Elizabeth Awarded The History Heroes Kings and Queens Quiz Card Game 5/5
It looked fab, brightly coloured and visually appealing. Good for travel as it’s compact. Packaging bright, visually appealing with great graphics. Clear instructions and simple to follow. Love the flexibility of the rules to enable children of all ages to play. My son easily understood the game as quite a simple concept. Definitely easy to play although we stuck to the green (easier) facts as he’s not done the Kings & Queens of England/United Kingdom at school. The whole concept; learning should be fun and this makes learning about the kings and queens of England/United Kingdom fun. Learning should be fun! The younger children (5 & 2 yrs) struggled with it a bit just because they didn’t know the facts and got a bit annoyed they never won the cards, although they loved the concept and the pictures on the cards. A bit of help from Mummy and Daddy and playing in teams definitely increased their enjoyment. Quality is great, well packaged, beautifully printed and not too flimsy. It’s perhaps a little expensive for a pack of cards but actually when you look at their potential and how much learning and enjoyment can be got from them I think the price is not unreasonable. We would buy this game and in fact we look forward to buying and trying other History Heroes packs. I would recommend. Visually appealing and a fun educational tool that the kids don’t even realise they’re actually learning with. Definitely useful for travelling/holidays as it’s compact and lightweight but robust enough to travel with and there aren’t any little pieces to lose! We’ll definitely be buying and trying other History Heroes packs as the kids really enjoyed playing this. Elizabeth Fowle – Samuel 8 Years

Kirsty Awarded The History Heroes Kings and Queens Quiz Card Game 4.3/5
Good sized cards for little hands to hold, bright and colourful with full illustrations. The cards are a lovely size for kids to hold, the packaging is bright and colourful with fun illustrations on the front of the box, certainly eye catching. Instructions very clear and even give you other options to broaden the appeal of the game to younger ages which was useful as Hugh’s little sister wanted to play also. Yes he did understand the concept of the game. although given he didn’t know much about kings and queens we basically started from scratch and used the cards to learn about each king and queen. Easy (ish) as above we didn’t have much knowledge so we did have to start with separate bundles of cards and from there after a few plays add to the bundle which was fun as we began to talk about our favourite kings and queens. Without a doubt the game and it’s contents are extremely educational and a welcome break from YouTube videos!! We learned a lot about kings and queens that we didn’t know, what was great was Hugh has started a new topic at school-which is medieval castles so the game and cards were even taken into school for golden time! I think the cards will also come in handy over the
next few years as 8 years + is probably the minimum age to completely understand the concept of the game and it’s content. Hugh enjoyed it but his sister who is 4 got a little bored quite quickly, not convinced it’s for younger children but she did love all the illustrations and the joker facts. Perhaps folks with older kids 10+ would get more inclusive family time with it. The quality is super – the
cards are robust enough and a great size for kids – they do bend after a while but unfortunately that’s the same with all cards! I think it’s a great price given how long we spent looking and playing with them would much prefer to spend on something like this than buy two magazines for the kids which would collectively be more! would definitely be interested in purchasing more- especially if they have a broad spectrum of subjects. I would recommend as would be a great gift especially for older kids – perfect to travel with as well. As stated earlier, not convinced it is for all the family but on a one to one with my 8 year old he enjoyed learning about all the kings and queens and even as parents we learned a lot too! Will definitely hang onto it and continue to bring it out as my younger kids get older- lots of fun facts that appeal to kids. Lovely one to one time spent with Hugh learning about a new subject we wouldn’t normally explore Vibrant
illustrations with fun facts which sparked a lot of questions and conversations. Easy to pop in your handbag and bring out on journeys which was a welcome change from digital devices. Kirsty Fulton – Hugh 8 Years

Nicola Awarded The History Heroes Kings and Queens Quiz Card Game 3/5
Good packaging, looks a good game to play. the packaging was colourful and interesting, makes it looks easy to play and educational. The instructions are very basic but easy enough to follow. the children understood the concept eventually but my childminder had to help them out. my son played this game at his childminders with a 8 year old and 12 year old. they all said how hard it was, they have learnt history at school but hardly knew any of the answers. Unfortunately my children did not like this game as they found the questions very difficult to answer. the children struggled with the basic answers let alone the harder ones. Personally I feel this should be aimed at senior school children. I do feel the price is a bit high. I recommend this is aimed at 11+, especially for children who are doing more history at school. my son and his friends all said how hard they found it, they enjoy history at school but soon got bored and lost interest with this card game as they don’t know all the historic kings & queens.
