Bamberoos

Bamberoos are a new pocket-style fitted nappy by Wonderoos. Made from silky soft bamboo, the nappy is designed to fit from newborn to toddler in a single size, adjusting using poppers on the front. Durable poppers on the waist for a good fit, and no sticking to everything in the wash!Bamberoos are made from gentle, soft bamboo fabric, with a layer of microfibre in the core, and come supplied with 2 loose inserts – 1 bamboo and 1 microfibre.  You can use the inserts with the nappy to increase absorbency as needed.  The nappy has a pocket you can put the inserts into, or if you prefer you can lay them inside the nappy – make sure this doesn’t affect the fit at the legs.  For overnight use we recommend putting the boosters outside the nappy, between the nappy and wrap.  Heavy wetters may need an extra booster. This nappy is an ideal choice if you want a good snug fit on newborns, but the durability of a nappy that can fit up to toddler size.  It’s a slimmer fit than many other bamboo nappies on the market, and the popper fastening makes for a softer feel around the tummy, as well as adding durability. This nappy needs a wrap.  Most wraps will work well over this nappy, particular favourites are Thirsties Duo Wraps, Mother-ease Air Flow or Rikki Wraps, Marvels One Size Wraps and Nature Babies.

Looked
easy enough to use just was unsure if it would work well with an active baby. I
also thought it looked very large. As I am completing a trial I found the packaging
satisfactory, If I were to purchase the item I would have liked it to be a more
branded packaging and maybe in a little box rather than a plastic bag. Very
easy and clear instructions. Only thing I would include would be a recommended
wear time between changing as I felt my child didn’t wear hers for very long
each time but we had accidents. I thought it was made very well, good quality.
Very soft material and my daughter seemed very comfortable when wearing it. It
even helped to calm down her nappy rash. Only problem I found was my daughter
would be wet quite quickly. I normally change her nappy (disposable frequently
through the day). The first time my daughter wore this nappy for only 2 hours
she ended up soaking wet so either it shifted or she had a lot of wees. It
would prove quite costly to buy all the supplies you would need as previously
mentioned my daughter was soaked within two hours so we would need a huge
supply. It would be cost efficient in the long run compared to the amount spent
on disposable nappies. I would consider buying this product but would have to
have a good stockpile before beginning to use them full time as an alternative
to disposable nappies. I would recommend the product to family and friends but
would advise them to have a large stockpile as you need a lot before you can
use them without having to use disposable nappies between washing. I do like
the concept of reusable nappies that are natural and good for babies’ skin. I
just have concerns as my daughter never wore hers for more than two hours. I
would be concerned it would not be appropriate for night time wear as I would
have to change frequently therefore disturbing baby. I also would be concerned
that if I was to be out the house for a long time I would have to carry around
urine soaked nappies all day. The outer liner appears to be large for my
15 month old daughter it appeared to be a little small on the Velcro straps. I would
prefer to use this product if I had a younger child. We didn’t seem to have the
greatest experience using the product as we only had one. Therefore if we had
more than one product I feel we would of have a more rewarding experience with
the product, Rather than having a wet grumpy baby. Jessica

Looked
quite big for a one size fits all, despite adjustable fasteners, but then my
daughter is on the dinky side! Looked
comfortable and soft. Product came simply in the postage bag. No additional packaging, branded or
otherwise. Simple instructions on how to care for the product were included but
no tips on using the product were supplied.
You could argue that it is fairly logical but I was unsure about which
liner to use (two of different thicknesses were supplied). The product was made
well with soft, durable looking material.
It washed well. I think these are good value in terms of how expensive
disposable nappies are. Cost of washing
the liners and nappies needs to be taken into consideration though! I found it
too big for my daughter even on the smallest fastening. I would recommend but
would highlight checking size. The idea is great but it was simply too big
for my daughter, which obviously caused leaks!
It was great to try the product as I have been thinking about trying
cloth nappies for a while but was always a little concerned that my daughter
was too small (she is on the 9th percentile). Unfortunately, although the product seemed
great it was too big for my daughter and we had a number leaks when she had a
bowel movement. Amber Cull – Summer 11 Months

Looked
good, was unsure how comfy it would be for the baby and how well it would fit. Limited
packaging, but all that was needed for this product. Instructions ok, but was
unsure what to do with the thin liners supplied with the nappy. Quality was
pretty good, but the nappy got very wet very quickly. I think you would need a
large stock of these nappies, at least 10 so that would be quite expensive. I
feel like I would spend all my free time washing the nappies, therefore they
are more hassle than they are worth. Not sure anyone I know has time to be
messing with all the up keeping these would need. I would not purchase a
product like this, it seemed to do the job it was designed for, but as a
working mum there are not enough hours in the day to be spending time washing
these. Faye Windever – Dylan 10 Months
