It looked smaller than I thought it would be, but was impressed with the padding on the seat. It’s a great idea, but wasn’t sure how it would work out in practice. Having had a few rides we really warmed to the idea of having our daughter right in front of us as we rode. It was great to be able to communicate with her as we out on the bike. The seat was reasonably easy to fit to the bike, but we weren’t keen on the safety bolt that holds the seat onto the crossbeam. We found it difficult to tighten and never felt it was really secure. We substituted our own slightly longer bolt in the end, as we could then add a nut on the underside for added safety. We felt much happier that seat was secure on the cross bar once this was fitted. Once fitted using our added bolt this was safe and secure. It was easy to place our daughter in the seat, but the buckles are stiff to buckle up and release. I’d prefer this way than not as I know my child is safe and can’t undo the straps. Once she was in the seat I was very confident she was safe. We found the harness and leg straps to be very secure. We also found it very beneficial to be able to communicate with our daughter, especially at the start as she was very unsure at first being on the bike, but quickly started to enjoy it and loves to point out birds and wave at people as we pass them by. She loves it. It absolutely perfect for her. The headrest was effective so she didn’t hit her head on the handle bars, but she slept mostly against my arms than the front head rest. Maybe in time she’ll grow to use the head rest as it’s supposed to be used. We’ve found it quick and easy to move the seat on and off the bike. The moveable footrests are perfect and I feel very happy her feet are safe and secure. The safety straps were easy to use, but stiff and hard to undo. I prefer it this way as I know she can’t undo the straps herself. This was a good fit for our bikes. We have two bikes, and no issues with fitting it, although one of our bikes has a front basket and the foot rests did knock into the basket when turning sharply. Fixed easily with some longer bolts to push the basket out a little further. This is easy to store, but as yet we’ve not had any reason to clean it. WE would use this 1 / 2 times each week. I have used it around town and cycling to see friends in a village. I’m not sure my daughter will fit in it all the way to age 4, but we shall see. It is important to me it comes with a 2 year warranty as it’s to last until age 4 and is a high value item. I therefore would expect a two year guarantee. I liked how it didn’t add noticeable weight to the bicycle even with her in it, but I really loved being able to really interact with my daughter pointing out things as we passed them. The position of the seat is perfectly on the centre of gravity on the bike, so has little impact to balance whilst riding which is a massive plus point. I’ve used rear mounted seats before, and found they can ‘swing’ the bike, especially as the child gets older. Seems to be a well-constructed item, and so far we’ve had no issues with the quality of the seat. Yes this is good value and hoping it will be suitable for our daughter for several years. We have actually purchased a spare bar to go on my husband’s bike so we can swap the seat over easily. We would recommend because it’s the perfect way to travel with your baby/toddler on a bike. My husband was initially not keen on the riding position, as he felt it would be difficult to ride like this. Within a few minutes of his first ride, these fears were gone, and he is now totally sold on the idea! So much so, I don’t think he’ll ever go back to the traditional rear mounted seats! Marie Awarded The WEERIDE Deluxe Baby Bike Seat 5/5
It arrived safely and well packaged. I was little concerned it would be hard to fit but the instructions was very easy for fitting. I love the fact that it goes on the front of the bike. This was easy enough to fit to my bike. I felt extremely safe putting my bubba in the seat. I found it easy enough to place my child in the seat, I have since put 3 kiddies in this seat and they were all safe and happy in this seat. I was extremely content that my child was safe in the seat it was very secure and close to me. I like the fact that my child was close to me while I was on the bike I never really liked the idea of them being behind me because I can’t see what’s going on while I’m riding. We went on a long bike ride and my child really enjoyed seeing all the views and being close to me. I felt very secure being able to up to see what was going on at all times. I so much prefer the front seated bike seat rather than in the back. The headrest was good but my child did not fall asleep in this bike seat as wanted to see what was going on. I take the seat off every time after I’ve used it and put it back in the box so it lasts longer and it is very easy to do which makes it a massive benefit. Great to use, travel and store when not in use. The footrests are a fantastic thing due to the fact as they get bigger it can be amended to be more comfortable for the child I think is a great idea that there is so many options to readjust the bike seat as you wish. The 5 point safety straps were everything I wanted from Sophie and we really enjoyed it. This is a very good fit for my bike and I have a muddy fox. It was very easy to keep clean and store. I take it off every time and store in the box once I’ll give it a wipe over as my child likes to have a snack every now and then. This was a perfect thing to have whilst Covid is going on because we use our bikes a lot more for now than we used to. We go out maybe once a week and it’s fantastic as my little one is too young to ride their own bike. We used this in the countryside mostly as we pick a spot and take out bikes out to get some fresh air. This is ideal from 12 Months through to 4 years as it can be amended to grow with your child. I think it is fantastic this comes with a 2 year warranty because if you buy an item you want to know that you’re covered for any damages that might have been. I like the strong structure and the fact that is so comfortable for the child. The quality is absolutely fantastic. I think if you split the money between the amount of use you can use it it’s a fantastic price and well worth the money to know your Child is safe and secure. I would definitely consider buying it I think for the long trips away with the kids you know that your younger Child can enjoy all the time with use and see what is going on without having to worry about them falling behind. I actually already have recommended to my neighbour who has a little boy of around eight months old and I told her that it was a fantastic product to have. I am giving this top marks if I could give it a higher mark I would. Overall it is a fantastic product is great for holidays that we have caravan holidays in the countryside it’s a free day out with Children and at the moment especially with everything going on I know I give my kids a fantastic day out whilst keeping my little ones safe but they can still get involved in everything that is going on. Louise Awarded The WEERIDE Deluxe Baby Bike Seat 5/5
I was taken back a bit by the size! But generally speaking it was well packaged and looked like a great price of kit. I was nervous at the thought of having the seat directly in front of me. I was concerned that if he was to lean he could possibly topple the bike more than if he was at the back where I’m used to having a seat. It was surprisingly simple to fit onto my bike. The instructions are really clear, much better than many instruction manuals. There are also videos on YouTube which I used to double check what I was doing. Once fitted this was safe and secure. I was unsure of what to expect. My son is 17 months but he’s enormous!! He seemed very secure. I also put my 4.5 year old in it as a test – he is quite small for his age so I wasn’t concerned that he wouldn’t fit, it was just for fun but he said it was very comfortable and that he felt safe. It was easy to place my son in this bike seat. My son hates straps normally and can be a pain which was another concern but he was happy to stay strapped in for several bike rides. Perhaps the improved view helped to distract him. After the first ride yes I was confident my son was safe. I was cautious to begin with but my concerns were quickly quashed. Being able to communicate with my son while on a bike ride is my favourite thing about it! It is a joy to hear their reactions and observations as we ride together. We both absolutely love it! Our youngest points and giggles and kicks his legs with excitement. The oldest constantly talks! Neither of my children have fallen asleep in the seat. I don’t want to give this a low mark because I think it’s just a lack of opportunity. The oldest doesn’t nap and the youngest tends to nap at a specific time. I feel quite confident that if I was to take them out during his nap time he would nod off as he is very relaxed in the seat. I’ve only removed it once, it took roughly 5 minutes to remove. We’ve opted to keep it on for the time being. The moveable footrests are very effective for changing between children. The safety straps were very simple to use. We have them on several other items and I would say comparatively they are excellent. It fits my bike well. I’m 5’3 with an average reach and I have a Specialized Vita hybrid bike. I would normally ride on the road but I use the paths with the children. We’ve just stored it along with the bike in our garage without removing it. It is very easy to clean – easier than our high chair even! I’ve used this 5 times so far for relatively short trips (under half an hour) – the weather has been a bit too rough for much more use but now that the seasons are changing I’m sure it will be used a lot! We used this riding around our village and a little bit of road cycling in the quieter countryside areas around here. I do agree the age suitability 12 months – 4 years is ideal. We have an enormous 17 month old and a relatively short and slim 4.5 year old. Both boys fit well in the seat and both have room to grow. I wouldn’t buy any product of this type or price without at least a 1 year guarantee but as for 2 years, it depends on how well it wears. I’ve read some other reviews that suggest this is a very long lasting seat. I think this seat will see a fair amount of wear and tear because we enjoy bike rides and go quite often in the summer months so I think it’s more likely the seat might be damaged by accident than fail in some way. It’s a hard one to answer. But a longer guarantee would certainly give peace of mind if I was buying without the advantage of having tested it. Hands down I love the joy of having my son sitting at the front with me. It has turned an already enjoyable activity into a treasured favourite pastime for us. I think it’s excellent quality. It gives me great peace of mind. Most definitely great value for money. Anything that is user friendly and long lasting is good value at this price. I would happily pay this price knowing what a great time we would all have with it for years to come. I would buy this as it is so easy to fit and has bought us heaps and heaps of entertainment. We already have recommended! For the reasons I’ve given above, we barely use our trailer anymore, only when we have too much to carry in a rucksack or anticipate our eldest wanting a lift too. I can’t sing it’s praises enough. If our eldest was younger we’d have already bought a second one for my husband’s bike. It is simple and fast to fit, l did it in about 10 minutes. My main concern of not being able to balance was quickly quashed and we’ve enjoyed bike rides in a whole new way. I love that it is so easy to adjust for different children and I wholly recommend it. Thanks so much for the opportunity to try this seat! X Louise Blackmore – Joel 17 Months
