ABC Design Avus buggy

The Avus is a lightweight, handy and comfortable buggy. Swiveling front wheels make it extremely easy to manouver. Its compact design and ease of handling give you flexibility. The backrest and footrest of the Avus can be adjusted quickly and easily, so your little one can discover the world in the upright sitting position or rest comfortably in the completely flat reclining position. The Avus also benefits from the parking brake being located directly on the right rear wheel which not only saves weight and space from removing the axel, but also gives you more legroom when pushing the buggy, a real advantage especially for tall parents. Thanks to the large front and rear wheels, the Avus is perfect in the city or off-road. Supported by the integrated suspension system the wheels ensure a smooth ride on any surface. The hidden handle in the seat of the buggy means you can fold the Avus with just one hand making it ready to go in no time at all. The practical standalone function and transport lock makes the Avus the ideal travel companion – on the road, in the city or on holidays.

Smart looking stroller and a lovely colour. Really impressed with the design, the folding functionality was cleverly hidden and super easy to operate. Instructions simple to follow and really helpful to have pictures demonstrating what to do. I was able to set the stroller up on my own, quickly and easily. Everything clicked into place and easily. No issues placing my daughter in the stroller, felt as though she was secure when in position. The stroller appears to be really comfortable and my daughter was more than happen to get in and sit in the stroller for long periods. She felt secure and there were no issues. She was more than happy to have her afternoon nap in the stroller. The padded seat with near-flat recline was effective, it’s very hard to find a stroller that reclines far enough, my daughter happily took her naps in the pram and looked comfortable. Really easy to change the back rest settings. We adjusted it to my daughter and she was comfortable. If you were swapping between children, it would be easy and quick to adjust for each child. The height adjustable leg rest was really useful and my daughter tends to switch it up quite often depending on the day. Really easy to adjust and again she was happy when adjusted. The 5-point safety harness was easy to use but very rigid which made us question how comfortable the harness was. It wasn’t as soft and flexible as we would expect. The height adjustable handle bar was great.  My partner is much taller than me so we were able adjust it, depending on who was pushing which was great! Really appreciate this feature and it’s difficult to find a comfortable height often, especially when switching between people. The suspension was good. We live in a small village and the paths are very bumpy, we found it had a better suspension then most other strollers we have used/family have used. We loved the parking break feature, really clever and thoughtful feature which I’m sure so many other parents will also appreciate. Super easy to function and works great with sandals! The one hand fold was a great feature and it is something we really benefited from. The EVA wheels are really easy to clip into place, was incredibly useful when travelling, allowing us extra space in the car when taking a lot of luggage in the car. The extendable sun shade was a great addition as often they don’t go down far enough, this sun shade provided great coverage and the mesh insert is a desirable feature, especially in the recent heatwave we have been experiencing. The water repellent fabrics was not something we were able to test with recent weather being so warm, however it is a feature I would find desirable and look for when purchasing a new stroller. A great feature to have. The shopping basket was great, it was easily assessable which is the main problem with most stroller, especially when reclined. A large shopping basket is fantastic and I found this one incredible useful and well designed. I’ve already recommended to a friend for this reason. The fact this is compatible with a wide range of universal car seat with optional extra car seat adapters is a fantastic benefit, especially when you’re just popping into a shop and you don’t want to disturb a sleeping baby! It’s a highly desirable feature in my eyes and I wouldn’t want to be without it. This was so easy to maneuver, the handle bar was comfortable and the wheels are really sturdy making it really comfortable and easy to use. This is really great on bumpy pavements. We have lots of uneven paths local to us and I thought the suspension and wheels handled them really well and didn’t disturb the comfort. Super lightweight and easy to fold one handed and pop in the boot. Really useful when out and about and trying to keep a toddler close by as well as pack up the car. We used this daily, always kept in the car for our daily journeys out and about. Used this on local walks and trips into the town centre. This was only used for my 3 year old. I loved the overall comfort for my daughter and for myself, comfortable seat and comfortable to push being so lightweight and smooth. Although we didn’t get a chance to use the rain cover, we did test the rain cover and it was easy to pop over the stroller and appeared to provide good protection. Overall really impressed with the quality, the only minor point was the 5-point harness, mentioned earlier in the questionnaire. I think the stroller looks really great, smart and definitely comfortable for little ones. Absolutely great value. The price is fantastic in comparison to other brands who provide similar features but charge a fortune. This pram is fantastic value with great features. I would buy this as value for money, overall quality and features, love the style and the shopping basket. I have already recommend to family who have commented on the stroller whilst testing, it’s features at this price, I believe are unbeatable. Overall I would give this a 5, easy to put together and quick too, lightweight, comfortable and stylish. The look and style of the stroller is really desirable and big selling point. The extendable hood is Fantastic, and the seat appears to be really comfortable for my daughter. It’s also really comfortable to manoeuvre and the handle bar is lovely to use. The shopping basket is a great size and easily assessable which is a great bonus! I also love how the folding down feature is hidden in the seat! Really easy to fold down and up, ideal to be able to do this one handed too. Overall I was really impressed with the product and I think it’s on sale at a fantastic price. Megan Beckley – Rosie 3 Years

Very stylish looking, light weight, large seat, well packaged. I love the design, it is simple and stylish, fits through doorways and I love the extending hood, the easy reclining and sit up feature is great and the foot break is awesome as I live in flip flops. Instructions easy to follow and clear pictures, pushchair was up in less than 10 minutes. The pushchair was up in less than 10 minutes with no fiddley bits to put together. Can’t just undo one side of the bar to place baby in as it falls back rather than stay in one place so have to remove the whole bar and find somewhere to put it and although I like the smaller baby strap settings they are a bit fiddley to get in place as the older baby strap settings are too big at the moment for my 6 month old. Isla is always leaning to one side even though I do the straps up exactly the same on both side meaning that the opposite side strap falls over her shoulder. I am hoping as she learns to control her core body strength she will no longer lean to the side. Very effective recline, Isla easily falls asleep in here. Super easy to sit the seat up as just gently push it forwards and it clicks into place. Easy to recline by just lifting a handle on the back of the seat and gently lowering it into position. The adjustable leg rest is very easy to use. The harness is easy to use but I feel like there should be an in-between setting on the shoulder and waist straps between the newborn part and older child part. The handle bar is very easy to adjust, gentle push on the buttons both sides and it changes position to suit you. The pushchair is incredibly smooth to push and glides beautifully along the pavements. I live in flip flops and have always struggled with pushchair breaks but the easy push down to lock and push the button above to unlock is amazing! No force what so ever is needed to lock and unlock the pushchair wheels and my toes are saved! It is a very easy folding mechanism but I don’t find it useful, it is also silent when unfolding so I found it difficult to know when it was fully open as I am used to an audible click when unfolding other pushchairs. The wheels are very easy to remove for when using in a smaller vehicle boot. I really like having the mesh window on sunshade but it needs a magnet or something to keep it held open as it just flaps shut as soon as I lift it. Great to have water repellent fabrics as any small spills or quick showers means the fabrics don’t need drying out. The shopping basket is a great size and a lot bigger than my previous pushchair, I can fit my daughters nappy bag, wipes box and some shopping underneath. Personally I do not agree with car seats being used on pushchairs so the fact it is compatible with a wide range of car seats would not be something I would use. The wheels are super smooth and the pushchair glides beautifully along the pavements, the wheels turn easy. I wouldn’t take this to our local woodlands or the beach as it would destroy the wheels or buckle the frame, our beaches are all big stones and there is no way this could bounce along them. I do agree this is a lovely lightweight versatile stroller which is ideal to take out and about and use when travelling. I use this almost daily.  I absolutely love it.  We swap over for our old all-terrain pushchair for beach and woodland trips. We used this to walk out and above and also a lot in various local towns.  Not used for any younger children but I know this would have been perfect for my oldest child as he was a big lad when he was little and this has an amazing amount of head room and a very spacious seat. I loved the style and easy maneuverability. Not had to use the rain cover yet as not been raining,  but it stays under the pushchair for when we will need it. The only downside for me is the wheels, I don’t think they will last long with this material as they wear down fast. I do think this is very good value for money.  I would buy this as it is a great pushchair. I would recommend because I absolutely love it.  Have had a great experience with this product  its stylish, lightweight, pushes fantastic, the extendable hood is great for sunny days and snoozing baby. Its adjustable settings are all so easy to use, the break is perfect for flip flops. This is now my every day pushchair. Kerry Brown – Isla 6 Months

First impressions were positive. I thought it looked high quality and sturdy. It was brilliantly packaged too. The design is beautiful. It feels compact without losing any sturdiness and I love the ability to fold it down with one hand. The instructions were really easy to follow once I eventually found the instructions tucked away in the basket. Most of the set up was really easy I didn’t even need to use the instructions much. Putting Lucien in was really easy especially because the bumper bar easily clicks out with one hand. My son did keep sliding down a little when he was in the upright position so I have to reposition him a few times. Also there seems to be an awful lot of excess on the straps which is a little concerning. The padding is perfect. Lucien easily naps in the near flat recline and I can tell he is comfortable on the padding. The height adjustable back rest is very easy to adjust even without instructions. The adjustable leg rest is very easy to use even without instructions. The 5-point safety harness was one of the first things I adjusted whilst I was setting the stroller up. It was very easy to customise to his height and he is definitely secure. The excess on the straps after adjusting is quite a bit too much in my opinion. There is a foot in height difference between myself and my husband so having an adjustable handlebar has been very useful for us both. I adjust it without even realising most of the time. We have used this on a few different terrains and the ride remains quite smooth. He isn’t bouncing around so feels very safe and secure. I absolutely adore this braking system. I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s nice being able to go for a walk without kicking the bar at the back of a stroller. Also the button release system is fantastic and has been great to use especially when I’ve worn sandals. This has come in very handy on several occasions! I can easily hold Lucien in one arm and fold and carry the stroller in the other. It has been perfect and saved a lot of time when we’ve had to take the stairs or at the airport. I haven’t come across any occasions where I’ve had to remove the wheels but I’ve just given it a go and it was very easy and simple to do. The extending sunshade has been great to use especially whilst we’ve had a lot of sunshine. I’ve been able to keep Lucien out of direct sunlight and the mesh has been perfect for ventilation. We’ve been caught in the rain a couple of times and the inside of the stroller has stayed dry. I also found that once it did get wet it dried out quite easily. The shopping basket is fairly large, we’ve had no issues with anything we’ve had to put underneath. Unfortunately I haven’t had a chance to use this with a car seat because Lucien is no longer in a carry car seat. This stroller swerves and handles really well. I find it quite enjoyable to push. We’ve used this stroller on quite a few terrains and whilst some are definitely a little more difficult, I’ve found that the stroller copes really well and never feels like it will buckle at all. This stroller is perfect for families on the go! I found it very useful to use on shopping trips, day to day errands and also traveling abroad. It is most definitely ideal for getting in and out of the boot or on/off public transport. This would be used at least 5 days a week. I used this mostly for the school run, shopping trips, days out, long walks and also a holiday abroad. My favourite part of this stroller is the braking system (the button release system has really saved my feet!) and also how easily it is to be folded with one hand. The rain cover fits perfectly and keeps the wind and rain out. The quality is fantastic from the metal framework to the fabric and the overall design. I think it is brilliant value and has everything and more that you need for a compact lightweight stroller. I would buy this product for sure. It’s been an asset to our family life. If someone asked for recommendations on a compact stroller I would recommend it. Overall I think this stroller has been brilliantly designed and is such great quality. It is well worth the £249.99 price tag in my opinion. It’s so versatile and easy to use. My overall experience has been positive. I have really enjoyed testing this stroller and will continue to use it until my son grows out of it. My only concern is the excess on the straps which I think needs to be urgently reviewed. Katherine Inufusa – Lucien 9 Months
