I loved the traditional look of it. I thought it was a really lovely idea. Instructions clear and easy to understand. Both of my children 3 and 5 found it easy to play with. They both loved it, 3 year old daughter who loves cats was especially delighted! They were somewhat excited to open the flaps each day for the 12 days running up to Christmas, but they often forgot. They loved the illustrations featured on each of he puzzle pieces. They are really different /unique to some do the garish colours of some modern toys. The Cat Family book with ideas for Christmas holiday period was enjoyed by my eldest and they also enjoyed the story. They loved the pictures and finally getting to left the flaps. I liked the quality and the fact it is plastic free. Totally would be a lovely gift for children this Christmas. Both my children really enjoyed playing with it. They love puzzles and cats, it was a big hit! Yes and no, it’s slightly on the expensive side when the puzzle isn’t so big and in comparison to other puzzles on the market which are cheaper. The quality is fantastic. The packaging is beautiful and love the lack of plastic! The red paper bag for the pieces is seasonal too! The age suitability is ideal for 5+ though my smallest enjoyed it too. The age range could be set down to 4+. I would buy this as a gift as it is a really lovely unique idea. I would recommend as a lovely take on an advent calendar. Lovely quality, price a little too high. We really enjoyed testing out the Cat Family Christmas Puzzle. It was a great interactive puzzle and was interesting for all of us. We have never seen a lift the flap jigsaw puzzle before. Lucy Kibbler-Weaver – Leo & Robyn – 5 & 3 Years

The box was lovely and the illustrations were nice. I was sceptical of the concept, where would I store a jigsaw for 12 days before Christmas without it being taken apart. The instructions were nice and clear. My son found the puzzle easy to use and put together with a little help. My son was very proud and excited once the puzzle was complete. He was very excited to lift the flaps and start the count down to Christmas. He loved the illustrations, we talked about all of the different things in the picture. We thoroughly enjoyed the book and there are some wonderful ideas inside. My son enjoyed sitting down together to complete it. It created family time, doing the puzzle together and creating excitement to open the windows. I wouldn’t say it is an ideal Christmas present because it needs to be done in the 12 days before. If given for Christmas they have to wait a year to do it. It kept him entertained for a short while completing but the onward tasks will provide more entertainment. I think it is fairly expensive for what it is. Quality is good, but could be more robust to last several years. I agree this is age appropriate, younger children would struggle with the puzzle. I will struggle storing the puzzle made up for 12 days without it being broken. It needs a flat surface to live for the run up to Christmas. Also – I’m not sure it would last more than one year, once the flaps are opened, I’m not sure they will close fully to put away again for next year. When rebuilt, the flaps are still open in a sense. A puzzle is a wonderful idea, but maybe one alongside a book with flaps? Or a book that allows you to collect pieces and then make the puzzle on Christmas Eve?! That way storage of the completed puzzle is averted. The concept is really lovely, well built and beautifully illustrated. however for us, it would be difficult to store for 12 days once complete and i fear it wouldn’t be used with the same level of excitement the following year. If you have the space to store flat, or the inclination to mount it like an advent calendar, it would be a wonderful addition to add excitement and joy. Rachel Kendall – Jacob 5 Years

I thought it was a new interesting idea and I was excited to see it. I really liked the idea of something new and different. Instructions pretty straightforward and easy to understand. Harriet found the pieces easy to hold but struggled to put them together as the cardboard was quite flimsy and bent easily. The pieces didn’t fit that well together. Harriet was pleased when the puzzle was finished and enjoyed doing it. Obviously testing this early before Christmas was not quite the same, however Harriet was excited to see what was behind the flaps. She really loved the illustrations on the puzzle pieces. The Cat family story book was quite long and Harriet didn’t really engage with it, instead she was keen to get on building the puzzle and opening the flaps! My daughter enjoyed opening the flaps the most. I liked the concept. Personally I wouldn’t buy this as a Christmas present or even an advent present. This only help her attention while putting together and opening the flaps, so did not keep her entertained for long. I think it’s very expensive for a puzzle especially considering the poor quality of the jigsaw. I wasn’t very impressed with the cardboard the puzzle was made from, it bent easily and didn’t fit together very well. I would say age appropriate as my daughter was able to complete the puzzle and did not find it too hard. I would not buy this as I felt poor quality and overpriced. I would not recommend for the same reason. I really liked the idea of this product but it just didn’t work, the story and quality let it down. Great idea but not well executed.
