Who Put the Marmite in the Fridge Game

WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
We should all know that Marmite does NOT belong in the fridge, so in this pairing game you must try and avoid being left with the Marmite Jar.Watch out though, your opponents will be trying to offload the marmite jar into your possession at every opportunity.WHERE DID THE IDEA COME FROM?
‘Who put the Marmite in the fridge?’ was and still is my daily question. My wife, being French, puts everything in the fridge, including the Marmite. And this annoying habit has now been passed on to my children.Frustrated at trying to spread a lump of hardened Marmite, I invented a game in an attempt to educate them about what should be in the fridge. It hasn’t worked, but a great little game has come out of it.AND HERE’S A BIT MORE INFO….
A fast, fun, action game of matching the food pairs – just don’t be left holding the Marmite Jar as this should never go in the fridge. If you have it in your hand you need to get rid of it by fair means or foul, bluff or double bluff…..

This game comes in a nice box; I like the size, good for a
stocking filler, easy to take out and about e.g. on holiday/trips etc. The
packaging looks good but I think it will wear quite quickly. The game is easy
to play and easy to understand the instructions. My son did understand the
concept. I had no concerns with him playing with this at all. It kept his
attention and he would play with it again. This is good for teaching about turn
taking etc. and does require concentration which is good. Evan liked playing
the game and enjoyed it. The quality is ok; it looks good now but I think the
box will dent and wear quickly, the cards are quite thin and bend/rip easily
too. I would want it to be a bit more durable for the price point. I would buy
this as a gift or stocking filler. I would recommend this game to others. It is
a fun game which my child enjoyed playing. Maria Rooney – Evan 7 Years

My first impression of this game was good; I really like the
colourful fridge design of the box and the way the cards come out. There is a great
look to it all but could be slightly sturdier; our box is squashed and torn in
places after just a few uses. The instructions were perfect; very clear
directions and a nice length game to play with young children. It keeps them
engaged for the duration. They fully understood and enjoyed the concept of the
game. I have two children aged 6 so the youngest recommended age group and they
found it easy and fun to play. At first as a parent I wasn’t so sure about the
odd looking pictures like the kippers but actually the children liked them and
I grew to like them too because they are items that would be smelly to have in
your fridge which I suppose is how it should be. This game did keep their
attention; they were very creative with trying to get you to take the marmite
card from their hand. We kept laughing throughout. They have to match pairs,
manage holding lots of cards in their hands and wait for their turn. This is
easy for them to play without losing interest; great game length so they don’t
get bored. I think the box could be stronger and the cards could be thicker.
The cards are good because they are waxy but they could do with being a bit
stronger so they don’t bend so much. You can almost spot the marmite card from
the reverse because it’s creased so much. I really like the game concept and design.
Don’t like the quality; think this could be improved. I would buy this game and
recommend it to family and friends. It is a really enjoyable game for all the
family which made us laugh lots. Rachel Hambleton – Ollie 6 Years, Jack 6 Years and Leo 21

I thought this game looked quirky, Ella liked the fact that it
looked like an actual mini fridge. The packaging was great; bright colours,
great design, did manage to rip when I opened the front of the game when the
card slots in. Instructions were clear and easy to understand. I explained the
game to Ella and she understood the idea of the main game. I had no worries
with her playing this game at all. The playable context is good because you can
play different games with this; it kept Ella entertained. It was very simple
for her to play without losing interest in it. Ella has used the cards to play
shop with. The quality is ok; it is a great design and colours but I managed to
rip the door when I opened the package. I think it offers excellent value for
money though. I would consider buying it; would make a great little present. I
would recommend it to family and friends. It is a quirky game for kids; great
for entertaining. Kelly cook – Ella 7 Years
