Routes to Reading baby book club (24 Months – 36 Months)

The mission of Routes to Reading is to help parents instil a love of reading in their child.A child’s reading journey promises much joy and many challenges. ‘How and when should I read to my child? How can I prepare my child to learn to read? What are the most appropriate books?’ These are just a few of the questions we were asked. We want to answer parents’ questions, address their concerns and provide the best resources. Most of all, we want to inspire.

Books
arrived well packaged and in pristine condition. Items well packaged- no
bending etc. Books in perfect condition. I was advised I would be emailed an accompanying
guidance document but this was not received. The books are superb quality, just
like I would buy in a shop. I feel that the books that were received would be
well worth the membership fee. The books were worth £6.99 each. (Two books). Perhaps
in the future I would consider a subscription, I would only be put off by
entering into a contract when there are very often discounts on books in shops,
particularly in supermarkets. The books I received could not be faulted. The
books arrived promptly and in fantastic condition. I can find no fault, only
that perhaps entering into a subscription is not for everybody and perhaps can
be a costly way to buy a Childs books.Gemma Slaughter – Violet 2 years

The
books we received were lovely and both myself and my son enjoyed reading them. Books
arrived in no special packaging. But were packed well so could not be damaged. I
found the emailed guidance document really helpful as it gave useful ideas on
how to get the most out of using the books with your children. Really lovely
books, that were of a good quality. My son enjoyed the stories. In my opinion
this is not good value for money. Not unless you are unable to access a library,
where you could loan the books for free. Or a super market, who often has
similar books available for between £4-£5, working out cheaper than a one month
subscription. We will continue to use our local library and purchase books from
shop when needed. Books can be sourced
cheaper elsewhere, but may suit someone who is not able to access local
amenities. The books themselves were lovely and I can understand the concept of
the book club but I don’t think it offers particularly good value for money. The
2 books we received were fantastic, great quality and both me and my son
enjoyed reading and looking at them. The email I received with tips and ideas
for getting the most out of the books was really helpful. I don’t think however
that the club is good value for money. Would possibly suit those living in
particularly rural communities who don’t have regular access to shops and
libraries. Angela Playle – Samuel 2 Years 3 Months

The
books they sent were lovely and very recently published. This was well packaged
and secure. I was not emailed accompanying
guidance document so cannot comment on this.
Beautiful books, good quality and very recently published. Personally I feel the price for one month’s
subscription and the amount of books you receive was a bit pricey. The books were lovely and my daughter and I
enjoyed reading them, but the monthly subscription for 2 books seems expensive,
especially as a lot of these books will be available on the internet for prices
a lot lower than the RRP. If the monthly subscription involves more books or
products per month, then I may consider buying a subscription, but not for just
the 2. Helen Hudson – Nieve 2 Years
