Bibado Dawn’s First Tooth Lift-the-Flap Storybook

Dawn’s First Tooth is a beautifully illustrated, easy-to-read, lift-the-flap storybook designed to encourage curiosity and support our Dawn the Dinosaur™ Multi-Sensory Teether.
Written by Bibado founder, mum and Dentist, Rachel, the entertaining rhyming story helps parents explain to their children how their teeth erupt, what their teeth and mouth do, and the vital role teeth play in chewing and eating.
Follow the adorable, curious Dawn on her teething journey as she develops the feeding skills required to eat leaves just like her Mummy and Daddy.
Use the book alongside your Dawn the Dinosaur™ Teether to munch along as you explore the story together – with each of Dawn’s body parts supporting and strengthening a different mouth muscle group. It’s a great way to practice the skills needed for successful feeding while fostering your little one’s curiosity – helping them discover their own mouths and bodies with the help of their new best friend.
The rhyming story helps to retain attention, while the lift-the-flaps feature promotes interaction with the book and develops hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
Enjoy quality time reading together and use Dawn’s fun and enchanting story to encourage your little one to play with, and discover their Dawn the Dinosaur™ Teether.

Initial impression was that it looks like a fun book, nice colours, good handling size for when baby gets a bit older and a relevant topic for teething babies. It is a book that I would have picked up to look at if I was book shopping. It arrived securely packaged and in perfect condition. The front cover is well designed to draw attention and introduces the main character of the book. My child likes this book, when shown he reaches out to grasp it and it is also a favourite chosen by his older siblings who read to him often. My child enjoys the rhymes in the book and it helps to hold his attention. It also makes it an enjoyable read from a parent’s point of view. My child likes the character Dawn and gets excited when we ask him “shall we read Dawn?” We always give our child a teething toy whilst reading this book and hopefully he will begin to make the link between what we are reading and what he needs to do when weaning. My child is a bit young to understand why teeth are important for chewing etc., yet we do talk to him about when he gets teeth and he will be able to eat as he is just starting to show an interest in others food. I find this book an educational type of book and although not yet I think it will become a helpful tool as he enters the world of food. The illustrations are lovely and eye catching for young children. Dawn looks like a friendly dinosaur. My child is not yet able to lift the flaps independently but is something he likes to get involved in and we lift them together, I don’t think it will be long before he is able to do it himself. We have been reading this book together about 4 times a week. We tend to go for this during the day when wanting to occupy him rather than as a bedtime story. My child seems to like the flaps the most. Although he can’t yet do them, he definitely wants to. I like the theme of the book as it’s something that all babies will go through, makes it a bit like a teething tool. The book appears to be good quality and will hopefully withstand little hands on it when the time comes, the flaps don’t look like they will be easily ripped off either which is usually a concern with this type of book. I think this book is fairly priced. This is definitely a book I would buy for my child as it is a learning tool alongside a nice story and looks nice. I would recommend this book to anyone with a baby/toddler, particularly as it is enjoyable to read as an adult which many children’s books are not. I give this book full marks as it’s a good all-rounder. Its enjoyable, good value and educational. Jennifer Ridgway – Aidan 5 Months

Lovely colourful front which looked very appealing and eye-catching. When it arrived in the post my son asked if we could read it straight away. Theodore who is 4 loved the rhymes and lifting the flaps. He would look at me and laugh and tell his daddy about it afterwards. My son loves dinosaurs so this was very fitting. Louis, 4 months is chewing everything and the booked helped me to explain to Theodore why he does chew as it was explained by the book. Theodore would also copy what was in the book to show Louis to get him to understand to which Louis would smile. Me eldest son did enjoy learning about teeth and how it’s natural to lose them. My son lost his front tooth at 2 years due to an accident and often gets asked about why he doesn’t have a tooth so this helped him with his confidence. The flaps outlining information on mouth movements and teeth did help my eldest son to understand more about the natural progression of life and age. I feel that Louis was too young to relate to feeding success, but it helped my older son learn which he will pass the learning onto Louis and by reading it regularly it will him understand. The illustrations are lovely and colourful. My eldest did learn a lot from the lifting flaps and kept him entertained. This has been read about 9-10 times. Both my son enjoyed the flaps, lifting them and for the eldest doing the chewing for his baby brother to understand. I liked the rhyming of the book and the fact it read nicely and wasn’t boring. It was very good quality and if I saw in shop I would be drawn to it. Yes good value as kept child entertained and was colourful and of a good quality. I would buy this book and recommend for all the reasons above. Book helps children learn which is always a good factor. My sons loved the book and I enjoyed reading it, so many books look appealing but the story let’s it down or it doesn’t rhyme and read write. I found this book was not to long kept the little ones interest and made you want to turn the page. Amanda Perkins – Louis and Theodore 4 Months & 4 Years

I was very impressed with the books quality and the design, and was eager to read it to my baby. Nikita was very inquisitive and reached out for the book as soon as I showed it to him. He was interested in the pictures and began to tap the cover. He was smiling along while I read it to him, so I can only assume that he did enjoy the rhymes. He liked Dawn because she has a friendly happy face and bright blue colour. He was smiling at her. The book did not encourage him to chew. But I believe it’s just a bit early for Nikita, as he is only just starting his weaning journey this week, so far with purees. He will start solids in one month time. I will continue reading the book to him to see if it does, and because he enjoys it so much. He listened very carefully and remain in eye contact with me at all times. It’s a little hard to tell, as he is so small. But I am sure that he will enjoy learning with Dawn! As Nikita only got his first 2 teeth starting to come through this week, it’s difficult to say. But I was mimicking the movements to him when reading and showing the book, and he copied the mouth movements a number of times. I agree it will help him with feeding success in the future. He liked the book and listened very carefully, so it sure grabbed his attention! The illustrations are nice and bright coloured, but not too much, so baby can focus on one picture at the time. Also, the illustrations are all happy and friendly. He enjoyed lifting the flaps to see what’s underneath. We read it one every day at lunchtime weaning meal. My son loved Dawn the dinosaur and the interactivity (the flaps). I liked how it grabbed Nikita’s attention. I also enjoyed reading it to him – it became our special ritual. A part of our daily routine. I personally also enjoyed the illustrations and I love the idea behind the story and the interaction side of it. I am sure Nikita will love the book even more as he grows, and it will help him learn. I was impressed with the print and cover quality as great! Additionally, the content is very nicely written and beautifully illustrated. I believe the book is great, however, maybe not for Nikita’s age just yet. Also, there are so many books available in Aldi, Lidl and bookworms for cheaper, and they are also very interactive, brightly coloured and good quality. I would buy it but perhaps at a later stage. Definitely worth seeing his happy little face! I would recommend as it is very engaging for little ones, with the little flaps they can lift and bright colors. And teaches them the essentials of oral hygiene in a fun way. Great product, great idea and a great way to engage the little ones and learn through play. Just maybe could do with being a little cheaper in this economy. Oksana Pavlenko – Nikkita 5 Months
