We were really excited to receive this! We have several Orchard Toy games at home and we know they’re great quality, so we were delighted when it arrived! This is a classic game. Instructions simple o understand. My 5 year old understood the game. The two year old was interested in playing her own version and mostly just wanted to play with the characters. They both enjoyed making the puzzle board up and they used the pieces in different ways – 5 year old son played the game in the traditional way and two year old daughter used the pieces as cars and pushed them around the board on their own route. We especially liked the character tokens that reminded the players which was their piece! They did find the game competitive. This was played around once each week. I enjoyed playing with them (Mom) and they also took it to their grandparents house to play. I liked the character tokens that reminded the players which piece was theirs. The children liked the puzzle board. Lots of room in the box to easily store. High standard, colourful game. Usual high quality of Orchard Toys. This would be great for schools and nurseries as it would help with numeracy and learning turn taking and sharing. Age suitability was ideal. Good value as nice quality item. I would buy as a gift. I would recommend as it is really nice quality and classic game. We loved it. Really enjoyed playing with this game, it enabled all generations to join in and created a nice atmosphere when playing. My two year old was the least interested but my five year old took joy in allocating people’s turns and taking charge of game play. It was fun for us all. It looked a fun game, in good packaging and good quality. It’s an old game and very well-known so I knew the idea of the game. I expected it to be similar to other versions of the game I have played before. Instructions easy to read and follow. My daughter did understand this game as she had played a different brand of this game before. She did enjoy the game and we all had fun playing the game. We found the pieces were a bit too chunky and didn’t stand up very well on the board. The connecting pieces did not stay on very well and they kept falling over. Snakes and ladders is always a fun and competitive game! We played the game quite a bit as my daughter was off school with chicken pox so it helped to keep her occupied!! It was mostly played with just the two of us. I liked the graphics , images and bright colours of the board. I also liked that you had to put the board together like a jigsaw. She enjoyed the climbing the ladders and thought it was very funny when I had to slither down the snakes!! Very easy to put away and store. Excellent quality which I would expect from orchard games. This is a good game to have in nurseries and schools as well-known game and suitable to use in nursery and early years. I would say it’s aimed at the right age group. There are much cheaper versions of the game around so I would say a bit expensive. I would not buy this as I think there are cheaper versions around there f the same game. I would not really recommend as they will probably have a version of the game and played it before. It is a great game and good quality just doesn’t really stand out from other games. As always orchard games produce good quality games and the graphics and images are fun and great for children. I just didn’t think this game was any different to other versions of the game. The counters were badly designed and we ended up playing it without the stands as they kept falling over. It’s an old classic game and this version just didn’t really excite me! It was smaller packaging than expected. But nice and colourful. It’s good that its less numbers and it is also a puzzle so practice on additional motor skills. Basic and easy to follow instructions. He understood how to play the game but as he is still learning to count he needed a little assistance with following the direction of the road and moving the counter. He loved playing this game. He really enjoyed the characters but did become a little frustrated when they wouldn’t stand up independently. So the counters were a good alternative. He found the game fun and definitely enjoyed winning. Played this fairly often maybe 3-4 times a week. We all got involved and played the game and enjoyed it. I liked that the game was shorter so that it took less time to complete. So with my sons shorter attention span he could focus and follow it all the way through. He loved the Characters the most. I think this brought the game to life for him. It was easy to store as it breaks down quite small. The quality was fairly good but I do think the stands for the characters could be made from a different material so it’s more sturdy. And the puzzle did come apart when any pressure or leaning was applied when moving characters. It could be used in nurseries and schools as it involves various educational elements. From puzzle solving to number recognition and addition. Age group was appropriate. I think it could possibly be priced cheaper as similar products on the market are offering more than one game e.g. reversible boards with multiple game options. I would buy this as my son enjoyed playing this game. I would recommend as it is a simple and fun game. I think the product is good and with minor changes to the design and price it could be even better. I think that the product is suitable for the target market. With positives such as characters and counters to make it enticing to younger ages. And was enjoyable to play with friends and family. Julia Roye – Kanan 4 Years
