My first impression of the lemon drizzle cake kit was that
it came very neatly packaged with lovely clear instructions and would be very
quick and easy to throw together with minimal mess and fuss. The packaging was
a nice small box, no excess packaging. Label was attractive and clear. You know
what you are getting inside. Instructions were clear, concise and easy to read.
I really like the way it divides the process into 3 sections. The butter
measure card is a nice touch but a little unnecessary as most butter blocks of
all brands now do this already. The cake was very simple to make and you only
needed to add a couple of items from the fridge. I really liked the way the
ingredients came in small re-sealable bags. Nothing had leaked in my pack and
it all felt very clean. My one concern is that baking instructions were 140
degrees for fan assisted oven for 35-40 minutes. I have a new fan assisted oven
and it had been preheated for 30 minutes but it still took over an hour to bake
so I would guess the oven needs to be hotter or the baking time needs to be increased.
They tasted great. The amount of lemon was perfect. The icing on top is a nice
touch. This cake is not a healthy treat and I personally would not make them
regularly for my child but would definitely enjoy as a rare treat for the whole
family. Quality was good. It was essentially ingredients in a baking tray but
the flour does state where it came from. It does offer value for money; I think
it is priced well for what it offers. I would buy this product again for adults
but not as an activity for me and my daughter as I feel I would rather measure
and add all the ingredients ourselves and maybe make one with a little less
sugar. I like the fact that the only ingredients you have to add are the ones
that you are likely to have in your fridge already. It does minimise mess and
is easy to recycle at the end. I would recommend this to friends and family
that were looking for an easy cake mix with minimal fuss but not specifically
to friends with young children. It does exactly what it says on the tin and I
am not sure anybody could find fault with what it offers inside. I felt that
this lemon drizzle cake kit is packaged neatly and could be easily stored in a
cupboard for a rainy day. The instructions are clear and easy to follow and I
really like the way the ingredients are stored in small re-sealable bags. The
added baking tray is a nice touch but I think the butter measure card is
unnecessary. This isn’t something I would buy to do with my daughter
specifically but they tasted great and were well received by the adults. The
wastage was very minimal and the packaging was all easily recycled. Overall
this is a really easy way of making tasty lemon drizzle cake and I felt I got

My first impression of this product was appealing packaging
also a brilliant idea that it comes with a tin to bake it in as it is the right
size for the product. The packaging is brilliant; it is appealing and catches
the eye too. The instructions were really easy to follow. Fool proof for people
who aren’t used to baking. It was really easy to make; I was happy with this as
I thought it would be complicated as I have never made lemon drizzle cake
before. The taste is not to my taste as I don’t particularly like lemon.
However my partner and brother in law said it was delicious. The quality is really
good as it doesn’t taste like a packet mixed cake as some of the packet makes
can be disgusting. I think it is a bit pricey compared to other similar
products on the market especially as you still have to buy quite a few other
ingredients. I would consider buying this to make for my partner as a treat. We
have already recommended this to my nan who loves to bake and often makes lemon
drizzle cakes for her cake sales. This is a lovely easy to make product with
brilliant instructions which any one can follow. I would say that this would be
a good product to make with the kids and to have some fun baking in the

My initial impression of this product was good. The
packaging was ok but because everything was pre-weighed there were a lot of
plastic bags involved. They were quite thin bags and I found that they were
easily ripped. Instructions were good and easy to follow. However, I did find
that the baking time at 140 degrees in a fan assisted oven was massively
underestimated. The cake took over an hour before it was baked properly. I
found the cake very easy to make but found all the different bags to deal with
quite fiddly. The taste was ok; it was VERY sweet though and not something I’d
want to give my daughter in large quantities. The aluminium tin was rather thin
and prone to distorting when carried around with or without cake mixture in.
Not the best thing to use when looking after a toddler at the same time. I find
just under £7 quite expensive. I was expecting a little more from the taste. It
was very sweet and therefore not particularly child friendly. I did not find it
easier than weighing out ingredients myself. It may be useful to mums and dads
