Say hello to a wonderful new way to clean your laundry. Our laundry detergent is clever in a number of ways. For a start it’s hardly got any water in it – which means less transport CO2 emissions as we’re not transporting excess water around the country. It’s also brilliant at removing a wide variety of stains and will leave your clothes feeling lovely and soft. Splosh laundry liquids are clinically tested to be kind to skin. You’ll notice that the cap is different to other detergents as it automatically pours the correct dosage every time without having to be recharged. By dispensing a measured dose you can avoid over-dosing, which is a major environmental issue with other laundry detergents.refills
A refill box contains one pouch to refill your bottle – equivalent to 22 wash loads. At just £5.45 including postage, this means each wash costs 25p.cotton flower fragrance

This was
something I had heard of before, and had wanted to try out, but had never got
around to ordering. It is part of a range of products that claim to reduce your
plastic waste from cleaning products down to almost zero. Nice looking 420ml
bottle, easy to use, which can be re-used many times. Refills come in a small
natural coloured, cardboard box that will easily fit through the letterbox. The
refills themselves are screw topped plastic sachets that can be mailed back to
the company to be refilled, creating zero plastic waste. Basic instructions are
printed on the bottle and the refill sachet, with more detailed instructions
enclosed on a leaflet. For the most part they are very easy to follow, and explain
every question I would have wanted to ask. The only problem I had was the first
time I used the product. Although there are picture instructions and text that
clearly explains what to do, I did think the product was broken at first, as
the liquid appears to run straight back into the bottle. Because of the
frosting on the bottle, it’s not obvious that the dose is actually held inside
the bottle, rather than in the cap itself. The scent of the liquid is very
strong in the bottle, due to how concentrated it is. I was a little worried
that the smell would be overpowering on the washing itself, but it comes out of
the washer lightly scented and fresh smelling. The scent is similar to ‘cotton
fresh’ used in candles. A full dose works out at 27p a wash, which includes
delivery and the ability to reduce plastic waste. I normally use Aldi
concentrated washing powder which works out at around 8p per wash and comes in
a cardboard box, so for me, the price is quite a lot more. However, if you use
a main brand powder or liquid, it may be more comparable. There is the option
to use half a dose to increase the number of washes you get, but this seems a
bit fiddly to do when the dose is premeasured (whereas normally, I’d just half
the powder I scooped up). I’d not tried to do this at the time of reviewing,
but I do plan to in the future if cleaning power is unaffected. The bottle
includes an integrated dosing cap which involves turning the bottle upside
down, where you will see liquid run into the top of the bottle. For some
reason, I expected the dose to stay in the top part of the cap where you can
see it, but it runs down into a small cup that cannot be easily seen, due to
the frosted effect on the bottle. After unscrewing the cap to see what was
going on inside, it was obvious, but it looks like the dose is running straight
back into the main part of the bottle. I had considered buying it before, and
especially now I can see that it works, I can’t see any reason why I wouldn’t.
Although the price does look a little on the high side to me (I do use quite a
cheap powder normally), it is a small company and I believe supporting
companies with ideas such as this, and that trying to reduce waste is worth
paying the extra for (especially if a half dose works as well). Hopefully the
price may come down if more people used the service. There is also a powder
version available, that works out at 23p a wash. I would recommend to anybody wanting to reduce
their plastic use. The range of fragrances is limited to one or two per product;
I would hope that this would expand if the company becomes more mainstream, as
I think that would make more people switch to using products like this. Easy to
use (once I figured out how it worked), takes up a lot less room in my cleaning
cupboard than my usual box of powder, and cleans just as well. Fragrance is
pleasant, although not what I would usually choose, I’d prefer if there were a
few more to choose from. Looks really easy to reorder, and I like that you can
send all the refill packaging back if you choose to. Kate

Looked interesting, had not heard of this brand before so was looking
forward to trying out. Not sure if it
would match my normal washing detergent.
Liked bottle and really like the idea you can just buy refills, more
companies should adopt this as cuts down on plastic bottles. Instructions clear and easy to follow. I do
believe this is a good product and clothes came out smelling fresh. Liked the aroma. It does offer good value and you save when
buying refills too. So all round well
worth investing in and giving this a try.
This comes with a handy measuring cap which I found to be very useful,
not only for me but for my partner. I
will definitely be purchasing more refills and already recommended. Easy to use, washes well, clothes smell fresh
and love the fact once you have purchase one bottle just buy refills. Great. Chelsea Ashley

I had been reading up on this product recently so was very pleased to
try out for myself. I liked the look of
the bottle easy to use and store. Packaging
ideal for the product. Instructions
informative and helpful and give you all the information you need. Was impressed with the quality as really did
wash well. Even matched up to my regular
brand which I was surprised to admit.
Loved the fact it comes with measuring cap as always sure to put the
right amount in the washing machine and makes life easier. This washing detergent was very gentle and
none of us had any skin irritations which I do have to be careful of with the
family. This is soft and gentle on all
the families’ skin. This is good value for money, especially when you take into
account just buying refills saving money for sure and plastic waste too. I will be purchasing more and already
recommended. This worked well and good
value so a big thumbs up from us. Millie Holland
