My initial impression of the DVD was excitement for my son. He’s a Chuggington fan and the cover looked appealing. I was impressed with the content of the DVD as there are a few story lines based around engineering which is great. It has the usual ‘working hard’, ‘supporting others’ and ‘thinking on your feet’ scenarios and was quite entertaining. Jack has been asking questions about what was going on in the story line and what the characters were doing showing that he is interested in what is going on and not just watching it for entertainment value. Jack has watched the DVD a couple of times from start to finish so obviously enjoys it! It was great to see a programme using engineering as its main idea. The use of different types of equipment was great as they are not pieces of machinery you would see on an everyday outing and so are not necessarily familiar to a young child. Jack asked about words such as ‘blunt’ and ‘sling’ so this DVD has helped in terms of communication and language and I would consider that it has helped Jack in educational terms. I am very happy with the quality of the DVD and its content and I am happy for Jack to watch it. I think based on the entertainment value of this product it is good value for money. Having seen what is included on the DVD I would consider buying it. I would also be happy
to recommend friends and family to purchase this DVD too. I would be happy to give this DVD a 5/5 from both myself and Jack! It is a fun, educational and entertaining DVD. Katie Loneragan – Jack 3 years

Good first impression – you can’t go wrong with trains. The total viewing time is generous, and the episodes work well as a bundle. He wants to watch it every morning when he wakes up! Chuggington is his new favourite thing now so I think he might be getting another Chuggington DVD for him soon. I’m not sure he understood but he definitely enjoyed it. I explained each episode to him, but it’s full of loud noises and construction equipment so he loved it. It’s good that the episodes all follow one character – Brewster as the main focus point, it makes it easier to follow for him. I’m sure he did develop educational skills watching this DVD. He watched tunnels being drilled and track being laid. I can’t say for sure whether he appreciated the morals of the episodes, but there are definite solid messages about team work, positive attitudes and perseverance which would certainly be understood by a slightly older child. Quality is excellent. Considering how many times we’ve watched it so far I’d say yes good value, although I would have been unlikely to buy it myself at this price – if it were even just a pound less it’d be more tempting. Jesse really loves the little poster of all the trains which comes with the DVD. Actually it was such a success I think I will buy another one. There’s definitely something to be said for bundles of episodes which follow a set theme like this – it’s like a film in parts. It definitely hit the spot for my little one. Well I don’t think I’ll get the theme tune out of my head anytime soon, but we both enjoyed the DVD so I’m quite happy to re-watch it over again (for now!) Very happy overall. Standard packaging. Bright and colourful. Standard content. Same as in the TV programme so new what to expect. My daughter was initially interested. Easier to watch in small chunks. My daughter did enjoy the story as good characters and fun stories. Language skills and interpersonal skills may have developed more by watching this DVD. Good high quality as expected. Could always be cheaper, but 7.99 is current standard price for this type of DVD. I would purchase this and recommend. Very happy with content and quality. Mary
