Did you feel sad, anxious and frustrated when you couldn’t soothe your baby’s cries? Did ‘brain fog’, reduced energy and mood changes make you feel out of control? Then you are not alone. Graco’s latest Parents, Connected campaign focuses on the often-unspoken challenge of early parenthood: exhaustion.
Graco’s research found that Parents today are navigating early parenthood with instant access to an online support toolkit – from structured, expert guidance on their baby’s needs, to peer to peer reassurance on social media, the digital world is packed full of parent hacks and relatable content to ease the journey. Yet even with all this information at their fingertips, the emotional weight of the first few months after birth is unmistakable. The findings reveal that sleep deprivation is the biggest challenge of early parenthood, with over four in ten parents citing lack of sleep as the hardest part. A quarter said their baby’s crying was their biggest struggle, and almost three-quarters, 74% found crying far harder than they has ever imagined it might be.

To support and reassure new parents, Graco has applied intuitive technology into its latest Eluma range, with Eluma Sway, a soother and Eluma Nest, a bedside crib. At the core of the Eluma range is Graco’s Cry Detection Technology, which recognises when baby becomes unsettled and responds with a combination of motion and sound. Parents can choose from a wide mix of soothing options – from white noise and gentle melodies to vibration and gentle motion – and activate or pause Cry Detection as needed.

The Eluma Nest, built to reassure and support. The Eluma Nest bedside crib is a brand-new concept with Bluetooth® connectivity, breathable mesh sides for airflow and visibility, a firm flat organic mattress and a compact, contemporary design. With thousands of soothing motion and sound combinations, it works to find the right solution to soothe your baby, offering a helping hand right next to parents, through the night.
