Lumie Bedbug

Bedbug offers fully adjustable bedside lighting to change, feed and settle your child ready for bed. Whether you have the light dimmed down low or bright for bedtime stories, Bedbug emits white light with almost none of the stimulating blue light that might keep them awake. When it’s time to sleep, Bedbug’s gradual sunset feature provides a gentle transition to nighttime. Fading light that mimics the colours of a real sunset creates a calm environment and further promotes your child’s natural sleep response. You can let the sunset fade to complete darkness or use the nightlight feature to provide a reassuring orange glow throughout the night. Smooth and silent light control allows you to check on your child and provides illumination without the part of the light spectrum that trigger wakefulness – so you can both slip easily back to sleep.Recommended by Sarah Ockwell-Smith, parenting expert and author of the bestselling ‘The Gentle Sleep Book’.Fully adjustable bedside lighting Low-blue light (white light with very low levels of blue) to avoid stimulation during the bedtime routine 15-minute sunset for a gradual transition to night – Two sunset options: fade-to-off or fade-to-nightlight – Non-alerting orange nightlight with two light intensity options – Smooth and silent light control to check on your child without disturbing them.

Attractive packaging
item looks well made. It’s a great concept as it can be used for both a bedtime
reading light and then dimmed to be used as a nightlight without having to
switch between two lights. Instructions for set up were great but it was not
made very clear how to use all the different functions that the lamp has, like
the dimming mode etc. Fortunately, after a couple of uses, these were easy
enough to figure out. The set up was really easy! It was literally just a
matter of plugging the lamp in and you’re ready to go! I really do think that
the lack of stimulating light has helped with my daughters sleep. I used to
find that regular nightlights didn’t emit enough light so I would keep our
landing light on for her. She often woke in the night and struggled to get back
to sleep and I think this was caused by the bright light outside her room. I
tried out all the functions and found them to be useful. The sunset option is
great for reading a bed time story in the bright light and then letting it fade
gradually to whichever intensity you prefer without a sudden change in
brightness. I’m convinced that this light has helped my daughter to sleep
better at night. She definitely does not wake as often and if she does, she
tends to drift off again quite easily without being too disturbed. The light
was great for checking on my daughter during the night. I was able to keep all
main lights off and still have enough brightness to see her clearly. I love the
whole concept of being able to have an adequate light that will not disturb my
daughter’s sleep. Also, being able to change the brightness and colour of light
is really versatile. The lamp is very cute to look at and a substantial size
without being too big. It is very solid and looks like it will last a long
time. Overall it is great quality. This isn’t a particularly cheap product but
as it helps my daughter to have a better night’s sleep, it is definitely worth
the money. I think it’s a great, innovative product and I would definitely buy
it. I have already recommended it to my sister and friends who have young
children and they are keen to try it for themselves. I really do love this
lamp! It’s a great concept as it can be used for both a bedtime reading light
and then dimmed to be used as a nightlight without having to switch between two
lights. The best part about it though is the fact that it emits hardly any blue
light which stimulates children making it harder for them to get a great night’s
sleep. You can change the intensity of the light to suit you and your child’s
needs and it is sure to be a really useful addition to your child’s bedroom for
years! Heather McCartney – Lily 22 Months

This was a
good looking product that was easy to use functional. Fantastic that you get 2
in 1 for this product as it grows with the needs of your child. Once she no
longer needs a night light she has a bedside lamp. The instructions were fairly
straight forward. Very easy setup. Just plug in and you can then set the light
to the settings you want. This was a comfort to my child as she wasn’t as
bothered with me closing the bedroom door. It is hard to tell if the white
light helped her sleep quicker. This was the feature I was looking forward
to the most. The fading out was affective and kept my daughter calm as she
transitioned to sleep. I did not use all the functions as there was no need
too. She settled well when the Bedbug was on and we didn’t need to try
out to many settings after the first week. It was helpful to see her sound
asleep with the functions of the light which is dim and not too bright to
disturb her sleep and I could easily check on her. I liked the look of the
product as it was appealing to my child’s eye and the dim night light setting
which helped her settle at night. Excellent, well-made and sturdy product. I
think the night light is a little expensive for what it is. I would not personally purchase at this
price. I would however recommend as it
works well. The night light was helpful in aiding my child’s bedtime
routine. My daughter would get excited every time I turn it on. The product was
easy to use and didn’t need much doing to it after the initial set up. All in all . a good product. THE price point
seems a little high but I would still recommend it to friends. Salma Akhtar –

The character
is very cute and the idea of it was very clever – it felt like a good quality
product. Great concept. My 5 year old loves it – only issue is I often go into
his bedroom when I’m going to bed and he’s switched it on himself full blast
and then fallen asleep so it’s like day time in his room!! This didn’t happen
with my younger child and the gradualdimming to a night light was a
clever idea. Instructions simple and easy to understand. It’s a fairly
simple device. Very easy plug it in and go! As I said above, I’d go into my
sons bedroom when I wasgoing to bed and he’d haveswitched it on
himself full blast and then fallen asleep so it’s like day time in his
room!!But it clearly didn’t keep him awake. I did use these functions and
loved them – the two intensity options gave a choice of use for the days my
children were more ‘frightened of the dark/monsters’ than normal! It’s hard to
say if it helped them sleep better, as I used a small not as fancy night light
already. I think it certainly would for children who are afraid of the darkor
who were new to being in a room of their own. And my son loved being able to
control it himself. Could bump up the intensity a little bit for nappy changes
or to find the teddy bear in the dark – that was a great feature! No need to
use the torch on my phone!! I really liked the 15 minute dim down feature. I
thought the packaging was good quality and the actual night light was child
friendly and robust if kids were handling it. I personally would not pay £59.99
for this – however cute and clever it was. In essence it’s a fancy night light
and you can pick up boring plug into the wall ones for next to nothing. I
personally wouldn’t have paid any more than £24.99. But I think others would
maybe pay up to £34.99? I would consider purchasing if saw it on offer. I would recommend but highlight the price. The
product was clearly good quality, and was a clever, but actually fairly simple idea.
It was easy to use – literally child’s play and it reminded me a little bit of
the code-a- pillar with its facial features. The children thought it was cute
and welcomed it in their bedrooms and it fitted nicely into a child bedroom. It
didn’t automatically look like a nightlight – it looked like a toy. Kelda
