I initially wondered if Maya would like it or not as she’s never seen the Rainbow characters before. Loved the puppet feature and thought it was a great idea. Maya was initially really interested in the book and was drawn to zipping and unzipping his mouth. She loved it! She laughed her head off when Zippy says no, no, no about going to bed. She really enjoyed the story and askes for it every night before bed now. I did think the illustrations looked a little dated. This did keep her entertained.  She is always engaged for the whole story. The day the book came we had it for a bedtime story and she now asks after the bath, where’s zippy. Great quality, the only thing is my husband has quite large hands and finds it a bit hard to turn the pages with his hand still in the puppet. I would pay around £8 for this book. I love the way it’s taught Maya to sing twinkle, twinkle little star as she sings along with zippy. She loves opening his mouth to tell the story and zipping it closed at the end. It’s helped with her find motor skills too. I would buy this and I have ordered it for a Christmas present for a friends child too. I would recommend as it is Maya’s favourite bedtime book. It’s really engaging and not too long. I think it’s a lovely book which develops fine motor skills as well as singing because it encourages the children to sing along with the nursery rhyme. It’s really improved my daughters singing. I would definitely look into buying more of the books in this series. It looked great. Very interesting. Grab the attention immediately. I think this is a lovely idea for a book. The front cover and puppet grabbed my sons attention straight away.  My son certainly enjoyed the hand puppet and it definitely bought the story to life.  He really enjoyed the story. I think the illustrations are very good. This certainly captivated my son’s attention and kept him entertained. He would play along and move the pages as we read the story. We used this book every day when he came back from nursery.  This is a very high quality book. The price is a bargain for the quality of this book. I liked the book, the story and the hand puppet. Was ideal for my son. He really loved the puppet as bought the story to life. I would buy this book.  I would recommend because it is a very interesting concept for children and my son loved it.  The book is a high quality. Grab the attention quickly. Good quality book with strong pages, full of nostalgia for me and pleased the puppet looked exactly like Zippy. I like the idea of encouraging children to go to sleep at bedtime. The cover is nice and bright and colourful and both my children were eager to see what was inside. My children loved Zippy, the puppet is easy to control due to the long neck and they loved interacting with Zippy, particularly zipping up his mouth! I think the story is OK but they were more interested in playing with the puppet than listening to the story to be honest. Illustrations were nice, simple but gelled with the story well and helped to emphasise what the words were saying.  Both children really liked playing with the puppet and like to get Zippy kisses. My youngest has taken to hiding things in Zippy’s mouth! The zippy book is often reached for by Matilda to play with the puppet, Alfie wouldn’t reach for it himself but is happy to read it if I get it down.  The book is good quality and strong, I think it would be very hard-wearing and withstand rough little people well.  Gives good value, as you get a toy and a book, would make a good gift. I like the fact the puppet is easy to manoeuvre and soft so you can really bring Zippy to life. They like the puppet and the fact that the Zippy acts out the story. I think I would be tempted by the other books in the series. I would recommend as it is a fun book with added nostalgia for the adults. We enjoyed reading the book as a family, it is a good product that is well designed and the children loved the Zippy puppet. It is a durable product that would stand the test of small children and continue to delight for some time. More suited to my younger child but still enjoyed by both.
