Numenko Board Game

Numenko Board Game is played crossword style, like Scrabble, but with number tiles instead of letters. Players use the tiles, and the key Multi-choice piece which can be changed as needed, to create equations using addition, subtraction, multiplication or division. In the board game, players take turns making number sentences and can build off tiles already played by opponents. The goal of the board game is to get the highest score, which is tallied from each equation played. This game is tailored for the players aged 9+ but can be also played by younger children depending on their skills. The level of difficulty totally depends on the players themselves. Whether you want to achieve some very high scores or just create simple sums Numenko provides flexibility in the way the game is played.

We
couldn’t wait to start to play, looks attractive to the eye. Packaging is good and you can clearly see
what you are buying. Easy to understand,
good set of instructions. My son understood this game with no problems at all. We
played this game several times one evening, my son would have carried on
through the night he loved it that much. This is great for maths skills from
the basic to advanced. Even though this
game is aged 9+ my 6yr old was able to play for over an hour without losing
interest or becoming upset due to it being hard for her. This is the first game we have ever managed
to keep her engaged for more than 10 mins. Very high quality game. Excellent value for money. I like that you can adapt the game for the
basic maths skills or for the more advanced, even using both easy and hard in
the same game. I found this give the children the ability to carry out the game
together without one feeling left out and at a disadvantage. This is a great game and would certainly
purchase. I have already recommended this to many
friends, a lot of them home educate and found it great. Fun, enjoyable for
children and adults. Sarah Knight – Cody 9 Years

Looked
a good game. Standard packaging all
arrived in perfect condition.
Instructions very easy to understand.
Took a little bit of explaining but Megan (12) & Amie (10) picked it
up really easy. Played for about 2 hours first time, and then have played a few
times after at the children’s request. The
kids loved this and got very excited about getting things correct. This is easy enough for my children to play
without losing interest. Can’t play much
more than about ¾ times a go through but for a board game that is brilliant, we
have loads of board games that we have played once then never again. The rules were
straight forward; the children started making their own rules up which I
encouraged as I felt they were still learning. Well-built and even my 3 year
old didn’t break it. For the amount of time we have spent playing this, I found
it excellent value for money. Nothing
about this game we did not like. Would definitely
purchase and friends have asked about where we got it from? Have already recommended. Brilliant game with hours of fun for children
of all ages. Joanne Cawthra – Megan, Amie & Joshua – 12, 10 & 3 years

Looks
like it could be an enjoyable game. The packaging looks good and like it
could be something everyone could enjoy. Seems very confusing when we first
opened the box and had a read of the instructions on how to play. To begin with no was not easy to grasp
concept of game. It took a while for
(even me) to understand the game but once we started playing it was fine. An ok
game, it keeps her attention for a few minutes but as there were only 2 of us
it wasn’t brilliant. As far as helping her with her maths it is good, helps her
with adding up and taking away. To be
honest with their only being the 2 of us I got bored with it very easily, it
could really do with being a 3 to 5 player game. I didn’t know there were other options for
playing the game. The quality of the game is very good. Seems ok but personally think it could do
with being a little cheaper, say £9.99. To
me this game is for the older child, my 9 year old is ok with her maths but to
me it’s for the older child to make them think more. An ok game seems a little pricey to be
honest. Samantha Beardow – Rebecca 9 years

First
thoughts were that game and packaging looked a bit dull. This is an
educational game but felt the packaging was A bit plain and not eye-catching at
all. Definitely not aimed at children, my daughter thought it looked
boring. The rules weren’t very clear; we felt they could do with a
bit more detail. It took a long time to get the game started, which meant
my daughter was bored before we started. My daughter did not grasp this game at
first but the more we played it the more she began to understand it. As the board filled it up it was more
difficult to keep my child’s attention as other players took longer to think
and play their tiles. Great for developing math skills, and also good for
turn taking and learning to be patient.
I would say it
was more suited to older children (secondary schools) and adults rather than
primary school age. We played it a few time but never actually completed
a game as my daughter got bored and lost interest when she couldn’t go. We
made a few of our own game rules up anyway as we didn’t think the rules that
came with the game were very clear. The concept is good but I think it needs a
bit more work to make it high quality. Also, not enough ‘product’ or
‘free’ tiles to be able to play tiles on every turn. The concept of the
game is a good idea but it needs a bit more work and detail. Maybe a double
sided board for different age ranges and abilities. Liked the concept of
the game but there are a lot of board games on the market that we would prefer
to play as a family. Gemma Scala –

Looks fun almost a numerical scrabble. High
quality packaging and looked interesting.
I understood the concept but got very confused when it came to playing
the game. My daughter certainly
understood the concept of this game. My daughter
did not enjoy this game as presently she finds it too hard. I am sure as she gets older she will enjoy it
more. This game is certainly ideal to
help any child with numeracy skills. I
do not feel this game was flexible enough to think up new ways of playing this
game. The quality of the game is great
and certainly value for money. I didn’t
dislike the game; I just got very confused playing it. I personally would not purchase this game as
does not appeal to my children. If I had
friends and family that had budding math geniuses I would recommend this to
them. This is a great game if you are
good with numbers. Katrina Stephen –

Looked
good quality and well-made. Packaging good, but not very eye catching. Once you get used to it, it is fairly easy to
understand how to play. Took a couple of ‘read throughs’. The children
both understood the concept of the game quite well. Numenko kept the attention of my younger
child better, but he enjoys Maths more! This game is certainly stimulating and
definitely helps with Childs development.
My son’s interest was held for longer than my daughter’s & he would
have been happy to play it for a lot longer.
This is a high quality game and certainly made well. Personally, I find it overpriced. Whilst the
price is in line with some other games, I think the price is too high for this
product. I really liked the fact this
game is educational. I would recommend but
would highlight the price. Good game,
educational & different to other games. A very enjoyable and educational
game. Natalie U – Ellie & Joe – 10 &
