Phonics with Robot Reg children to take part in a ‘We don’t hide our kindness challenge’ as part of a national fundraising campaign

Children and families that attend Phonics with Robot Reg classes up and down the country are set to take on a ‘we don’t hide our kindness’ challenge next week as part of a national campaign to recognise everyday heroes and improve support for disabled and autistic children.

The kindness-themed challenges, including dressing in your brightest clothes and taking parts in acts of kindness, will take place as part of the popular Phonics with Robot Reg classes throughout the week in support of the national Children’s Activities Week campaign.

The Phonics with Robot families and children will join an estimated 120,000 children from across the country in completing the challenge as part of this national campaign to raise awareness and funds to provide support for disabled and autistic children through the charity, Caudwell Children.

There are approximately 875,000 disabled children in the UK and for almost a quarter (24%) of families with disabled children, extra costs associated with their care amount to over £1,000 a month.

The money raised from the challenges will fund vital services designed to  provide children and families the support they need to reach their full potential.

Alex Burnside, Co-founder of Phonics with Robot Reg said: “We are very proud to be part of Children’s Activities Week and know all of the children are going to have so much fun taking part along with learning more about the importance of being kind.

At Phonics with Robot Reg we are passionate about giving children the best start in life and by taking part in Children’s Activities Week, we are taking that beyond our own classes and to reach out and support other children as well.”

Children’s Activities Week is a partnership between What’s On 4 Kids, the national charity Caudwell Children and the Children’s Activities Association, a not-for-profit membership organisation.

Trudi Beswick, Chief Executive of Caudwell Children, said: “It is truly an honour to have groups of children like these all coming together to help raise funds for the charity. We are dedicated to enabling disabled and autistic children to reach their full potential and Children’s Activities Week is playing a big part in us achieving our aim. Together, we are changing lives.”

Children’s Activities Week takes place from 21st – 27th March 2022 and culminates in an exciting showcase event at the charity’s headquarters in Staffordshire. This celebration will bring together local children to enjoy a range of fun and educational clubs and classes from providers throughout the UK, demonstrating all the positives children’s activities bring plus the exciting highlights of the week!
