Clare Awarded The Don’t Rock The Boat Game 5/5

This game arrived in an eye catching box with a fun design which would appeal to any pirate loving fan! There was great excitement and anticipation to play the game. The box had a bright, colourful and eye catching design on one side with an actual picture of the game on reverse which was great as you could see exactly what the game was like. The game has been designed to fit back into the box once you have finished playing with it; this is great for storing the game away. The concept is really simple and easy to understand within seconds; to balance the boat! James is 5, therefore at the youngest age the game is recommended for. He clearly understood the aim of the game. The game can be played from the young to the old and is great fun for everyone. The game provided a great deal of entertainment and James just wanted to play it over and over again. The boat rocking and the penguins falling off provided endless laughs! Each game does not last long and is constantly changing which keeps their attention and the desire to try again and do better next time. The game made James think about weights, balancing and gravity; perfect for an enquiring mind. The game requires a steady hand and all helps with hand/eye co-ordination. Once we had finished playing the game (numerous times!!) James spent time alone, playing with the game and experimenting what would happen when different penguin weights were put in different places around the ship and at different heights. This was all increasing his knowledge on the cause and effect of his actions. The boat feels solid and the penguins are really sturdy. They have fallen off the boat so many times and are still in perfect condition. It offers excellent value for money. I love the fact this toy can be played as a game but also just as much fun can be had with this toy on its own. The educational values are hidden behind its fun exterior. I would definitely consider buying this and recommend it to others. James and I have both loved playing this game, it has provided hours of laughter whilst exploring educational concepts in his mind. Harrison was very excited to play with this game. I thought the packaging was very good. The concept is great; it’s easy to understand. Harrison understood the game too. I had no concerns with him playing with this game at all. It definitely kept his attention whilst playing. I think it helps with their development too. This game is simple enough to play without losing interest. Harrison has found another way to play with this; he plays with the penguins and fights with them. Unfortunately we did not think the quality of the product was good, once you have put 1 penguin on the boat, the boats tilts. It needed to be stronger so the boat started tilting once a few penguins was on it not just one. I don’t think it offers value for money. We really liked the idea of it,  but the boat needs to be sturdier so you are able to put more penguins on the boat before it starts to tilt. The boat needs to have more balance so more penguins can go on the boat before it starts to tilt not just 1 penguin.  The idea of the game is good, but almost impossible to play correctly. Gemma Awarded The Don’t Rock The Boat Game 4.7/5

We really liked the look of this game when it arrived. The packaging was great; it was bright, colourful and attracted Kyle’s attentions traight away. I understood the game concept; it was easy to understand; Kyle did too. I didn’t have any concerns with him playing with this; the age it is aimed at is very appropriate. I think the playable context is good. Normally he doesn’t like games like this but this one was one of his favourites. It really helped with his development too and was fun at the same time. He never really lost interest in it which is also a sign of a good toy. The quality of the game is great; he has played it over and over again and still looks in good shape. I think it offers great value for money and would definitely consider buying this for our nephew for Christmas. I have already recommended it to others.  We really enjoyed this game; it’s fun and my son loves it. Gemma White – Kyle 5 Years
