The process was so simple and easy to follow and I found the choice was great meaning I could create just what I knew Lucy would love looking and reading about. It was a very quick process and delivery was quick especially for a Personalised item. The book was well presented and Lucy could not wait to read it straight away. I love the fact you can make it so personal to the child. Lucy does not have any pets but we go and visit a friends pony all the time so I created the book about Lucy and the Pony so she felt like she was on great adventures. Lucy was super excited and was amazed at how the book knew her favourite pony’s name and that the character looked just like her as well. We have read the book many times since we received it. The front cover was very bright and colourful which drew attention straight away. The story was great in fact it was that fun that Lucy was telling her dad all about it when the story had finished and was repeating some of the funny things they had done in the book like forgetting to feed the pony and taking it out to the toilet she thought it was hilarious. Oh yes it definitely has a way with keeping the children engaged in the story as they have made it funny as well as bright and colourful. The personalization really did add to the story as you could pick the same colour hair good choice of clothing to match and the pony was based on her favourite pony and looks just the same. The Illustrations are really lovely in the book it is so bold and colourful which really appeals to younger children. I ado find the book looks a bit pixelated to my eyes but it didn’t bother my child at all. Lucy loved it I found the illustrations a little grainy on the eye slightly pixelated. We read this as a bed time story for days on the trot and it still gets choses on a frequent basis. Lucy’s response was mummy I can’t believe this book is about me and my Pony and it also has a picture of me in it as well it is very special. I love how special it made her feel the smile on her face was just that of pure joy. Not full marks from us just because like I said before it was a little pixelated. The book is well made though and lovely thick pages. I think it is great as it is a book they can cherish for a long time and can be added to a memory box and things for when they are older. I would consider buying the book and will for my future child as it has so much fun and detail to it and seeing how much Lucy loved it is all I need. I would recommend this to friends and family and already have done so especially to my sister who has 4 boys. I would say 4/5 Lucy would say 5/5 I just thought the pages were a little blurry but to a child’s eyes they don’t notice that and really loved the book. This book is an amazing read to add to any child’s book case. The personalisation choices are great and you really can make a story book that your child will think is the most magical thing ever. We added a message into ours so when Lucy is older it will be in her memory box with lots of others things that meant so much to her. Having a child who has no pets but loves animals this book has been so lovely as it just gives them that little sense of adventure. The book is really well made and robust so not going to get torn easily and I would definitely recommend it to all parents with young children. Andrea Kemp – Lucy 3 Years

It was simple to create the book and there were lots of options for personalisation. Once completed order online it was only a few days before it arrived. I liked the hard cover and thought it would last well. I think it is a very good concept and I like that it doesn’t have to be based on a real life pet but could be an imaginary one as well. My child was very excited to see herself and her name on the cover of this book. She wanted to read it straight away. The front cover did make her want to read it straight away because she was excited to see her picture along with her pet’s picture. My child enjoyed the story a lot but didn’t like her sad face at the beginning of the story! I did explain that it was because her pet was being so naughty in the story! The story did keep her entertained because she wanted to find out what happened next at every stage in the book. She was glad that it was a happy ending. Being personalised did make it a more personalised experience for her and very different to a standard story with unknown characters. I think the illustrations helped as they were made to look like herself and her pet. I like the illustrations but would have liked to see more variety in the facial expressions. She has not read it very often. She is only 4 and finds it a little long. She liked her name and her pet’s name and pictures appearing in the story and that it was a happy ending. I liked that there was a lesson learned in the story – proper pet care. I think the quality is very good. The hard cover is fantastic and will make the book last well. There are also a lot of pages in the story. I think it is quite expensive for a children’s book but the hardcover is a nice addition and worth the extra compared to the soft cover. For the money I would have liked to see more personalisation (family, friends names, etc). I probably would not buy it as there was not enough personalisation for the cost and the story wasn’t relevant to my child as we already had our pet cat when she was born and it wasn’t gifted to her as the story suggests. I don’t think was clear prior to the book arriving. I would recommend if the friend or family member had been gifted a new pet and the story was more closely linked to their personal circumstances. This is a lovely book, with an excellent quality cover and pictures and is a good length of story with a good moral, however I would have liked more options, not just for physical appearance but for other traits and family circumstances. My overall experience with the product has been positive. It arrived extremely quickly for a personalised item and my child was excited to receive it and read through it for the first time. I don’t think it is something that will be read too regularly but for the right person it would be an adored item. Eva Thomson – Lucy 4 Years

The book was very easy to create and my daughter enjoyed choosing what she and her pet would look like. You had a good range of options for children to choose from without overwhelming them! Confirmation of the order was very quick and the books arrived a few days later. The hardback cover makes the book feel of value and my daughter was excited to receive it and see her name and image on the front. I think a book about children and their pets is a great idea. However, i was disappointed in the story. I was looking forward to an imaginative adventure about my daughter and her pet. Instead, it depicts the child mistreating and neglecting the pet. Although we do not have a pet, my daughter knows without having one that this isn’t how you would treat it. She was visible saddened when we first read it at how the character with her name treated the pet and I was sad to read it to her. I would consider the purpose of the story only relevant to a child who is actually mistreating a pet and needs support to learn how to look after it.  My background as in education and as a special needs coordinator means I use social stories to support children in this way. Even so, you don’t need to explore how to look after a pet through a negative story. It would have been far better to teach children about how to look after a pet using a positive story. She was excited to read the story but this changed when she understood what was happening in the story. The front cover is vibrant and inviting. It did encourage my daughter to read the book and she was keen to share it when it arrived. My daughter enjoyed the ending when her and the cat were playing. My daughter enjoyed spotting her name on objects throughout the book and this was a nice touch with the personlisation. The illustrations are good however I think there is room for further development. They seemed a little simple in places. I read the story with my daughter a few times to see if her reaction developed to the story. However, after the first read she didn’t choose to read it again when given the choice. My daughter enjoyed designing the character and animal. I liked the personalisation through the story and seeing her name throughout the book. I think there is room for development with the language choices for an English market. When the cat ‘peed’ on the floor I chose to change the wording to ‘weed’. Some of the pronoun wording is also a little clunky to accommodate a variety of pets e.g. ‘them’ but it affects the flow of reading.  I also think that the statements about looking after the pet at the end are not suited to the age demographic you are targeting e.g. ‘ X now understands the importance of toilet training. If the book were an imaginative story about a character and a pet I would give a higher mark. I can see only one purpose for this book which would be to teach as small child who is struggling with looking after a pet how to do so. However, as I have stated above, I still wouldn’t choose to do this through a negative representation of a child mistreating a pet. I personally would not purchase this book. I would not recommend as I would worry that a friends child might feel the way my daughter and I felt about the book. I am sorry to give such a low mark. I was really excited about receiving this book as my daughter loves to read and therefore having a book about her sounded fantastic. We were disappointed with the story content and I felt sad to see her upset by the book! A personalised book is a lovely concept which will be very popular with children and their families. I would recommend re-thinking the story content which will hopefully appeal to a larger group of children and families. As an educator, building a love of books is really important for helping children to become successful readers. Evoking a negative reaction in a child and suggesting they would mistreat a pet is not the outcome of a pleasurable reading experience. Anna Ronchetti – Luna 4 Years
