When the Lumie Bodyclock arrived I was impressed by the simple yet informative packaging. I think the Bodyclock Active 250 is a great concept, and you can tell lots of research has gone into the idea and production of this product. Sleep has such an important role in keeping us healthy physically and mentally, and this product is a great aid to help you achieve the rest you need. I was happy that the instructions were very clear and easy to understand. Setting the clock up is simple and once you have done it; it is very easy to change your preferred settings without having to constantly refer back to the instruction manual. Although I wasn’t consciously aware of the brightening sunrise light coming on, I definitely feel that this massively helped me feel more awake and less tired when the alarm went off and I woke up. It’s almost as if the light gradually wakes your body up so that when the alarm goes off it’s not a sudden jolt out of a deep sleep. Having had 3 children in the last 5 years, my sleep routine has been pretty non-existent. The Bodyclock has gently helped me regulate my sleep routine and improved my overall feelings of tiredness.I tested all of the different wake up options, but was not keen on the wake up sounds so did not set these to wake me up in the mornings. My favourite settings are the 60 minute sunrise with the FM radio station on a low/medium volume. I feel that using the 60 minute option helps to wake me up more gently over a longer period and the low volume radio then fully wakes me without being too loud/abrupt. I have used the slow fading sunset option a few times and found it to be really effective in helping my mind/body wind down and relax into sleep. It’s a great addition to have, that compliments the sunrise option to help improve your overall sleep quality/routine. The Bodyclock has improved not just my sleep routine but my whole day. I no longer wake up feeling lethargic and not wanting to get out of bed, I now wake up feeling refreshed and ready to go, which has improved my overall productivity and mood. I am finding that I have much more energy in the mornings to get jobs done, which in turn leaves me feeling happier and less stressed throughout the rest of the day. I think I tried most/all of the options on the Bodyclock and found that the 60 minute sunrise and radio wake up sounds worked best for me. I now use this every weekday morning as an alarm clock, I use the radio function on its own when I am upstairs cleaning/putting washing away etc., and I use the light on an evening when I’m reading in bed. I love that this is designed to be multifunctional, so you can use a couple of settings together (wake up light and sounds) but also use each individual function on its own. I no longer need to have a separate clock, lamp and radio; the Lumie Bodyclock active 250 replaces all of them and doesn’t lose any of the quality. This product is excellent quality, each function works brilliantly. The sounds are clear and radio easily found signal, it’s great to have a light that can be dimmed/brightened and not just stuck on one setting. The Bodyclock is great value for money for the amount of different functions it has, let alone the improved quality of sleep, productivity and general wellbeing. I would definitely buy this product; I would love to get one for my children as they get a bit older.I have already recommended the Bodyclock to my mum, and will be continuing to recommend to friends and family. Overall I think this is a fantastic product, that has hugely improved my life already and I know it will continue to do so. I have already gone from feeling tired when I wake up and not having the energy to get much achieved in the mornings, to getting up an hour earlier than usual and feeling fully rested and energised so I can get some jobs done before the kids wake up.This has so many different functions and settings that I’m sure there is something that will work for everyone. I love how the sunset function can help you unwind and relax into a deep sleep, and then then sunrise function very gently and effectively wakes you up feeling refreshed and ready to start your day.For a product that does so much to improve your sleep routine and general wellbeing it is surprisingly easy to use. It is great that it can also be used on its own as a lamp with lots of levels of brightness, or a radio so replaces the need to have lots of separate products. I would highly recommend this product and would love to see Lumie design a children’s version. Jenny Rockell – Reuben, Isaac, Gabriel – 4, 3 and 1 year

Good Packaging, clear wording and pictures. Box not cluttered with pictures and text. Very good concept I often get a shock as the alarm goes off in the morning so I was very intrigued to try it, if a little sceptical about it actually working! Clear instructions, used pictures to explain each step, button and function. Had to read through a couple of them a few times to make sure it was correct though as wording was slightly unclear. Overall easy to follow. Still felt tired but that’s with having children waking you up during the night! But overall I found that I was more awake when I woke up using this clock and it was much easier to take that first step out of bed. I did feel this helped regulate my sleep routine. I do feel more refreshed but my sleep pattern is pretty stable I wake around the same time most days due to work. I didn’t use the radio setting but used the other 3. Wake up sounds – I found that I didn’t always wake up with the sunrise setting and occasionally needed my alarm to go off; however using the wake up sounds woke me up better. Although I was still more awake when using the sunrise settings. I used the sunset option and still do but I’m unconvinced it actually helps me get to sleep, however my wife says it’s helped a lot. I did feel this helped me wake up gradually and boost my mood levels, feel more relaxed. I tried most of the options, the wake up sounds worked best as it always woke me up and I have never needed my alarm as back up, however the sunrise setting was still beneficial yet didn’t always bring to full wakefulness.I used this every morning on a work day (5-6 times a week). This is unassuming – it blends in nicely with the room, the design is good that it will fit nicely in most bedrooms. Not square or clunky shape either. Seems well made, no issues with it so far. At the price above I’m not sure that it is worth it above other alarm clocks unless you have trouble getting out of bed in the morning and often sleep in past the alarm. I would happily recommend it though as a good product if you’re not on a budget. I would consider buying as good product and has helped me feel more awake in the mornings. I would recommend for the same reasons.Price pulls it down from being a 5 – seems well made and lots of different settings to suit anyone. Has made a difference in my morning routine. Overall, very happy with it, will continue to use it at home, hopefully for a long time! Nathan Gregory – William and Frederick – 2 years & 10 Months

Looked nice packaging when arrived. Shows exactly what the product looks like. Didn’t make me think it was anything more than an alarm clock, maybe some more emphasis on updated evidence and benefits. Instructions easy to follow, 12 pages of instructions but they are simple and easy to follow. Unfortunately I did not find this helped much at all. This could be due to the fact it is summer and thee is a lot of natural light at this time of the year. I would suggest that regulating sleep routine is more than just having a clock such as this. Therefore I don’t think it helped me achieve regulation. Perhaps if the clock was accompanied by a top tips guide to help improve sleep hygiene then in conjunction it would work well. I didn’t try all options, but did try the 15 min sunrise (instead of my typical phone snooze). I also found that the limos provided a range of sounds which would suit most tastes. I preferred the waves but again that quite subjective. It’s great that FM is also an option. I preferred the radio option, although this again is a personal preference. The fact it can be adapted is great as it can meet many customer needs. I used the fade to sleep mode. It was quite relaxing and I did find that a combination of taking time to relax and utilising this clock helped me to fall asleep. But I wouldn’t suggest it was the clock alone that helped me achieve this. I would say it did help me wake up gradually and feel more relaxed. I think for most working parents, mornings are far from relaxing! I imagine that the target audience for this product is of a higher age range. I tried it for a whole week before I defaulted back to using the alarm on my phone. I liked the simple design, for the price I’d have expected the materials to perhaps be a little more top end. I would also imagine that the smaller button may be difficult for those with poor eye sight. Again if the product is marketed at the elderly population who are reported to have issues with sleep regulation then reviewingthe design with this age group may help. A bulb is also required, I’m not sure as to the frequency that this would need changing, currently the bulbs available at a cost of £4.99 plus postage and packaging. Didn’t feel too robust, a little flimsy but equally this meant it was lightweight. It’s not the smallest of items so would need a dedicated place within the bedroom. I would suggest this product is overpriced for what functions it has. Many functions are available via apps which also monitor sleep rhythms, and also sleep hygiene factors such as time to bed, sleep habits i.e. Television in the bedroom etc. I personally would not purchase this product as too pricey for what it is. I did not feel the full benefits of this product and did not really work for me. Jen Gilroy
