Looked very premium and good quality, I like that the box contains the game and isn’t difficult to get back in the box, this makes putting it away a lot quicker. I thought the concept was good and teaches children to take turns and meant our little one had to concentrate; she also got to practice her colours and improve her matching skills. I thought the instructions were clear and easy to follow and were not too long or complex. I really liked the addition of the quick play start rules as little people don’t want to read through lots of rules they just want to get started. My little one found the game quite easy to play once she got used to the rules, and had fun playing, she loved getting a dragon and building the castle. My little girl loved the knight and dragons theme she got excited when she got a dragon as they are her favourite. This game has been mainly designed to help with matching skills but the little ones also have to remember the rules and what to do when certain cards are drawn so did help with memory too. This game did help little one to improve her matching skills as she had to match the tops to the bottoms, and also had to match the castle pieces. To be fair my little one is very good at colour recognition already but she enjoys saying what the colours are and telling us what she needed so was good practice. We played as a family and even had to have a card so my 1yr old could join in; our little one insisted we played as a family as she loved the game so much. My little girl loved this game and wanted to play it again and again. We’ve played the game quite a few times now, we can only play it when we have a good bit of free time as the game itself doesn’t take too long to play, but our little one is always wants to play again and again. I agree that this is educational as they have to following instructions, so need to listen to what they are being told, they would also learn or help to learn colours playing the game and they need good observational skills to keep an eye on what is happening and to see when the castle is nearly built. I think that this is a good age range for this game; I think younger children would possibly be able to play but they would struggle in parts. I think this is a well-made product all the pieces are good quality and feel sturdy, we have had other games from orchard in the past and they have been to the same great standard, the print is good quality and all the cards have rounded edges. I liked the fact that it is easy to play and there is a quick play guide in the instructions so the little ones aren’t getting bored before you start to play while you read the rules.  I liked that it was very easy to set up and put away. I would consider buying this product and we have since purchased a couple more games to give at Christmas. They’re good wholesome games. I have recommend this product to friends and family as it’s nearly Christmas and would make great stocking fillers, they are reasonably priced and would also make a great birthday present. I think the product is well made and has been thought through really well; the concept of the game is easy to pick up and play and is fun for little people and grownups too. We all really enjoyed playing the knights and dragons game and it has become a family favourite, even when we’ve played it 10 times in a row. Bethan Lloyd – Lily 4 Years

It looked typical of Orchard Games. Fun, good quality, nice small compact box.  A nice twist on the usual match / memory style game.  Instructions self-explanatory. Also like that these are available online. The game was sent to grans and was returned without the instructions – since I, as the adult, hadn’t played before I wasn’t sure how to play but I was able to find and print another set of instructions easily. The dragon bit confused her for a wee while but she got the hang of it! She liked the characters in the game.  I think this game is less about memory but more about matching and observation. Other orchard games would probably be better if the aim was specifically about improving memory skills. Romy is pretty good at this anyway but she enjoyed playing none the less and liked stealing off Mummy when she got the right dragon! This game would be good for improvement with children who hadn’t quite got this yet. Romy is pretty good with colour recognition but she enjoyed playing none the less. This game would be good for improvement with children who hadn’t quite got this yet.  She just played with mummy and granny.  Played this game in two’s only.  This did keep her entertained.  We would play this a few times each week. This is a good educational game for colour and matching.  This is age appropriate but I do feel a 3 year old could also play this.  Orchard toys are always good value.  Orchard is just really clever with the dun classic games given a modern twist.  I would buy this and would recommend. As usual the Orchard games offer good fun, a quality item, and good value for money. Kelda McMichael – Romy 4 Years

It looked a fun and educational game. I like the concept of having fun while learning. Instructions were clear and easy for a child to grasp.  All 3 of my children found it easy to play. Kai liked the theme as he likes dragons. This did help with memory skills, matching skills and colour recognition.  All my children played this game together.  The game itself was not as entertaining as others we have and they became bored quickly.  They would play this a few times a week.  This is a good educational game as it helps them learn via play.  This is age appropriate as at 4 most children learn through play and understand what to do.  Personally I feel this game is a bit pricey.  I liked that you can play different games with the cards. If it were a bit cheaper I would consider buying it as it helps children learn. I would recommend as a good educational game.  My children soon became bored of the game, but I like how it helps them with their skills whilst still being relatively fun. My overall experience is that it’s a good product for young children; children can make different characters by using their imagination. It’s good for motor and thinking skills.
