Make Tracks: Farm Reviews

This arrived very well wrapped.  My daughter loved pointing at the tractor and animals on the front cover. My daughter loves moving the vehicles around. She loved finding the five different farm vehicles. She loves finding them and moving them around.  This book did help her improve her vocabulary and  she loves the tractor and point at the different parts of the tractor. This certainly kept my daughter entertained. We would read this 2/3 times a week.  The background on the pictures the animals are quite small to point out.  My daughter just loved the tractor. I liked the interactive moving bits.  I felt the age suitability was ideal as she is at a good age to use the book for learning to move the vehicles and pointing things out. Certainly a high quality book and good value. Very sturdy book with lots of stuff in it to look at. I would consider buying this book as good sized book with lots in it. I would recommend for the same reason. Very good product for children and very well made all wrapped up nice when delivered. Easy to turn pages and slide the vehicles around. “Wow” we’re the words of my 4 year old when I removed the book from its packaging. I concur: the book looks well-made and fun. We were excited to sit down to read it together. My 4 year old was immediately engaged by the front cover. My 4 year old really enjoyed interacting with the book. The counter on one page got a bit stuck once or twice but generally he found it very easy to navigate. Most of the focus of the book was on the moving parts but only because he is already an ‘expert’ in farm vehicles. A year ago, he would have spent a lot more time on the lovely pictures of the farm vehicles. My son really enjoyed the different journeys he could take on the different pages and the little questions along the way (e.g. how many sheep can you see). I think 12-18 months ago this absolutely would have done just that. The diagrams are simple clear. I will definitely be introducing it to my 22 month olds soon as their interest in farm vehicles grows. The book was great at keeping my child entertained. He really enjoyed the interaction and made up little stories for each page. We read this book every day for about a week and now we come to it once or twice a week. this is probably more than we would with any other new book. Great illustrations. I’m not sure there is much of a story in the book per se but they enabled the imagination of my little boy to make his own. My son loved the novelty of the interaction and the little questions.  I liked the same. The counter really gives you the opportunity to get hands on with the book and engage with. I think this is a fair price for this book. The book feels well made from quality products. I would buy this book and I would buy other books in the range were they to ever be released. I would recommend and buy as a gift. Fantastic book with a novel approach to engaging children in a story. This book would be perfect for a 2/3 year old with an interest in vehicles. Children can interact, make up stories, or just race round the various tracks. It’s a half book, half toy and offers plenty for you and your child to do together as you work through each page. I really enjoyed spending time with my son and this book and would completely recommend to others. Louise Hall – Son 4 Years

Loved the concept, knew Maia would enjoy as she loves cars/buses etc. Maia liked moving the counter on the front of the book and wanted to turn the pages. Maia loved the interactivity but did not want to wait for me to read before she wanted to turn the page to try the next one! She became frustrated that she couldn’t remove the counters though of course this is good as they don’t pose a choking risk! Maia loved the counters and is very preoccupied with these! I expect she will be more interested in the other aspects of the book such as the vehicles when she is older! Maia loved the counters and is very preoccupied with these! I expect she will be more interested in the other aspects of the book such as the vehicles when she is older! My child loved the counter and moving it around, so much so I don’t expect the book to stay in one piece for very long but so far so good! This has not helped Maia learn vehicle vocabulary yet as she has not developed much vocabulary from the basics but I can see this being useful in the future! This book did keep her entertained and Maia enjoyed moving the counters and looking at the pictures! This book lives on Maia’s bookcase in our living room and she pulls it out at least once a day! I loved the pictures that helped set the scene to the story! Maia liked moving the counters and making the brum brum noises as she moved them! I like that it is educational as teaches the different farm vehicles as well as fun and interactive! I think this book would be best suited around the age 2 mark for full benefit as my child is 20 months and would happily tear it up and isn’t too interested by the story yet so I feel a younger child may feel the same! However, a much younger child that wouldn’t hold the book themselves or an older child that has the attention span to be read to I’m sure would find it much easier to follow! I would happily pay the money for this product as I know my child likes it however it might be slightly more than I would pay as a first time reader/buyer. I think £6.99/£7.99 might be more successful! I thought this book would get shredded as my child tried to remove the counters but it is still holding up well! I would buy this as it is something a bit different and entertaining. I would recommend as it is an all round great product that children would love. A great product, 4/5 for my daughters age but I expect she will love it as she grows! Great concept and design, look forward to buying similar products! Rhianydd Wray – Maia 20 Months
