Tales From a Travelling Mum: Navigating Europe with a Babe-in-Arms is the personal story of travels I embarked on with my young family to Norway, Greece, France and Spain during the first two years of my daughter’s life. Although essentially it is a travelogue, running throughout you will find advice related to feeding, sleeping, playing and pacifying a baby or toddler on the plane, boat, train, bus, as well as in the car. I hope this makes both an enjoyable and practical read for parents new to travelling with their children. You can expect to read about boat trips in Norway, hay-making in rural France, navigating Athens with a buggy, daily life in a small village in the Spanish mountains and a life-changing road trip; as well as stories from fellow travelling mums, both near and far. My hope is that this book will highlight the fact that travel need not stop when love and babies come along, and can be adapted to suit your dreams as well as your budget.

Colourful cover, definitely an interesting looking book. I thought that it was very well written and also presented in a casual style. I thought the number of pages looked small, which appealed to me a lot because I don’t have much time these days for hours of reading. I have not seen any similar books to this before but it is not the sort of book that I would normally read. I enjoyed reading the book very much and it was a very easy read. I have really enjoyed reading it and it’s very simple to get back into the book after some time away from its pages. I am not sure if I would pay that much for the book but I would definitely buy it if it was on a special offer. A really nice book. Useful if you’re thinking of travelling with a young one. A humorous read regardless of your travel plans. The only complaint I have about the book is that some of the highlighted ‘tips’ seem a bit pointless for me, but they still may be helpful to others. There are also really detailed contents pages – not sure if this is helpful or not as I’m not using the book as a manual. Katherine Mordecai-Woolf – George 2 Years

My first impressions of the book were good; I was interested to read it because it’s quite an original idea. I liked the fact that the book didn’t look oversized too because then I find that it becomes a bit boring for me if it is a large book. I much prefer quick and simple books that I can read easily and quickly get back into once I pick them up again after a stressful day. I enjoyed reading this book and I found it quite humorous at times too, which is also nice. I like the fact that books can make you feel a certain way, so I definitely feel that the book is well written. I found the book useful as a reference guide and I will use its advice and tips on any future travels that I may plan. I enjoyed reading the book and I think it is a fairly reasonable price, even though it is not a book that I would have chosen to buy myself. I would probably not have bought it for myself but I still enjoyed reading it. Overall the book is both informative and helpful and also funny, a nice light read for all those busy mums! At first I thought it looked like a typical book that you would see someone reading at a train station. I thought the look and quality of the book was okay, but it was paperback and I prefer hardback because they always last a lot longer. I have not seen any other similar books when comparing to this one, it is the first of its kind that I have read. I really enjoyed reading the book and I also found it very useful as a reference guide. Anything that refers to travelling and moving with the little ones always helps. I really liked the sense of free spirit and adventure that many of us lack in our lives. This book is a very good read but I do find it to be very expensive. I really enjoyed this book but it’s a shame that it’s not something I would have bought. It’s a nice motherhood book of experiences compiled with a sense of humor. Margarita Alcantara – Jana 3 Years
A really nice book. Useful if you’re thinking of travelling with a young one. A humorous read regardless of your travel plans.
