Munchkin Click Lock Snack Catcher

Ideal for feeding snacks to toddler on the go, snacks stay in dispenser and not on the floor.  Soft flaps allow toddler to help themselves to snacks but prevents spills on the floor, car seat or buggy.  Click lock lid creates a spill proof seal, stopping toddler from opening.  Hidden under base, soft lid folds up to create a secure fit and keeps snacks fresh when not being used. When folded under base creates a soft handle for child to hold.

It looked neat and easy to use, was sceptical about the need for the lid but liked the handle and the colours. I liked that the packaging was not wasteful – it was kept very simple with instructions inside the pot. The pot is well made and well presented, it still looked new after various outings and washes! A little on the large side for the kind of snacks (raisins, grapes, blueberries) I was using it for. The lid stays on fine, he didn’t find it particularly easy to get to the snacks inside and this took some practice. But it definitely prevented any spillages or waste. Portion size is good but a little bit on the large side for our needs presently. I would only use one of these; Ted is 23 months so probably of an age where he can manage an open lid quite well. I imagine for a younger toddler you’d keep one or two for outings. Ideal for fruit snacks, crisps, rice cakes and lots of snacks I generally carry around with me for Ted.  It is good valuefor money as it is not a lot more expensive than a similar size Tupperware pots And obviously offers a little more. I particularly liked it for journeys on trains/buses/ in the car as Ted could be independent with his snack without making a mess. He did find it quite difficult at first to get the snacks out of the pot, but he mastered it fairlyquickly (after a few demands of ‘open it Mummy’). It could be improved by making it slightly easier access for little hands. We will continue to use this. I’d recommend it to people with younger toddlers or those who are just getting used to finger foods. A cool looking product which was easy to hold and perfect for snacks on the go. A little on the large side and sometimes difficult for little hands to access the snacks, but it is generally well made, looks good and washes well. Julie Herlihy – Ted 23 Months

The product looks good and very appealing for young children as it has bright colours. I do think it would work perhaps better with slightly older children than my son as he struggled getting food out of the snack pot. It is handy when out and about as you don’t have to worry about your child spilling all their food on the floor. It can also be used as a rattle. Packaging is great; easily see product and good information supplied. The quality is excellent very well made. Size is right. Takes a suitable amount of snacks and also easy to put in a small changing bag. If it was slightly deeper it would be easier for young children to get food out of the snack pot. The lid is easy to put on and spilling is prevented, but it is also difficult to get food out. Portion sizes are good .It is good to have a few to keep handy when on your travels. We used it for all of my son’s usual snacks: puff snacks, berries, apple pieces, oranges, dried fruit; we also used it as a rattle.  My son loved this. It does offer good value for money for a slightly older child than my 14 month old. I love the design and the thought behind the product. Maybe a slightly deeper version could be made to make it easier for young children to get food out of the snack pot. We will continue to use this. I would recommend as it is a good idea and it does work and is practical. Great practical product, but maybe more suitable for a 1.5 year old than a 14 month old. This is a clever product with no other like it in the market. Minimal packaging has been used which is great, the product is fairly self-explanatory so no need for instructions. The pot is well made and washes well. Although at first glance the size of the pot seems sufficient after using it realised that it could do with being a bit deeper.  My little one had to put her whole hand in the pot to pick up food items as her fingers aren’t long enough and this didn’t leave a lot of room for the food or for her to be able to pick out. Lid was easy to put on and stayed on, even though my daughter tried to open it a lot. If my little one was able to pick out the snacks with her fingers instead of her full hand then the portion size was fine, but because she struggled pulling food out we couldn’t put much in there. We were limited to the types of food we could use it for. I feel if the child is more able to pick up food using the pincer grip then it’s a great product but for little hands its very restricted to what food and how much you can put in it. We could only use solid snacks such as crisps or hard pieces of fruit such as apples, any soft foods we tried such as melon were squished before she even managed to get her hand out of the pot. Mainly due to the fact she struggled to pick out the food without using her whole had and had to make a tight fist to get it back out of the "catcher” mechanism. I liked the concept however it only really works for children who can comfortably pick out food through the catcher without having to make a fist to get it back out. However by the time the child reaches that stage they probably won’t need it and can eat out of a normal bowl without spilling. The catcher needs to be re-designed to allow smaller hands to pick out food easily. We now use this as a normal bowl without the lid as she finds it frustrating and hates it on. You’re very restricted to the type of food it can be used for based on the ability of your child to pick up food through the catcher. Clever concept but not practical.
