Bright and colourful, looked intriguing. A great idea especially as wooden. Easy to follow instructions. A lovely design incorporating the peacock and colours. My daughter found this very easy to hole and also tested by our friend’s daughter who is 2 years and enjoyed using it too. My daughter found the idea great and did use the colours separately to look at everything around her. My daughter wasn’t impressed by trying the overlay of colours as she said it didn’t make much difference. My daughter already knew her colours but a much younger child it would be a great learning tool. She got bored very easily with this, had she been younger I’m sure she would have used much more. Not really appropriate for my daughter but our 2 year old friend loved and I think it would be suitable from 18 months. The fact this is made of sustainable rubber wood etc., is very important in general to me so I always look for these qualities. She did like to have this toy on display. We used it a few times. My daughter really loved the fact it was in the shape of a peacock. I do agree this is good value and if bought at a young age you would get many years of use from the toy. I loved the design and the fact it’s so bright and colourful. I would buy if my daughter was younger, I would consider buying as a gift. I would recommend as a great concept and much better than plastic. Top marks from us as overall it’s a great toy and lovely design. Sarah Tomlinson – Evelyn 7 Years

When the peacock colours toy initially arrived I was pleasantly surprised – it was in a cardboard box which is fully recyclable and looked pleasing to the eye. The concept of teaching colours to children is a lovely concept especially when built into a beautiful peacock. The peacock is such a striking design and looks just as good as ornament as a toy. My three year old found it easy to use and enjoyed looking through the different colours. My little girl loved looking at the world through the different colours. She had great fun looking at how the colours changed the colour of the items she was looking at. My little girl did enjoy mixing the colours – however she found the red a little bit to pink for her liking. Looking at how the different colours mix up to make new colours was great fun and taught my little girl about how to mix different colours. The peacock kept my little girl entertained for a while, however after a little while she was no longer interested. My little girl wasn’t interested in playing with the peacock other than when looking at the colours; however her friends did enjoy playing stories with the peacock- the peacock has visited space and the beach. I think this is a very appropriate age for the peacock as I think we would have more fun with it when she was younger. Being made from sustainable rubber wood and responsibly sourced plywood is important to me and I would like to buy more toys that are ethical. My little girl used it as an ornament and her friends used it to tell stories. My little girl would use this every couple of days. She most enjoyed being able to look through the colours and change them like a fan. The peacock has quite a high price point for a toy. It is however made from sustainable material which is reflected in the price point. If bought for a younger child – 18months I think it offers value for money, however I think my little girl is at the top end of its life at nearly 4 and therefore I don’t think it offers value for her. I most liked the design as it is pretty enough to be on display as well as used as a toy. I would consider buying the peacock but only for a younger child. I would recommend as it is a good toy for discussing colours and is pretty. I think it is a good toy for teaching younger child about colours. However the red is a little too pink and it I believe has a short life span. Many sustainable wooden toys have an unlimited life span and are more open ended. Jess Howard – Charlotte 3 years

Brilliant. I love the fact it’s made from sustainable materials and nontoxic colours. To be honest I did not read the instructions. This was very well made and has lovely colours. My daughter did struggle to move the colour plates around to access another one as they were quite stiff. It is quite a bulky toy, so not always easy for her to hold. I used it myself, to show her how to use it, and she did copy me. I don’t think she properly understood the idea though. She did lose interest in it quite quickly. I feel my daughter was a bit too young to understand how to overlay the coloured acrylic windows. I do not personally feel it helped my daughter to learn more about colours. The colours did not mix together that well. Whichever was the stronger colour, this colour dominated it, so did not mix with another colour. Not really a toy for her at the moment as I feel she is a bit too young for this. The fact this is made of sustainable rubber wood etc., is very important to me as my daughter puts everything in her mouth, so I am always aware of this. We used this a few times each week. My daughter enjoyed moving the colour plates when she could. Personally I feel this toy is a bit expensive. I liked the peacock design and the colours. I would buy it if my daughter was a bit older as I think she was just a bit too young to understand the concept. However, I also wouldn’t pay that much for it, I would buy it if it was a bit cheaper. I personally would not recommend as it is a lot of money for a toy that doesn’t have many features. Nice peacock design. Not one of my daughter’s favourites. I think this toy was a bit beyond her. If she was older, she would probably enjoy it a bit more. Also, the colours do not mix together well at all, so that really lets the whole concept down as this is one of the main features.
