The product looked good as a whole. The box was crisp and clean in its design and gave a good indication of what the product was for. On opening the box, the product looked and felt good to handle and as shown. The look of the light up notes doesn’t really add to the overall crisp design. I love the concept of the potty being more like the toilet they will us as they grow up and therefore it will aid in the transition in comparison to ‘standard’ floor potties. It may encourage use in that it is the same as the one ‘mummy or daddy’ use. With regard to the music and lights I don’t know if as a concept this really helps or is more of a gimmick, bearing in mind that ‘traditional’ potties have been used for decades without needing the same elements. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. In general the set up was very easy, however it was tricky to fully clip the base in properly and I had to ask my husband to help. He struggled too. If this clipped in slightly more easily then it would be a 5. My child finds the potty very easy to use and chose to start using this potty more readily and often than ‘traditional’ designs which, because of using the My Size Potty, she has since then begun to use more as she got used to using one at all. Judging by her regular use and the fact that each time she seems happy sat upon the potty I would say that she finds the potty comfortable to sit on and use. The only challenge can sometimes be when she is pulling trousers down. This is because the ‘toilet stand’ being somewhat higher means that her legs need to spread in a slightly different way to floor models and it can be tricky with the confines of the trouser elastic to stretch them apart initially to sit down, particularly as she backs up to it. Once sat there is no impediment. There was an initial novelty factor but this was used more independently of the potty’s intended use. After about 4 or 5 days the lights and sounds rarely get used and never as part of using it to go to the toilet. It would perhaps work better if there were just a flush option without the lights and music as it would relate to a more real life like use. The built in splash guard has been particularly beneficial for the first big wee of the morning which is a heavier flow. There has, as far as I can recall, been no issue with splashing. The bowl is very easy to remove and clean and has enabled my daughter to assist in taking it to the toilet to tip and flush away any contents. The slip in nature makes it easy to return it for use without any clipping but knowing that it is secure and sturdy enough not to tip or slip out. She currently uses it 4-5 times a day at least if she is in the part of the house where it resides. It stays predominantly in the living room on the ground floor as when we are in the house that is where we stay and play for the most part and this enables her to make the connection to using the toilet more readily than only using it once or twice a day elsewhere in the house. I believe this has made the potty training experience much easier. Before we received the My Size Potty my daughter had little to no inclination to using a potty. This one has encouraged her to do so, is comfortable and a good height for her to easily sit on which I think has made her more amenable to using one at all. It also greatly helps when we as parents are encouraging her that wee and poo go in the potty or the toilet that she has an accurately derived version to use for herself. This helps her mentally to marry up what mum and dad do with what she is recognising her body needs to do. My daughter liked the fact that it looks like one mummy and daddy use and that it is an easy height to sit on from standing. I like the association it gives to a big toilet and to using the ‘toilet’ in general. The fact that it encouraged my daughter to want to use the potty and make her feel comfortable doing so. The overall quality is very good; however, the biggest flaw is the lifting flap on the top of the ‘cistern’. Presumably to store wipes and the like, the flap comes off very easily and we ended up having to just take it off entirely to stop it either getting damaged or lost or distracting our daughter from using it properly. If this could be made more secure I would most likely give it a 5. In general, in comparison to regular floor potties it would probably come in at about 2/5 as you can get really cheap ones from several retailers and quickly replace them as well. However, for the nature of the product this product is relatively good value and would probably come in at about a 3/5. It does what it says on the tin, has a good build quality and looks nice. The real value for money for me is the difference it has made to helping my daughter really engage with her potty training experience. This makes the much higher cost to ‘traditional’ potties that much more worthwhile. That being said, if the lights and sound weren’t there or maybe it was just a flush sound and you could therefore purchase the product for between £24.99 and £27.99 it would bring it to a 5/5. Yes it would cost a lot more in comparison to ‘traditional’ potties but the added value of how it has helped with training and the build quality would more than make up for it. It might also encourage me to consider purchasing a second, one for upstairs and one for down. At £34.99 I don’t think I would go with 2. So overall, good value not specifically just because of the product but because of the value added in experience. Overall the experience has been incredibly positive. The product works well and is intuitive both as a parent and, from experience, for our daughter too. It is made well and has a good look to it and has clearly engaged our daughter to want to use it and link with general toilet use. I think because of that I would probably be prepared to purchase one. I would recommend as having seen the benefit it has had to our toilet training adventure I would be happy to recommend it to a friend. I so desperately want to give this 5 out of 5 but a couple of design flaws like the flap on the top, the general addition of the lights and music and possibly the high cost mean I just can’t go there. It is so close to being a perfect product but for me, my husband and daughter it just misses the mark ever so slightly. A praiseworthy product excellently executed with a few flaws makes toilet training easier than expected and a more enjoyable experience for all. A toilet for toddlers helps growing up more fun, easy and relevant and has helped speed us on our wee adventure. The overall design and build are wonderful, the look and feel are appealing and help association with using the toilet. It is easy to use, easy to clean and easy to get excited about. The lights and music other than a short passing fascination upon first use have fallen into disuse and have added little to nothing to the usability or engagement. The flap on top is frankly annoying more than anything, though the concept of a small storage compartment is great if it were better designed. Overall, though, a product worth having. Well packaged and very simple to fit together. Simple instructions. I think it is a fun idea. You sometimes need things that are a bit different to help engage children in potty training. Also children like copying adults so the mini toilet is a great way for them to do this. Instructions simple to follow. Product simple so not many instructions needed. This was very simple to put together and use. A good height for my son to sit on. He really enjoyed pulling the handle to start the flush noise. The lights kept him engaged. My son found it easy to sit on. It is obviously higher than a standard potty but he seemed to find it simple to use. He enjoyed putting it next to the real toilet. The lights and noise were his favourite part. As a parent I was glad to be able to turn them off if needed. I really like the fact you have the option to have the lights without sound if needed. The built in splash guard was very useful. He often over spills on other potties but the splash guard worked well to prevent urine leaking down the front of the mini toilet. The bowl was  simple to remove and clean. No colour discolouration. He used it to try out a number of times but is not fully potty training yet. However he did manage to wee on it. His older sister used it a number of times and found it very easy to use as it is a similar size to the nursery toilets. We used this in the house next to the downstairs toilet. I think each child is different and finding things to motivate them to go to the toilet is important. This worked well for us as he was very interested in using it. So hopefully will still enjoy using it when we a properly potty training.  My son liked flushing the toilet to make the lights and sound start. He enjoyed the flush sound effect. Also the fact it was like the big toilet. I liked that he finds it easy to use the splash guard and how easy it is to clean the toilet pan out. This is well-made and simple to construct. It is reasonable value for money. A basic potty costs £5 so £35 is a big jump from that. However this has features to engage a child with the process which is so key. I would buy this as my children like light up toys, however if they didn’t then I wouldn’t. So it depends on the child’s personality. I would recommend if the child enjoys light up toys and has long enough legs to sit on the seat easily. A well-made product that fills a hole in the potty training market. A fun product to help with potty training. Useful to be able to turn off the sound and lights. Easy for children to use and easy for adults to clean. Ruth Smith – Alex Nearly 2 Years

I was amazed at the size and how good it looked as a mini toilet. I like the concept but didn’t see the point of the sounds and lights. Instructions not tricky at all to follow. Our daughter isn’t quite ready for potty training but she has been climbing on and off it and trying to go to the toilet when on it. Our daughter has enjoyed sitting on it when she has seen others using the main toilet. She has sat on it backwards just so she can make the lights and sounds go on. This has a good size seat for her to sit on. A bit fiddly to slot in and out of the place if you need to change it. The flush was good but the music was a bit random. The lights were a nice touch encourage her to go and see what it was. I found the back can cause an issue with clothing when trying to get on or off the seat. The bowl was a bit fiddly to take on or off. If there was a lot of urine in it I would struggle not to spill it. She loves sitting on it but she was never successful on it.  We put it in our bathroom to encourage her to use it when going to the toilet. She hasn’t used it successfully yet but it has definitely made her interested in the toilet and bathroom. My daughter loved that this was a mini version of something adults used. That she could independently sit on. I liked the concept it is great. Something fun to make the stress of potty training slightly easier. I personally was concerned about the amount plastic is used to make it when a lot of companies are trying to reduce this. It is good for what you get but not sure who wants to pay that much for a potty when you can get basic seats for toilets or smaller potties for a lot less. My husband loves a gadget so yes we would buy this.  I would recommend as it is fun and different.  It’s a great concept and a fun potty, just concerned about emptying it and the amount of plastic.
