I think it looks fantastic and I love that it isn’t a typical kitchen gadget so I can store it practically anywhere. I got the navy and red style that I wanted and am very pleased with it. There wasn’t a whole load of packaging per say, just a plastic cover covering the product and some leaflets and a recipe booklet that came with the product explaining how to use it and where the proceeds go. Very clear instructions – I didn’t have trouble understanding them at all. I thought the leaflets were designed really well – I liked the look of them. This has been made very well. The fabric is long lasting, it doesn’t stain – some of my sauce spilled on to it when I was removing the pan and I spot cleaned it and it hasn’t left a mark or anything. My son (15 months) also decided it was very comfy and decided to sit on it at one point and I thought he’d have squished it and spoilt the structure of it but it was totally fine. This cooking method is simple – it took a little longer than it would have with my current slow cooker but I was expecting that and it was nice to not have to think of the amount of electricity I was consuming with leaving the slow cooker on the warm setting. It was a little tough the first time I used it but that was perhaps because I was preparing a lamb shank and we like to cooked to the point the meat is falling off the bone and it took a while to get there but then I tried the chicken and leek braise recipe (substituting the ham for mushrooms) and that worked perfectly as did a version I made of the bean stew recipe. I think it’s just a matter of figuring out at what point you need to stop cooking and move it to the Wonderbag and it takes a little trial and error and getting used to. We never buy pre-prepared food in my household so I would be creating fresh meals anyway, but this definitely makes things easier and is fun to use! Cooking with this wonderbag the food does
taste better. I sometimes get put off using my slow cooker because of the amount of electricity used so I just do the best I can on the hob but given that I can put things together at 1 pm and not think about them again until 5 pm or so or how much electricity I’m using –
really helps contribute to being more patient and getting better results. A big benefit is being able to cook foods for long without using additional energy and spending less time watching over things in the stove or slow cooker – you can’t overcook/ burn food in a Wonderbag! I have a second on the way soon so I’m going to have even less time for the kitchen and this will go a long way helping us still have fresh hot meals. This is fantastic value for money. Slow cookers retail for £40-£65  and you still have electricity costs on top of that. Added to that you are saving water, energy, time and you only have to browse their website for about 5 minutes to see the colossal impacts the Wonderbag has that no slow cooker does! I would have purchased it had I not been offered one to test and I’m considering purchasing it for my mum as a gift. I have already recommended. Once you get the hang of it, I really can’t fault it. Overall a brilliant product to use, with long lasting benefits not just for me personally but for the environment and wider society. It feels good to be part of something that helps to improve lives and is as simple as a bag! It beats going into Argos and picking up a slow cooker and bringing it home and taking it out of the box to use. Mine will soon become redundant. Iman Said
