I thought the packaging was really smart- the clear plastic made it easy to see the monkey and its size. I liked the fact that there wasn’t a huge amount of unnecessary plastic packaging which is a pet peeve of mine. I think it’s a brilliant idea. Teethers can often be boring and functional but making it an animal design makes it appealing to babies and can also be used as a toy. My daughter knows what I mean when I refer to her monkey. We didn’t use the instructions as its fairly self-explanatory how to use the teether. I really liked the design. The teether is small enough for little hands but big enough for peace of mind that it won’t be accidentally swallowed. The material feels really durable and that it wouldn’t break off if bitten too hard. I loved the monkey design and thought it was really cute. The bright colour means it’s easy to spot in a bag or amongst other toys. My baby finds it really easy to hold with one or both hands and has taken to twirling it around on one finger! My daughter loves small little toys and always seeks out her teether to play with. I think the different texture definitely helps with providing some friction on sore gums, but we found it most effective when teething gel was also applied onto the brush. The teething applicator  was a very effective extra feature. Teething gels are so slippery and virtually impossible to apply to a baby’s gums. The brush holds the gel in place and allows it to be distributed easily over gums when baby chews on it. My daughter uses it every day as a general toy she likes to twirl around on her fingers, but we use it as a teether every couple of weeks. I use it to keep my daughter occupied in the car seat or in the pram. I noticed this helped relieve her teething pain virtually straight away. It’s the perfect size for smaller hands and the fact that it’s a textured rubber means it’s easy for baby to keep a grip of it. I couldn’t comment on the effectiveness of the coating, but it’s definitely an easy toy to keep clean and to sterilise. I think it’s excellent quality. the material feels durable without being too hard or rigid for babies’ gums and you can tell a lot of thought has been put into it to make it the right size and shape for a baby’s hands to hold. it feels like the teether will last the whole duration of teeth coming through, and for my daughter, it’s multifunctional as a teether and toy. I loved the cute monkey design. I thought it was really clever how the head doubles up as the brush and the arms as the handles/an additional bit to chew! I would definitely consider buying it. I think it’s good value for money and does the job really well. We also have a Sophie teether and my daughter much prefers this one! I have already recommended to friends as an effective teether to help soothe pain. I think for the low price even if your baby doesn’t like it you won’t have lost a huge amount of money. I think it’s a really well thought out product to help out practically with teething pain. It feels really hard wearing and is just the right size for tiny hands! My daughter is a little bit older so took to this product really well- she was able to hold it easily and move it between each hand. We found it most effective when used with a teething gel applied to the brush. I like the fact that it’s a small product so it doesn’t take up too much room in a changing bag. I personally worry about choking hazards when it comes to toys, but this is just the right size for small hands and feels durable enough that you don’t feel like it would break easily. I thought it looked lovely, really nicely packaged-very attractive and nicer than lots of baby toys/teethers. I think it’s a great idea, plenty of different bits for baby to hold and chew on. Simple but effective. I’m afraid I didn’t even clock any instructions! I just read the info on the packaging and we started using it straight away! The info on the packing was great though! I think the design works well. It’s easy for my son to hold, and also nice and light so he can easily move it from hand to hand. I think having the knobbly bits on the head is clever. My baby found this very easy to hold. The monkey isn’t too heavy, nor too thick for little hands to grasp, and  it naturally led to a two handed hold. The plastic wasn’t slippy and he didn’t drop it as easily as some of his other teethers. he certainly doesn’t let go of it easily! We use a dummy clip just in case he gets distracted and loosens his grip on it but that’s rare! He will hold his hand out for it when he sees it. it really did seem to help with the pain, I’m assuming that was due to him being distracted by the chewing motion, as well as the bumps. Roan did like to use monkey upside down and often would chew the feet end instead of the bumpy head bit, but when he did I could see he was moving it around his  mouth and seemed more content. we don’t actually use any gels or granules, so I can’t say how effective this is-however looking at the design I’m sure it works a treat. We used most days and we have a Bickiepegs Peggy the penguin too and rotate them so when one is in the steriliser he has the other one. Used mostly at home although we did take it to grandparents’ house a few times but I attached it to him via a dummy clip. This eased his teething pain pretty quickly really it was probably within the first couple of hours of giving it to him. He was less grumpy and concentrating on chomping on poor monkey! This does help develop essential motor skills due to it being lightweight and easy to grasp design is great for this. Roan quickly mastered grabbing monkey and passing it from hand to hand as well as turning him around in his fingers. I think the fact it is quite dainty and has lots of hand hold areas really helps. it certainly doesn’t harbour bits of dirt in the same way as some of his other teethers so is much easier to clean. So yes I’d probably agree it’s more hygienic-more to do again with design (less nooks and cranny’s than anything else!). We really like it-it comes nicely packaged and looks really smart, it’s easy to use, and does “what it says on the tin” so to speak! The plastic it’s made from is very durable and is showing no signs of wear and tear as yet. Yes good value simply because it’s used a lot! We have other cheaper teethers that he’s just not that bothered about, but monkey he loves, so it’s worth that little bit extra as it gets so well used. I loved the ease with which my son could grab it as so many teethers don’t take into account little hands, and their ability to grab and hold on, nor weight of the item. Monkey is much better for this as he’s so light and easy to hold and move. I would buy this.  As I have said the amount of use it’s had since we received it means it’s definitely worth the money and it does the job! I would recommend and I bought one for a friends child who’s just started teething. It’s a great little teether. Lightweight, well designed, easy to clean and really seems to help my son when his teeth are hurting. It’s a thumbs up from us! Personally I think the monkey is a great teething toy, it is certainly more popular with my son than teething keys and mitts that we’ve tried before. As I said I’ve already bought one as a gift! I’d certainly recommend it. Elaine Muir – Roan 8.5 Months

The Matchstick monkey is a cute toy and a nice bright colour. It’s a great tactile teething toy, soft and easy for my daughter to hold by the monkeys arms or tail. minimal instructions provided, more information in relation to the purpose of the product, but they do explain how to clean the monkey. The design meant it was easy for her to grip and the rough textured area seemed to massage her gums and provide teething relief. my daughter found this easy to hold, she picked it up by the arms straight away as soon as I gave it to her. My daughter didn’t form a bond with her animal teether, she much prefers cuddly toys. The material of the textured bumps was firm enough to provide relief to sore gums, but soft enough to be comfortable, my daughter liked to gnaw on it when she was teething. The teething applicator did not work for gel, it kept slipping off, however it did work well for teething granules. I gave this teether to my daughter every day as part of her toy box. The teether was mainly used at home. The teether helped with the my daughters teething pain within a few days. Matchstick monkey is small and light with lots of loops to grasp and different surfaces so my daughter could have a really good chew of the teether at various angles in a natural sitting pose. It also helps with hand and eye coordination, as she guides it to her mouth. The teether does get a bit grubby but is easily washed and wiped. The teether seems robust and being made from enclosed rubber will not grow mould spores. It’s a little on the expensive side compared to other teething products, however it is comparable with the leading brands. I liked the fact It’s made out of soft flexible rubber and is a good size for my daughter to hold. I would buy this as there is a good variety of bends and textures and the resistance of the rubber is perfect to soothe my daughters gums. I would recommend as it’s the perfect shape and size for little hands with plenty of colourful and smooth rubber limbs for chewing. The monkey head allows teething gel / powders to be placed directly on it and my daughter could chew the textured head to soothe her gums directly where it hurts. The arms and tail allow her to hold and grasp it easily and she can chew any part of the toy. Mairi Mackenzie – Aisling 10 Months
