It looks
imaginative and ‘dreamy’ with an intriguing title. I thought it looked
intriguing and didn’t give away too much, almost mysterious. I thought the
colours were perhaps a bit dark which meant I might not pick it up from a
library or shop shelf. the illustrations were very large and colourful and had
a child-like naive quality to them, as though they were by the little girl in
the story. The story is very simple and sweet, about a group of toys all hoping
they are a little girl’s favourite. The snugglewump is an old comforter the
little girl used to love, and it is worried that it couldn’t possibly compete
with all the other more exciting toys. I think young children will connect with
the story and find it engaging. My little girl kept requesting to read it over
and over again and it has become a favourite. I think my child liked the bold
pictures of the toys and could associate with the little girl in the story as
she has a blanket she uses as a comforter. I would urchase more books from this
author. I liked the simple sweet nature of the story and it’s emphasis on love
and the comfort young children can get from their toys. It is quite a short
story and the price is perhaps a little high. I think a pound or two cheaper
would be more appropriate. I would buy this book and I would recommend. My little girl is 4 and found this story very
enjoyable. She found the story easy to follow and it was just the right length
to keep her interest. She enjoyed looking at the pictures of the toys in the
story and picked up on more complex words like ‘antique’ – which led to
conversations about the story after we had read the book. She could understand
what the snugglewump was and why it meant a lot to the little girl. She
requested the book many times after we first read it and it has become a
favourite. My younger child also likes looking at the pictures. Katherine

Interesting
cover was not sure what the story was about but intrigued to read. Not sure the front cover would appeal to me
in store and make me want to buy this book.
The illustrations in the book were good and certainly linked well to the
story. I thought the story was really adorable.
Based on toys competing with each other to be the best. A nice rhyming tale and eventually you find
out why this toy was so loved in the beginning.
My son really loved to have this book read to him and now he wants a
SnuggleWump. He enjoyed all of the
illustrations and was mesmerized by how the toys were putting forward why they
should be loved the most. Really liked
the fact how toys become attached to children and how much comfort they give
them in their lives. It is on a par with other similar books price wise. Now we have read the book I would look at
other books by this author. I would recommend.
My son really enjoyed this story and it is now a firm favourite at
bedtime. Sara White – Samuel 3 Years

I thought the
cover looked a bit dark and daunting and did not really show what the story is
about. The illustrations in the book
were good and blended in with the story. Really liked the concept of this
story. Which toy should be the best and
why and a long forgotten comforter was an old favourite. My daughter really
enjoyed this story and would sit and listen engrossed in the tale and finding
out what would happen. This has now become one of her favourite books. She loved the pictures and related to the
story as she has her own special comforter that goes with her everywhere. I
liked the way the book was written and would purchase more books from this
author. A nice story not too long and
kept my daughter entertained. I would certainly recommend as a lovely story.
Really nice book and pleasantly surprised story was so good and captured my
daughters attention. Louise Smith –
