Karate Cats And Kung Fu Dogs Card Game Reviews

Product Tested By Katie Loneragan – Jack & Harry – 12 & 8 Years

Katie Awarded The Karate Cats And Kung Fu Dogs Card Game 5/5

When this product arrived my first impression was that it was an attractive box which looked like the game would be good fun. We were really looking forward to playing the game as we loved the concept of Karate Cats and Kung Fu Dogs. Harry attends Karate lessons so it was of immediate interest to him. As a parent I was very interested in having a card game with a physical aspect to it, which is something different to usual card games. We were obviously very reliant on the instructions as this game was a brand new concept and they were very clear and concise. They were easy to follow and not too lengthy. Jack understood the instructions straight away and was ready to play. Harry, who is 8 years old understood the instructions and I just spent a little time doing a re-cap of the instructions for each cards before we started playing. Once we did this he was ready to get started! The children did find this game fast-paced and it became quicker as we played more and became more determined. The great thing about this game is that the pace is determined by how quickly you turn the cards, so we played it a little slower at the beginning to get used to the rules. This game is extremely competitive, and not just for the children. We play lots of card and board games but this definitely brought out the competitive side of all of us! I think the physical element of it gives the game another layer of fun that makes you more determined to get to the card first. For keeping the children entertained I would give this game a full 5 out of 5. Every time we have played it we have had at least 3 or 4 games as both children have wanted to keep playing. We played this games as a family and also with Harry’s 8 year old friends. Everyone enjoyed the game and there was lots of laughing. We have played this game about once a week since we have had it and each time played 3 or 4 games. It has been used very often and quickly became a family favourite. This is definitely a family games night kind of game. We have had so much laughter and competitiveness that it has quickly become a favourite game. It is ideal for all ages and it’s brilliant that anyone can win-you can’t plan ahead or have an edge over someone else and this makes it an equal playing field for everyone involved. Age and experience has no advantage in this game! I think the thing I like most about this card game is the physical element to it. You really are sat on the edge of your seat being determined to win! The children enjoyed the Karate chopping and also there being punishment for karate chopping the wrong card. They found this very amusing. This game is ideal to take on travels as it is compact and light. You only need a normal sized flat surface to play on and it takes no setting up time at all. I do think that 8 years plus is a suitable age for this game. There are a few cards which you need to know the rules for and would need to be able to remember these. Having said that, I think it would be suitable for some younger children to play. As I have said previously, the pace of the game is set by how quickly you turn the cards so it is possible to slow this down to allow a little more thinking time for any players that may need it. I would give the quality of the game a firm 5 out of 5. This would be for the quality of the product which has excellent graphics, lovely thick cards and cardboard but also the quality of the game itself. I definitely think this game offers value for money based on the number of times we have already played it. I would give it a 5 out of 5 as it is quick to set up and although the games themselves do not last too long we often end up playing numerous games. Now I have tested this product I would go on to buy it. It is great fun and we have no other game like it. I have already recommended this product to a friend and will continue to recommend to other parents with children of a similar age. I am confident that everyone will enjoy it and it’s great for families to play together. Overall I would give this game a 5 out of 5. It is a brilliant game of excellent quality. It takes very little time to set up and pack away but is very fun. We have laughed a huge amount playing this game. Anyone can win at any time and this makes it very competitive. All ages can play and everyone has found it really funny. Katie Loneragan – Jack & Harry – 12 & 8 Years

Looked good quality and compact. Love the concept. Feels similar to snap but more interesting and challenging. Very clear instructions, easy to understand. Ava did understand how to play this game. She found it very fast paced which added to the challenge. She did find it competitive as she had to be very quick to win. This did keep her entertained. She didn’t want to stop playing because she found it really interesting and was more determined to win each round. We played as a family, and all thoroughly enjoyed it. We would play this game at least a couple of times a week. It is great for family game nights. It’d complex enough to not be boring but not too complex for children to understand the rules. Mostly, I like the variety of different cards and how they changed the game play. My daughter loved the characters. It is ideal to pack away and travel with because it is so compact. I personally feel 8 years plus is good but some younger children would also enjoy this game. I was really impressed with the quality. The characters and cards feel very sturdy. I think it is slightly overpriced due to its compact nature. Unfortunately we would not buy this, because although we found it very fun, everyone’s hands were very sore after being too enthusiastic with the karate chops. I would recommend and outline the involvement of the karate chopping. I absolutely love the concept and that it is compact enough to pack away. Overall, as a family, we enjoyed playing the game and will use it again. If there was something you could use to karate chop other than your actual hand, I think it would be better Katherine Inufusa – Ava 10 Years

I thought it looked quite good. Thought the concept was good. Instructions clear and easy to follow. M son understood perfectly how to play this game, in fact he told me how to play it. This is a very fast paced game which my son enjoyed. This game is very competitive and my son loved to compete and win. This did keep him entertained when we first received the game. This was played with friends and also family and enjoyed by all. This would be played once a week. I do agree this would be an ideal game for family game nights. The times we played as a family together we all enjoyed the game. My son liked that is was fast paced and competitive. I liked the fact it can be enjoyed by all the family. This is small and compact so easy to take on holiday with you. The age suitability 8 years plus is spot on. I think for older children the interest wavers, btu for a younger child can see it being ideal. This is a good quality game and well worth the money. I would buy this as a gift. Would recommend and good entertainment for all the family. Janice Hope – Tom 10 Years
