Lovely
colours and size. Excellent quality and great idea that the sleeves can be
taken off. Packagings lovely colours and
also see through so I could view the product thought it. I think they could have given better
instructions. All I received was a picture showing different temperatures and a
picture of what my child should wear underneath depending on the temperature. Excellent quality. It is very strong. And
very well made. I love all of the
designs. They are such high quality I would be delighted to use any of them. Since getting this to test I have used it
constantly with my son. I am so impressed with it I have bought another one to
have as a change when I am washing the original one. Nothing needs to be improved. I love the idea
of the sleeves clipping off when indoors.
Excellent value for money. I
would definitely consider buying more. I
would highly recommend this product and have already recommended it to my
family and friends. Top marks for an
excellent product. Fantastic product I
would highly recommend to all. Margaret

Very good and was colourful, thick, good
quality and nice pattern. Packaging was
very sound. Cannot fault it. Came in a plastic bag, well-sealed. Couldn’t ask for anything more. Instructions were limited. I guess it’s using your common sense. I didn’t understand the nature of the hole in
the back of the blanket. This is the
first time I’ve seen this in any sleep bag – good ventilation. This is extremely good quality, washed well
and no bobbling. I really liked the size
and the ability to use it as a blanket as well as a sleep bag. I wouldn’t use it for my son in the car as it’s
too thick and my son would not fit in the car seat wearing it. I have used sleep bags from when he was a
young baby. No need for improvement as
this is an excellent product. I would
easily pay the RRP as very good value for money. I would purchase more and already
recommended. This is a good quality and
practical sleep suit. Anna Lau –

Sleeping Bag – Long Sleeve 3.5/5

I
received the Long Sleeved Travel Baby Sleeping Bag, size 18-36 months in
‘Pirate’ design, which the website describes as a "blue striped soft velour
travel sleeping bag with removable arms”.
The sleeping bag is very large but does of course cover a wide age
group. It is very bright with an equally
bold pattern and has detachable long sleeves which can be easily
removed/re-attached with poppers.
Although in theory these are a good idea for being out and about for a
younger child, they would be too cumbersome and thick to use in practice for a
toddler. Without the long sleeves, the
bag fastens with a zip around the edge and poppers on the shoulders and is
generally easy to get my child in and out of at bedtime. It is nicely lined in plain navy blue, and
the outer fabric is a lovely soft velour.
It is however very thick and roomy, even for a winter tog. The "travel”
feature – aside from the detachable arms – is essentially a”slit” in the bottom
third of the bag through which the bottom part of a car seat or pushchair
harness can be fed. However, as the bag
is not adjustable in anyway, the positioning of the slit means that it would
only be effective for children in the upper age portion of the bag’s target age
range who would fill out the length of the bag.
My son’s feet don’t even reach the slit even though he is average height
for a 19 month old boy. Packaging was Strong reusable plastic casing with poppers. Instructions were poor and limited in comparison to
the product’s web page. Whilst there is
some pictoral temperature related guidance enclosed that addresses what the
various "tog” levels mean, this is not entirely clear in my view. There is no information at all on using the
travel features (such as detachable arms and "slit” for harness). However, what is notable is the following
warning is contained in red capitals on the product’s web page: "THE
SLEEVES SHOULD BE REMOVED WHEN INSIDE/IN THE CAR AND WHEN CHILD IS PUT TO
SLEEP. SLEEVES ARE FOR OUTSIDE USE
ONLY.” The product does seem to be of very
good quality in terms of its fabric (outer fabric is velour and inner lining
appears to be cotton), fastenings (a combination of zip and poppers) and
stitching. However, it is aesthetically
too bright and loud for my taste.
Furthermore, although it washed well at 30 and 40 degrees in that there
was no shrinkage or damage/wear to the fabric which stayed lovely and soft,
there was some colour run from the navy fabric onto the white motifs. Most of the bags have heavy designs, however,
for boys the "Fire Engine” and "Beep Beep” designs appear to be much nicer than
the pirate one and I would consider buying these in a non-travel option. I do use sleeping bags for my son. Suggestions for improvement – Some plainer
design options would probably be popular so as to cater for all tastes. The sleeves are quite "faffy” for a toddler
and as the sleeping bag is not adjustable in anyway then perhaps the older age
ranges are too wide. I have an
alternative convertible travel sleeping bag with a "double zip system” which
gives the option of converting into what is essentially a sleep suit (a zip at
the bottom can be used to make two legs which fit easily around a
harness). This style of travel feature
means that the child does not have to fill out the full length of sleeping bag
to be used. It is a reasonable price if you
are looking for a brightly patterned sleeping bag in a smaller size with only
occasional use as a travel system. I
don’t think the "slit” and detachable arms work particularly well as travel
features compared to other products on the market. Ignoring the travel
features, as a sleeping bag I would give the product 3.5/5 for the nice fabric
and being generally well made. I would
deduct some points for the colour running, lack of adjustability and my
personal taste on the colour and pattern.
However, being marketed as a travel sleeping bag I think it could be
improved – perhaps adjustability in the bigger size and better instructions
(including repetition of the website warning in the packaging). A well-made sleeping bag which is good for
keeping a child warm but its travel features are limited and the design not to
my taste. Sarah
