Excited as it was number blocks which is something we watch on TV. The box was colourful and easy to store in the cupboard after using. It’s a good concept and our daughter had a good go trying to complete it. Instructions simple and easy to use. She found it a little tricky but she kept on trying. She loved the CBeebies TV series so was happy to play. The images to show the subtraction was a bit tricky to explain to her. The number being taken away maybe should’ve been moving away from the answer (maybe the opposite direction). She liked to complete the puzzle and her older sister was helping her and showing her what to do if she got stuck, so it was nice they could do it together. My daughter did not find it easy to match the maths question, but that’s her ability and age, children in nursery or reception in school would find it easier. She was happy she had completed it but not sure what she learnt. By repeating the puzzle over time it’ll help her. She enjoyed playing this game with her sibling. It did keep her entertained for a time. She played it a few times at first then went back to it a few days later. She liked recognising the number block characters. I liked that there were a lot of pieces so a bigger puzzle set to what she is used to. The age suitability is good but for me more 4 upwards if you want to learn about addition and subtraction as this is an objective in reception year of school. This is a great educational game for nurseries and schools. Not sure how long it would last in schools if it got wet or how easily it would get damaged. The pieces seem sturdy though. It’s a lot of money for a puzzle. Maybe better priced around £8. I would buy this. My daughter liked the numberblocks so would look at it as a fun way to learn. I would recommend if they were looking for puzzles for educational purposes. Nice puzzle but the way they’ve shown subtraction isn’t clear. You’d want that number block to moving completely away from the others. Laura Clarke – Robyn 3 Years

When this item 1st arrived, I was impressed at the quality of the product, the pieces and the packaging. The concept is a really good idea. It makes it simple to understand without putting too much focus on the fact that they are learning, adding and taking away. The instructions were really easy to follow. However, we didn’t really need them as it was really simple to understand even my six year old could explain it to my three year old. She found this game easy to play, she worked it out really quickly. My three year old is not a big fan of Numberblocks. However, she has watched it from time to time. This did help with addition and subtraction skills. She was able to understand the premise of the game. This kept both my child entertained for about 20 minutes. Evie is very good at puzzles and matched all the puzzle pieces before she even understood the game, with my 6 year old Amelia’s help after that they started playing properly using the sums. My daughter love’s completing puzzles and yes she definitely felt a sense of achievement. My two daughters have been playing with it and have had lots of fun together. It kept them entertained for about 20 mins roughly. They have both played it a few times but hasn’t been there go to puzzle/game. My daughter liked the puzzle element. It was good to help her understand the game and to play it with her and see her having fun learning. It is suitable for three years, plus I did find my three year old, found it more of a basic puzzle without caring what the sum element was, but my six-year-old really enjoyed doing the sums and getting the answer is correct. This would be ideal in nurseries and schools. It will promote fun in learning. This is a great quality product. The pieces are really well made a nice thick card. I think £12.50 is a bit state for a puzzle however because it’s Numberblocks the brand will pull in the kids to want to buy it more. I would consider buying it. However I wouldn’t want to pay £12.50 for it. I would recommend it. It is a lovely puzzle and it’s a nice game to play with siblings parents etc. It is a good game however younger children will definitely just see it as a puzzle and not a learning tool with questions and answers. I’m really glad we got to try out this Numberblocks game, it’s really well made and well-presented and my two daughters really did enjoy playing with it together. Carol Day – Evie 3 years

Very bright packaging and clear indication of what was included in the box, little one recognised the Numberblocks characters and logo so was keen to open when she saw it. It’s good simple way of helping younger ones to learn about addition and subtraction, also helps them with coordination as they have to fit the pieces together. Clear and simple instructions, easy to follow. My daughter found the game easy to play and also enjoyed “making her own game”…. As she does with many games. My daughter does enjoy watching the TV programme and playing the games on the app so I think this definitely helped her interact with the game as she likes the characters. This was an effective way the help my little one with her addition and subtraction practice. She wanted to take it to school to show her teacher. She enjoyed both sets of puzzles and it did keep her entertained for a while although when left to play with her sister once all the puzzles had been completed they tidied up and played something else. My daughter is very keen on her maths and found the puzzles easy once she’d done them a few times as she remembered which piece went where. My daughter loved to tell us the sum that she had just completed and was very proud of herself when she got the answer correct. She enjoyed showing her older sister what to do and they took it in turns to “find” the answers. It did keep her entertained especially when playing with either her sister or an adult. She probably played a couple of times a week for the first few weeks and then a bit less after this. She liked that she could do the puzzles by herself or with her sister. If playing by herself she would pretend to be a teacher and talk out loud about what she was doing. I liked that the characters were familiar and the pieces were good quality and fitted together nicely. I liked that it could be played alone or with someone. I think the age rating was about right, I think when kids have an older sibling they pick up numbers a bit quicker so this helped my little one along a bit more. This is a great resource for schools or nursery especially with the TV series in CBeebies. I think the product is well made and portion printed quality is good on the pieces. The pieces slot together nicely and don’t get some snagged when being separated. I think the product is about average in price, similar products are priced around this level so seems good value for money as it is a brand I trust. I would consider buying this product as my little one had a lot of fun playing this, we might buy a set for her school teacher as an end of term present. I would recommend as good quality product that has recognisable characters on it, from a brand I’ve bought previously. A good all round educational toy that was easy to pick up and play, with recognised characters. If being picky it could possibly have included some blocks to physically show the sums but this was a good all round educational toy that provided fun and learning for my youngest. She enjoyed playing a different style game. Bethan Lloyd – Poppy 4 Years
