16” Mighty Wheels® Cement Mixer Reviews

Was a little disappointed by the look of the stickers on the barrel as they are not great fitting and from reading was expecting something a bit heavier due to be made of metal and plastic, the cab is metal and the rest of plastic. Otherwise it looked solid, was a good size too. Great concept which reminded me of some toys my brother had when we were kids back in the 80s. Allows kids to have some action with their toys rather than just driving it around. Very easy to play with, he was very excited to open the box and drive it around. The handle is easy to turn for little hands and has a smooth feel. He loved the noises! They are short playing which is great as an adult as sometimes toys with noises go on for a little bit too long! He loved the beeping of the toys and beeped along when driving the truck around. Loved rotating the barrel around, while driving if he could. Little difficult to fill as small hole but yes he did enjoy filling and then emptying it, making mess with sand. He did enjoy creating his own building story. He would pretend to be on a building site with a crane and digger we also have. Apart from the sticker on the barrel it is well build and solid. I do think it is a shame that the doors on the cab do not open to allow them to easily put characters inside to drive the truck but he did manage to put a figure in by posting through the window as the windows are not filled. He did sit on it at one point and the truck survived, not that I would recommend that but that was how he was playing one day and it didn’t get damaged. He has played with it several days over the time we have had it, as part of a building game outside when we have managed to have dry weather and also inside without the barrel filled as part of his games. Mostly driving it around rather than turning the barrel as the weather hasn’t allowed for too much outside play which is needed to really use the emptying function, but hopefully as the weather improves we can get outside more and he will use this function more as well as driving it around. We would buy more from Mighty Wheels. We have a couple of other building type toys and he does enjoy playing with this type of toy so as we want to buy we will look at this brand. My son really liked the beeping from one of the buttons. I liked the size of the toy. He had just turned 4 when we received the toy and was perfect for his age, my 7 yr old also played with it a few times so can see that it will last us a few years. Solid quality build, little disappointed more isn’t metal rather than plastic. Would also have preferred opening doors and better sticker on the barrel. Definitely worth the price for the size and quality. I would buy this as my son enjoys this type of toy and we have other types of building toys and this fits well within our price range and satisfaction of quality. I would recommend. I have a friend who has a young boy and in a few years I know he would love something like this. Generally good just a few little bits I would have liked to have seen different but over all good quality and solid toy. Maggie Goffin – Christopher 4 Years

That it was very large and where would we store it. I think it is a good concept as kids can truly experience how a cement mixer operates. The instructions were simple but maybe it could have included what products could be used to really show the function of the toy. My son found this very easy to use and play with. He enjoyed the sounds and imitating the trucks he had seen in real life on the roads. He did enjoy the fact it would rotate like a real cement mixer. However, this was limited as he wanted to actually mix something inside it but I was unsure as to whether this would work properly and did not have anything he could use to test this. He enjoyed pretending but without any sand at home he could not actually see it working. He made up his own games driving it across the floor and reversing using the sounds to enhance his games. This is well designed. I do think this is a durable product and should stand the test of time. He played with it a few days at a time and left a gap of a few days in between. Mostly played with it indoors and when weather was better outside. I do not think I would buy any more Mighty Wheels, as they are pretty large and would take up too much space. I do however think my son would enjoy the dump truck version. He enjoyed the sounds and mechanical action. I liked the sounds. As my son is 5 I think he is probably the top age for this toy. So I think it would be more suited to a younger child. The quality is good. It is definitely robust. I think it’s probably a little pricey. Without the sand or supplements to use in the cement mixer I think it should be priced a bit cheaper may £15-20. As I feel this is too large to store if you are limited on space I would not recommend. It has fun elements and the idea of being able to properly use the mechanical parts is great but you cannot really travel with the toy and I think the size is just a little unnecessary. I think this product has fun and interactive elements, which had my son fully engaged with his creative play. And he loved imitating real life events and trucks that he had seen. It helped him learn about how the truck works to mix the cement and the sounds brought it to life. He generally played with this toy on its own. Julia Roye – Kanan – 5 Years
