Waterbrush

A Derwent Waterbrush is perfect for taking out into the field; no need for water pots and endless traditional brushes! They are portable, easy to use and great alongside any of our water-soluble pencils and sticks. Available in 2 sizes, small and medium, they house water in the barrel of the brush which is supplied to the fibre tip via a valve, giving a constant flow of water when the brush meets paper. For wet on wet techniques just add slight pressure to the barrel and to clean it simply apply pressure to the barrel and the dirty water will work its way out of the brush.

We had the Aquatone pencils to review and you can use these with the Waterbrush.  This is as easy to use as a pencil and meant she couldn’t overload it with water and ruin her picture/painting.  The Waterbrush is quite pricey at £5.49 however; it does give more control of adding water, so I think it is a good option to start off with until you get more confident with adding the water.  A good idea and a quality product and perfect for the budding artist in your family.  Lynda Lane – Mia 11 and Isabelle 4

Elizabeth  Awarded The Waterbrush  4.4/5

The waterbrush was supplied with the Aquatone pencils we were sent to review as this was perfect to accompany the Aquatone pencils.  You just use the waterbrush with the pencils to use as water colours.  This was very easy to use and the video on the website gave easy to follow detailed instructions. Very easy to use and also meant you did not and could not overload the waterbrush with water and artwork would not be ruined. This is quite an expensive item and for Isac and Lucile not something we would have normally purchased.  If they become more involved in their art then the perfect item to add to artist tools.  . A very high quality brush, good idea and ideal for any budding artist.   Elizabeth Henn – Isac 10 & Lucile 9

We had the Aquatone pencils to review and you can use these with the Waterbrush. The item helps you use the Aquatone pencils as watercolours and allows you to add water to create your watercolour picture.  Very easy to use and by watching the instructional video online you knew how not to overload with water.  I think this is perfect for a budding artist but Faye just likes to draw and not something we would have purchased.  A good design, good idea and high quality.  Just a bit pricey and not something we would purchase presently.  Maybe in the future if her interest in art grows then the perfect item to have in her artists set.   Martha Bryant – Faye 10 years
