The book
arrived in good condition and from the front cover I loved the illustrations.
It was very clear what it was called and who the author was. The book is paperback and good quality, the paper had a nice feel to it
and it doesn’t feel like it will fall apart. My daughter is in reception and is doing well
with her reading, she found this a little challenging to read but did enjoy it,
and we took it in turns to read over a few days so her interest wasn’t lost.
My daughter loved the illustrations and
talked about what was happening on each page. She did enjoy it when I was reading it for
her, but her reading is improving all the time so I will continue to read this
with her. The
story was lovely; it had a great theme running throughout. My daughter loved trying to guess what would
happen next, she enjoyed the illustrations relating to the wording. The book is really well thought out and put
together nicely, it captures a wide age variety. I would
buy more books from this author as they know how to create a great story. This is age appropriate but I also feel would
be ideal for older child as my daughter did find a few things hard to read but
she is new to reading. For a paperback it is really well made.
I think it’s a little overpriced for a
paperback, but the story is excellent. I liked everything about the book. I would
buy this as the author really put a lot of effort into this book. I would recommend to those, whose children are interested in horses, the story is great.
Apart from the price the book is
amazing. We loved reading this
together and looking at the illustrations. Good length story that captured my
daughter. Rachel Sveinsson – Eva 4 Years

Initially I
was impressed with the layout of the book and the illustration; this clearly
indicates what the book may be about and is visually appealing to
children. My little boy was intrigued by the front cover and excited to
read about the pony as he has recently taken part in a horse riding
experience. The illustrations were very colourful and age appropriate,
they clearly outline what the story may be about. My little boy enjoyed
the book but didn’t seem as interested as he has been in other books we have
previously read. He enjoyed talking about the pictures but I don’t believe the
story grasped him as well as it could have. However, I have a niece of 8 and she
thoroughly enjoyed reading this book herself, I believe maybe the story is more
suitable for children age 5-6+. Noah didn’t really show a keen interest in the story;
he liked looking at the pictures but usually would ask various questions and
tell others about what he’s heard however that wasn’t the case with this
book. I believe the illustrations are stimulating although I felt the
story didn’t grab his attention as much as I’d hoped. I have given this
score due to the illustrations being perfect and overall I think this is a good
story for older children or children who have a lot of understanding of
horses/ponies. I would definitely purchase more books from this author
when Noah is older. I believe this book should be aimed towards ages 5/6+. Fantastic
quality and appealing illustrations. I believe this book would be a
little on the expensive side based on similar books being priced around £6.99. The
illustrations were really lovely and the concept of the story was
enjoyable. I wouldn’t consider buying this book at present as I don’t
believe it’s currently of benefit to Noah, I would however consider buying as a
gift for others e.g. my 8 year old niece. I would recommend this to
friends/family with older children than Noah. The way in which the
book was received with a covering note from the author was a really nice
personal touch. The quality of the book is lovely and overall I enjoyed the
story it just wasn’t suitable for my 4 year old little boy. Overall I believe
there to be nothing wrong with the book other than the audience age it is aimed
towards. Rianon Jones –

When this
arrived my daughter was certainly interested in the book due to the front
cover. She loves horses anyway and
wanted to read it straight away. She
also has just started taking horse riding lessons so this was the perfect book
for her. The illustrations were great and really added excitement and interest
to the story. Louisa is a good reader
and she read a lot of it herself but mainly we read it together. The story is well written and it did get her
talking about things going on and what was happening so definitely a good story
to stimulate her mind. We both loved the illustrations as they just bought the
story to life. A very well written story
which certainly captivated my daughter. I
had not heard of this author before but I will keep a look out for more books
from this author as like the way she writes. I would purchase this book as a
gift for my niece as it is a lovely story and she would enjoy it. I have already told a few people about this
book and the author. This was certainly the ideal book for Louisa and think it
would also suit older children. The quality of this book is very good, but
personally I feel just a little high in price compared to other books
available. We really enjoyed this book,
a lovely story which benefits from great illustrations that bring the story to
life. We really enjoyed this. Kerry Fletcher – Louisa 6 Years
