Looked good quality and we were excited to try it out. Enjoyed the idea, takes exploring to another level. The design is simple taking no work to set it up. Instructions were easy to follow although the microscope is simple to use anyway. The size and design was very easy for my children to use. The two extra large eyepieces certainly eliminated the for them to close one eye when using this. The focusing knob was very easy for my children to use. The fixed stage worked really well. The LED light worked really well.  Both my children loved using the microscope and it has lead onto a number of learning ideas. This certainly helped them explore and learn and the microscope has had all sorts under it from blackberries to snails. It’s often brought out when they find something new when out for a walk or in the garden. This certainly kept them entertained. Mostly used this in the garden. The microscope is brilliant and takes exploring to another level. It’s easy for children to use alone or with adults. I loved how simple the style was and made it so easy for my children to use. Both my children loved the fact they could use this themselves. Really good quality and robust. great value for money providing hours of fun. I have already purchased one for a friends child as a gift. I would recommend it to friends. It’s such a good product that allows children to investigate providing hours of fun. This product is fab, it comes in an attractive box and is easy to use. It’s a shame batteries are not provided in the box but it’s no biggy. The simple idea makes it perfect for even the youngest child. Great microscope. Sarah Thirling – Molly & Lucy 5 & 2 Years

Came in a box with instructions, not too much packing as you find with some things. Colourful and well made. I love the idea of anything fun that helps introduce children to science. Robust and doesn’t appear easy to break. Which is a bonus around a 4 year old boy. Instructions easy and simple to understand. You don’t really need instructions but useful to have just in case. It took me a minute or so to realise why I needed batteries as I had not read the instructions yet so I guess if someone didn’t have the instructions and hadn’t worked it out yet this would help too. All I did was explain what it was for and guided him to find objects. He worked out how to use it by himself as I wanted to see if he could. The aspect od two extra-large eyepieces was useful as it’s not always easy to get them to follow all instruction but also if a child has any eyesight issues this could help. The knob for simple focusing is very easy to use and it’s made well so the mechanics are smooth. We had fun exploring some of his smaller toys and finding details we may not have noticed as much before. For example we put a small toy car under and he got excited when he noticed the windscreen wipers which normally would be quite small. It’s definitely useful to have the light, I did notice on some of the larger 3D items as you got closer the light was too close and would get blocked but this isn’t a huge deal. we have had fun exploring things like details in coins and toys and sponges that perhaps go unnoticed. we haven’t spent a lot of time in the garden as the weather has been very wet but we did take some leaves off the flowers indoors. We used this a few times a week and more often as he got to understand the purpose more. This did keep him entertained, although he enjoyed it more if he was challenged to find different items. Mainly used this indoors. It’s a great toy to get young children interested in science. I think it would be good to have a couple of plastic slides with sample things in the box or a small guide for what parents can look for in and around the home and what to look for when focusing closer. I grew up with a scientist but some might not know to start with. Perhaps even a small monthly subscription to posted activities to keep the interest going. I loved it is educational and not a big set with a million pieces. When I asked my son what he liked he said ‘The button you light up’. He presses it on when he puts a new item on and turns it off when he takes it off. I think it makes him feel important too. The quality is great and the mechanism to move the scope up and down is smooth and easy. I wouldn’t pay much more but yes it’s good and educational. Lots of people would pay more for non-educational toys. I think it would add value to have a small guide on what to look for even if it’s pictures like a scavenger hunt to get the items and look at them. I would buy this as it is a great fun toy to help introduce young children to science and to open up discussions. I would recommend and I have a few friends who take their children to mini professors, this would be a good toy to supplement that at home. Fun, and simple to use. Great for parents and children to play and learn together. Louise Baynes – Son 4 Years

Really liked the look of this product, brightly coloured. We really liked the design, super colours and child friendly. Really easy to use for little hands. Easy to follow straight forward instructions. The focusing knobs and light button are perfectly situated for young children. We didn’t have a problem with manoeuvring this at all. The two extra-large eyepieces are very effective. Getting a young child to close one eye while looking can be challenging. This is great as you don’t need to do so. Ask them to look through the eyepieces and they can do just that. My daughter found the focusing knob so easy to use and grip hold of. The fixed stage holds flat and 3D objects with no slides and works really well, although the wavy lines were a little more difficult to wipe down with some of the items used. we loved using the LED  light and seeing how different they looked, there’s a tiny little screw holding the batteries in place and 3 AAA batteries needed. Easy to pop in and change when needed.  My daughter absolutely loved getting things from the garden, greenhouse and around the home. We often picked up items on our walks to bring back home to look at.  Finding out more about the outside and insects using this microscope was handed over to daddy and big brother.  But it was very interesting in what they saw through the microscope. We used it a good few times when it first arrived. It’s not been out so much recently. I’m not sure if it’s going to be a novelty thing. It kept the children entertained for a good few hours. We used it mostly outside on the garden. I do agree this is a good educational toy and they get to learn about things they wouldn’t necessarily be interested in. I loved just spending time with each other looking for all different objects. My children loved going on a hunt with a basket collecting things ready to investigate as they said.
Really sturdy and durable. I think it would definitely survive a drop. I do believe this is worth every penny. I can’t say it’s something I would of personally have gone out to buy but I’m glad we had the chance to review and would definitely recommend or purchase as present for someone. I would definitely buy this for a present for someone. I would recommend as we had so much fun with this i would definitely recommend it. Easy to use, attractive to young audience. We really enjoyed spending time looking for objects from outside and around the house, from flowers to insects to food.  I would definitely recommend this item, it’s so easy to use for those little eyes and hands and it’s a great resource for learning.
