It looked exciting, I was intrigued to show my children, but especially my younger child, and show them a fun way of learning about butterflies. I think it’s a brilliant idea; it makes learning fun and interesting. It was pretty self-explanatory. I really liked the colours of the puzzle. The design idea is brilliant, and I think it’s a great way to show children life cycles. My daughter found it very fun and easy to put together and loved talking about each layer as we did them. She found the puzzle pieces really easy to hold and move around. My daughter loved seeing each layer and talking about it. She linked it back to the very hungry caterpillar story which she really enjoys reading and that made it even more interesting for her. I think it’s a brilliant idea, my daughter is 5 so has already been introduced to it, they have covered it partly during her first year at school but I think it’s definitely a great idea for younger children to be shown. This certainly keeps her entertained and she loved playing with it. My daughter plays with the puzzle regularly, sometimes most days! It feels well-made and of a very good quality. Although it is a slightly pricier puzzle than I would have normally bought, I think you can tell the quality and the learning experience that comes with it. I loved the way education is made fun and it opens up conversations that interest children, it lead us to then looking up more things about butterflies and talking about them. I would definitely consider buying it for younger children I know. I will be recommending it to friends and family, especially childminders I know! Brilliant product. My children both enjoyed doing the puzzle and my 7 year old loved talking to my 5 year old about the lifecycle of a butterfly!  I’m very interested to see other puzzles made. I think it’s a great collection and should be in pre-schools and early years within schools. Stephanie Wright – Alyssa 5 Years

Very impressed, looked lovely and bright. My daughter loved to see the different layers of the puzzle. The instructions for an adult were very easy, took my daughter a long time to work out, which way the cycle went. This is a lovely design and very colourful.  Once she knew how the cycle of the butterfly went she found it easy to put together and loves doing it. The size of the puzzle pieces are very good size for small hands.  She did find it fascinating to see each layer outlining the stages of a butterfly from a caterpillar.  This has encouraged her to look for insects when we are out. This was a very effective and fun way to help educate my daughter about the life of a caterpillar to a butterfly.  This certainly kept her entertained.  My daughter would play with this most days.  The quality is really good.  A little bit pricier than normal but delivers so much more. I loved the colourful design.  I would buy this as we love educational toys which encourage more questions. I would recommend this to friends and family.  Great product, educational and my daughter loved it. Hayley Kirby – Sammy 4 years

It looked attractive very similar to Melissa and Doug products. I liked it although it made it hard for a 4 year old to put together.  I didn’t read the instructions Amelia saw it and ripped off the packaging and started immediately. I liked the design and colours and thought the puzzle was a great way to teach children.  My daughter found it quite difficult to put together as the pieces had to be a certain way in because of the cut. She did find the puzzle pieces easy to hold.  The idea of seeing each layer illustrating the different stages of a butterfly was really good but my daughter was for frustrated as she could not get the pieces in place. The whole idea of this puzzle and how it creates the life of a caterpillar through to a butterfly is such a great idea.  This has kept my daughter entertained and she has now played with it a long since receiving it. Over the last few weeks she played with it about 8 times as she wanted to show her friends and family how it worked and the pictures.  The quality is great just love it. I would say it is good value as my daughter has played with it a lot more than other toys. I like the design and the fact it is educational. I wold purchase this as it is a classic toy hard wearing and fun. I would recommend as it is different to a normal puzzle.  We all liked it we just found the pieces a little difficult to put in as although circular they had to be in a certain position.  Maybe for little ones they could have the numbers on the back of the pieces to correspond to the stages to help as it seemed quite advanced. Even I struggled. Rebecca Newland – Amelia Nearly 5 years
