Very impressed with its appearance, couldn’t wait to get started. The product arrived securely boxed and with plenty of protection from knocks. Inside the outer box the product was presented in a clear plastic gift box which makes it an appealing gift choice. The set is pretty self-explanatory, I think though that maybe activity suggestions may have been a nice addition to the set, maybe the lyrics included to sing along to the cd with (for the parents – I’m not a French Speaker and struggled a little to pronounce the words spoken, seeing them written down may have helped). There is a link to the lyrics, but it might have been nice to have had them in a booklet form. The glove puppet is just gorgeous; he’s cute, attractive to my son who loves dragons and looks well made. The book and cd also look Interesting – especially the artwork on the front of the cd. My son when he saw the box gasped and was very excited about opening it. Elliott loves learning new things, he was taught baby sign language from an early age and can communicate in Makaton as well as in English, he was therefore used to the concept of there being more than one way to express the same meaning. He sat and read the book with interest, loved talking to the dragon, telling him the French and English words for each item and really enjoyed dancing along to the cd. He is yet to sing along with the French words to the songs he knows already in English, and initially appeared a little baffled, but I’m sure with more time he’ll get to grips with it. The books and dragon definitely held Elliott’s interest – the bright and clear images along with the interaction with the dragon holds his attention and he’s excited every time the book and puppet come out. He loves dancing to the cd and we’ve also had the cd on in the car to entertain him during longer journeys. He asks for the music to be put on and enjoys dancing or clapping along. Without the pack I am not sure at what age I’d have considered teaching Elliott French, I am very glad we had the opportunity to test the set as it will be a valuable introduction to learning a second language and will hopefully have captured his desire to speak an additional language later in life. I plan to build upon this introduction and will be purchasing further resources to enable Elliott’s progression. He has really enjoyed this introduction to French and I think it will stand him in very good stead as an adult to have two languages. Every aspect of the gift set is well made and of a good quality. The puppet will no doubt last a long time. I think that the product is priced at the top end of what I’d consider value for money. Individually the book can be purchased for £6 and the cd for £5, so the extra £14 for the puppet does seem a little overpriced. I think this could be justified if the gift was perhaps boxed with perhaps one more item, even if it was a handful of flashcards Or maybe activity suggestions. I do think that it’s a wonderful gift idea which I believe people after a no hassle gift might be more willing to pay the £24.99 for, it might therefore be worth offering benefits to ordering the gift set such as free gift wrapping, or perhaps the inclusion of a birthday card which would tie it all together into a convenient purchase. I think this product could be improved in a couple of ways, perhaps the inclusion of activity suggestions and some flashcards. I also noticed on your website that you have tips as to how a non-bilingual parent can teach their child effectively, perhaps printing these off, laminating them and including them in the gift set might be a Nice addition to the set. It would also be really nice to be able to purchase additional books to with progression, perhaps book 2, 3, 4… I’d also like the lyrics to have been included in booklet form rather than requiring a download. The product is already wonderful; I just think these extras would further enhance it. I would definitely order more items from this company; I have been very impressed with the product. I will be mentioning Diglot to my friends, I’m sure they would be very impressed with the quality of the resources and their children would enjoy the experience of learning another language. I was very impressed overall, not only has my son learned French words, but so have I and we have both had a wonderful time whilst learning them. Interesting and enjoyable introduction to French for young children, this gift set is of a high quality and sparks an interest in learning an additional language at an early age, making it the perfect gift for a little one. Bright, colourful and appealing to both children and adults. Bold, bright colours are used with great pictures for children. The products are easy to use alongside each other. The book is colourful and appealing to children, the CD is great for adults and children and the puppet alongside Makes it fun to use. I think at 4 years he doesn’t yet have the attention span to learn so much and it is allot of fun, but picked up that People speak differently and are from different countries to it is a great educational tool and with more use will Definitely learn from this. Yes this did hold my Childs attention, the singing was fun, and he is learning numbers at the moment so kept his attention throughout. It is a great educational tool for different reasons; learning numbers, being active with dancing and singing and it is fun to use. I will try and encourage him, but it isn’t something I will push on him and I want him to have fun alongside learning. The quality of the puppet, book and CD is great. It isn’t something I would be able to afford, but combined would be a great present. After using this product I would consider purchasing and would recommend. The Diglot language gift pack is a fun, educational learning tool and both children and adults can have fun learning together! Claire Worth – Joshua 4 Years
