Just thought of this as a card game. When I realised what it was actually all about I liked it. Instructions easy to follow. It took Thomas a bit of getting used to playing this card game at first. He really did enjoy discovering famous Romans and history of their Gods. After playing the easier level for a while he was happy to progress to the higher level. This game would be played about 3 times a week. We played with 3 and sometimes 4 players got very competitive. This did keep my son entertained especially when he started to progress and winning. I do agree this is entertaining and educational. The competitive side kept it fun and we thought the educational side was brilliant. I agree the age was suitable for my child because he is studying Romans at school at present. I think my son enjoyed the competitive factor and he kept beating his Dad. I liked that it was a game we all could play and had great educational value. Quality was very good. This is good value and we have played a lot of hours with it now. I would buy this. It was not a screen game and something we could all play together and we all learned facts we didn’t know about before. I would recommend it because it created family time as well as education. Like I said for a product that wasn’t much money, good fun and we all learned from it and didn’t need to be plugged in using power I would definitely buy another series of it. This is educational, low cost, portable, no small parts that are easily lost. Also son got a star of the week at school because of his good knowledge of the Romans. Janice Hope – Thomas 9 Years

Liked the look of it. It was a good size packet which would easily go into a bag when travelling on train/plane. Very colour with clear images. Font on the bag is however a bit small. Loved the design on the back of the playing cards. Very visual. Good concept if your level of history is good!! Again the font was quite smaller, maybe it would have been better over two sides of the card. The instructions themselves were clear and liked the way it’s stayed other ways/clues to help play the game. The concept of the game is easy to understand but I question the age group. My son is only now developing history knowledge so it was restricted. Enjoyed reading out the facts, got a little frustrated when he didn’t know the answer. Tried it twice but by the second go, lost interest. We only played with two people. Unfortunately this game was not suited to my son and he lost interest. It’s fun learning the facts if you know the answers! Personally I feel this would be more suitable to senior school age children. My son liked the use of colours and imagery on the cards. Eye catching. I liked the use of colour and imagery on the cards. Again I felt very eye catching. The cards are of good quality. I personally would not buy this as I think this is more aimed at a slightly order age group (maybe senior) when the child’s history knowledge is more in depth. I would recommend for older children. Visually an attractive game, playability not so much for my sons age group. Wasn’t a favourite game to play but can see the attractiveness due to the design of the product. Will certainly keep for later years. Yudi Irvine – Henry 10 Years

This looked interesting when it arrived. Nice idea to get kids learning. Instructions easy enough to follow. My daughter did not find this game so easy to play. I feel for my daughter too much information and not age appropriate at all. I think you would either have to have an amazing memory or play regularly to have half a chance of knowing the answers. She was really excited to get this game to play with us but soon lost interest when she realised she didn’t know anything and there were a lot to get through. Might have been better to take out half the pack to get used to them and add more in over time. I had to keep encouraging her to play again. I think we played around 6 times but it was like pulling teeth and not enjoyable. We played as a family but none of us had much interest if I’m honest. If you are a history enthusiast or maybe GCSE age you may get more from it. Unfortunately my daughter lost interest in this card game very quickly. For us this was not fun or entertaining, but yes to being educational if the participants are more willing. I feel ae suitability should be older. My daughter is 10 but found it difficult. Less cards to begin with might have helped then add more in over time. She liked the idea of learning some history but soon got bored. There are ideas such as playing roman snap using the date symbols, however these were too small to play this really. Good quality and nicely presented. Overpriced for the enjoyment gained. Unfortunately this game did not engage our family. I would recommend it thy had a keen interest in Romans. For us this was not a game we enjoyed and feel it should be targeted to older children.
