Globetrotter Clock

The Kidsleep product works by showing children in a simple, easy-to-understand way when it is time for them to get up, and when they should be staying in bed. When the child wakes up they simply look at the clock face – and the lit image on it will either show a sleeping animal (time to go back to sleep!) or a wide-awake animal (time to get up!).

The product looks small and compact.  Suitable for travelling with as it would not take up much space. The packagings were big enough and secure enough to house the product, therefore no unnecessary packaging. The pictures on the box gave enough information to understand what the product should be used for without having to read the box. The clock was very easy to set. My daughter loves the clock.  She points at it when it is bedtime. She understands the different sheep pictures and which one relates to “wakey time” and “sleepy time”. The first week was the settling in period with the clock. This did take a bit of time. However, once she understood that she had to remain in bed when the sheep was sleeping and that she could get out of bed when the sheep was awake and walking, we as parents managed to get a lot more sleep! (Especially at the weekends when we all got an extra hour in bed!) I would rate this much higher then a 5 if I could. My daughter remains in bed till the sheep gets up! She used to wake at 3am/4am and want to come into our bed to play, but now she only gets out of bed when she is supposed too. She now gets more sleep so is less cranky and much happier during the day. Much better! The plastic casing does look a bit flimsy; my daughter has already managed to snap the lid off.  I would have preferred it to have some kind of hook so I could have placed it higher up (high enough for her to view but not be able to touch).  However as it is only a travel clock and would only be used lightly and when out and about then the product’s quality is ok. I would have paid double what it its RRP is just for those extra hours of undisturbed sleep! I will be purchasing the bigger clock for my daughter’s room (as the travel clock is not really suitable for everyday use – as she has already damaged it) A great sleeping aid for all parents. Well packaged and presented and the instructions were very easy to follow. I think it would be better if the clock had a minus button as well as a plus button to change the time. Reuben loved helping to set the clock and having it on his bedside table. He stayed in bed until the lamb woke up and then proudly showed me the clock to prove it was time to get up! We reviewed this clock just at the right time, we had been having some very early wake up calls from Reuben but the clock really encouraged him to stay in his own room until the lamb woke up! Excellent Quality…Durable and has withstood a few drops on wood floor! Quite over-priced but maybe worth it for a lie-in! We will definitely continue using the clock and I already have recommended it to a few friends with early waking children! A very useful tool to help with early waking children! A small and compact clock. Brightly coloured, this appealed to the children. Not excessively packaged up, this is a nice surprise in this day and age. Clear concise instructions in many languages. Once I got the hang of which alarm or clock setting I was actually setting it was quite easy to use. I let both children switch the clock on for the night. Some days they couldn’t wait for the sun to come up, they were bored! Maybe I was overstretching it when they normally get up at 06.00 hoping to get then to stay till 7.00. Although we did try increasing time slowly. The 2 year old really didn’t have any concept of the sheep being asleep or awake. For a travel item I was pleasantly surprised. It appears quite robust although this hasn’t been put to the test. I think all this clocks are quite expensive, although unlike the character clocks that are on the market similarly priced this one will act as an alarm clock for older children. Certainly suitable for travel. Both children were given the character clocks for their birthdays recently, and have had less success. Smart compact little clock which could eliminate the  need to take a clock away as well, and which hopefully will train the children to stay in bed longer and let mum have a lie in occasionally! Have enjoyed testing this product and will continue to use this as we travel abroad quite frequently where there are time differences .However the children did come in bored that the sheep hadn’t woken up before them. I am now trying to set the clock earlier with the view of altering the times over as period of weeks and months rather than days, to see if we can achieve the objective.
