Nice illustration, colourful. Good quality, doesn’t feel as though it
would rip easily and my children tend to do just that – but it’s still in one
piece! My daughter found it appealing and immediately lay down in bed ready to
listen to her story. She understood that the photos were relating to the story
and pointed out things like how long her hair was. My daughter often asks for this book. She
really enjoyed the book. Kept commenting on how her daddy did her hair like in
the book! She enjoyed it and engaged with the story but not as much as some
others we have read. She commented on the girls hair, how daddy did her hair
like the girl in the story. The book is a decent size. Lovely illustration, wording and story. I
personally think this is a little expensive.
I’d definitely consider purchasing this but maybe as a
birthday/Christmas gift due to price. I
would recommend as I think this is a good book.
Colourful illustrations, good story, great quality – slightly overpriced!Toni Beech – Lexi 3 years

I think this is a really nice cultured story, more aimed at spending
quality time together than actually about the hair. I think this is a really
nice cultured story, more aimed at spending quality time together than actually
about the hair. My daughter really liked the look of it, looking through it as
soon as it came. My son took a brief glance and was not taken with it, but we
did sit and read it together and he liked it. The images were very in tune with
the story, it looked good and my daughter really liked the pictures, my son
asked questions about what they were doing. My daughter liked the book and
wanted me to do her hair. My son liked it also. The story was easy to follow
and they knew what was happening throughout, they thought it was good. To a
degree yes it is stimulating, but if I am honest it is more aimed at girls
simply because of what is happening in the book. It’s good to see other
cultures and we did talk about bits because of it. My son wanted to know why
they did her hair that way, what culture they were. It’s a nice size book, and it’s
not too thick which makes it easy to carry around and it’s not too long either.
It’s good to see other cultures and to see families spending time doing things together;
it has a nice storyline and was easy to read. It is value for money; it’s a
good size book for the price. I don’t think this book would get enough reading,
it’s been read the 4 times but that’s because I picked it, not the kids, they
love other books more. I would recommend as it is a good book, it has a nice storyline
and looks good. A good family orientated book on working together to achieve
something. Sonia Heryet – Logan & Robyn – 6 & 3 Years

Bright bold,
big pictures which are appealing for a child. She liked the look of the book,
was impatient to read. The illustrations were colourful. Appeared to enjoy reading the first time
round however took a lot of encouragement to read again throughout the four
week period. Abbie-Gail has sensory issues, one of which is over sensitive to
hair brushing and this can cause difficulties with her, Abbie-Gail made
comments throughout of how hair brushing hurts and they must be careful, fine
reading the book once but needed encouragement to read again throughout the
four week period stating she "doesn’t need to read it again as its too short
and other books are better”. The book
did prompt her to ask questions in regards to hair brushing and observations in
regards to where items were on the book. Nice sized book resulting in large
pictures for interaction. As this book was not a favourite for my daughter then
for us not value for money. Bright bold well-presented
book, could appeal to other children however did not for mine. Kim Firman – Abbie-Gail 3 Years 8 Months
I would recommend as I think this is a good book. Colourful illustrations, good story, great quality
