Create A Slice of Fun with LeapFrog!

For anyone with a budding little chef in their life, Leapfrog’s best-selling Build-A-Slice Pizza Cart is a must-have for the Christmas list this year. Winning Gold in the MadeForMums Toy Awards 2023, it’s the perfect gift that will have kids entertained for hours. The toy encourages children to engage in imaginative play; roleplaying as chefs, customer, or waiters, all whilst developing crucial fine motor skills as they practice counting toppings, recognising shapes and even thinking in fractions as they slice their own pizzas!

To celebrate this launch, Leapfrog opened doors to ‘A Slice of Fun’ – the world’s first pop-up pizza restaurant run by kids! Taking place in London on 25th October 2023, budding little chefs, waiting staff and maître ds took control to create their pizza delights for real!  See what happened here:

Build-a-Slice Pizza Cart™ RRP £59.99
Age 3-6 years

Who wants some pizza?! Come on over to the pizza cart for a fresh slice of yummy pizza served up with some preschool skills!

30+ role play pieces allow aspiring pizza chefs to learn about numbers, colours, shapes and more as they cook up hours of pretend play fun! Begin by ringing the bell on the pizza cart to hear your customer’s order and follow the instructions to create a slice of pizza with the topping they’d like! Use the interactive spatula to scoop up the pizza slice, and hear as it’s recognised by name, colour and shape. Next, open the oven door, put in your slice and turn the oven dial to cook your pizza. Enjoy fun sounds, songs, Italian phrases and more while the pizza is baking! Once your delicious pizza is ready, take it out of the oven and place it in the pizza box – sprinkle on some cheese with the pretend cheese shaker and collect your money by pressing the till button. Great work, chef! Another happy customer!

Not only is it fun to be make-believe pizza chefs… little ones will also learn these key skills through creative play:

  • Counting out – as children count money, toppings and wait for the pizza to ‘cook’!
  • Learning colours and shapes – as children mix and match their pizza toppings and slice their pizzas!
  • Vocabulary and language skills – as children discuss the pizzas and how they run their very own pizza cart.
  • Fine motor and hand-eye coordination skills – as children build their pizzas and use the slicer.
  • Imaginative roleplay both on their own and with their peers.

Set to be one of the must-have toys for budding little chefs ages 3-6 years this Christmas, the Build-a-Slice Pizza Cart is available to buy from all good toy retailers now. To view the full range visit
