Sambucol Baby Powder 14 Sachets Reviews

Product Tested By Kate Bennison Grace 7 Months

The box is very bright and makes you look at the product. The powers are well packaged and looked easy to use. It explains fully on the box how to use. an amazing idea, grace is doing baby led weaning  and is still breastfeeding so i don’t know exactly what she is getting .so this is a fab idea to ensure she’s getting everything she should be. very clear instructions on both box and leaflet. really easy to administer, she didn’t notice it was there. I mixed it in with her porridge at breakfast. grace didn’t notice it was in there and ate her cereal/porridge as usual. It is important to me to keep Grace healthy especially given the current climate her immune system is more important than ever!! I would use all year round and I have already purchased at my local boots store. it’s so easy to use and compliments feeding! It gave me the confidence that she was getting what she needed to keep her in good health. Product is fantastic and explains fully all the benefits. I think it’s great value for money! It’s much easier than the drops and is tasteless so doesn’t flavour or colour their food. at the moment I’m taking a breastfeeding vitamin so once grace weans I’ll be looking for something to help keep me healthy so would look to try the Sambucol Black Elderberry product for adults. I would recommend as we loved it,  was so easy to  use and made me feel confident knowing grace was getting what she needs. If you are formula feeding you could add it to their usual milk and the same if you’re doing purée weaning it would stir in. The product itself is fantastic. Packaging is great and explains well how to use the products. You could use it in lots of different foods and drinks. I have and would highly recommend these to other parents. We’re in a really uncertain time and Graces health is my top priority and this just helped to make sure her immune system is top notch!! Kate Bennison Grace 7 Months

The packaging looked appealing and child focuses. I was surprised how light the box was and when I opened it I thought they could have fitted more sachets in or made the box smaller. It’s a good concept for toddlers who may be averse to trying new foods. With the sachets being put into a drink they don’t know any different so it makes the process easy. The instructions were very clear and straightforward. Eve was given the product in juice which dissolved easily so she drank it like a normal drink. We always mixed this with orange juice. This was easily mixed into drink and Eve would not notice anything different.  It is very important to me to protect my baby’s immune system. Eve was on neonatal when she was born and has developed sepsis twice from infections so being able to strengthen her immune system is extremely important. I will continue using this as it is easy to give to my daughter without her noticing. I really liked how  It was easy to mix into a drink and didn’t taste bad to Eve. It looks very good quality in very secure sachets. It is a good product but I think £6.99 is a bit expensive if you are using 2 sachets daily it means every week you would be paying £6.99. I would consider buying it but not all the time due to the price. I would consider buying the Sambucol Black Elderberry for adults as it would be interesting to see if you feel the benefits. I would recommend it to parents due to the easiness of administering. the product is fab and easy to use but the price is the one factor that would stop me using it all the time.  It was a good experience from the start, I don’t think Eve knew anything different was in her drink as she drank her orange juice and never said anything about it tasting different so it was easy to administer. I think the sachets could possibly be smaller so it could be packaged in a smaller box. Laura Child – Eve 20 months

Clearly presented box, colour themed with the colours of dark elderberry made it easy to see what it was and what it was for. Unflavoured sachets are a good idea for adding additional vitamins to babies food as there is no risk of it being spotted and rejected like other flavoured supplements or medicines. Instructions clear and easy to understand. No complex language. can be easily mixed into liquids but didn’t work if having a more solid meal while weaning. Most easily mixed with yoghurt we found. This was easy to mix in with food or drink as flavourless and fine enough powder that it didn’t appear to change the flavour or texture. a strong immune system can only be a good thing, so there is no reason to not seek to supplement the babies food intake. I would perhaps find it less beneficial as they get older. now that they are toddling I think I would be more inclined to supplement their food in the winter with Vit C and D – in the warmer weather we are spending more time outside in the sunlight and are also probably eating more fresh fruit and vegetables making this feel less beneficial. I like the fact that it is unflavoured, so can be added to food or drink without negatively affecting it. Difficult to give a view and a quality mark on this as I don’t really have anything I feel I can reasonably compare it to. Effectively the sambucol sachets work out at 50p per child per day. With twins we would get through a whole box a week, meaning to maintain this would be £28 a month, which does feel like a lot when we can ensure they get sufficient vitamin c and d in their diet. I would consider buying it, but probably not on a consistent basis – maybe more in the darkest months to support vitamin d.  I would consider the Sambucol Black Elderberry for adults but not as a powder form – taking supplement tablets works perfectly well. If as a parent you can see the benefit of giving supplements to your babies to support their vitamin c and vitamin d then using the unflavoured sachets mixed into their food or drink is an effective way to do it, making Sambucol a good choice. Overall these are easy to use and do give piece of mind that you are giving the vitamins required. Jessica Howard – Sophie & Isabelle 1 Year
