How to Con Your Kid Book

Children bring boundless love, unbridled joy and overwhelming happiness into your life. They also bring temper tantrums, stubborn moods and strong wills. To deal with these obstinate emotions, parents often have to turn into hustlers, tricking their child into doing things that he or she refuses to do, such as getting dressed, holding still, trying new foods or going to sleep. Dirty Tricks for Parents gives parents tools to easily con their little one, from short one-line cons to longer, step-by-step scams. Learn the power of "magic" to convince your child to do practically anything, the value of having a stopwatch for timing how "fast" he can do something, and other tricks for keeping your kid clean, fed, clothed and happy – even if she would rather be dirty, hungry, naked and bored.

Nice size for easy flicking through. Love the hard cover, the pages are also of a very high quality, as are the pictures. Very nice looking book, attractive and easy size. Not seen other books like this, so I’d say it is a great unique book. I liked the "flick through” nature of the book, as a reference when I needed it. I have used quite a few of the tips already. I love the charts at the back;  I’ve copied those already and am starting to use them. I think the title – while funny – is quite misleading; it’s not about conning children, which I think would prevent people from buying it. It’s just some advice on how to deal with toddlers and preschool children, without having to shout at them constantly. I liked the ideas given, even though some of them were tricks I used already, there were many more ideas also. I think it’s a great gift for parents and worth its weight in gold, so I think £9.99 is a good price. I would definitely buy it, nice to have on hand! I’ve already recommended it to the mother’s at preschool! This is a great reference book, for flipping through when you need it. Also for reading ahead of time to give you some ideas of how to deal with preschool aged children without having to spend your life fighting to get things done. I highly recommend it! I think this book has some great ideas to help improve Childs behaviour and also an aid in helping them overcome some fears. I’d say this book is best suited to use with children aged around 2.5 to 8 years old. Lovely hard back wee book. Ideal size for popping in your bag and carrying around. Bold colours. Did not think the picture of the duck on front was a good idea as this could attract a child to a book that is only meant for parents. I have not seen any books similar to this one before. I feel my daughter of 10 was too old to use on and my son at 20 months is too young.  As my son gets older it will be fantastic and I will get lots of use out of it. I like the part about the doctor and dentist.  My son already has a fear of both these and I will use the books tips on future visits. Some excellent ideas and little songs that children will love to join in on them!  I think £6.99 would be better. £9.99 seems a little on the expensive side. YES I will use this book in the future and for many years to come. I would recommend as I feel this is a fantastic idea and a great book. Excellent advice but a bit overpriced. Fantastic tips for children aged between 2.5 and around 8.  Will be using this a lot when my son is older and will understand. Kirsty Robertson – Frankie 20 months
