Alison Awarded the Thomas the Tank Engine cake mix 5/5
Straight away, I was really excited to try out this cake mix, because the cakes looked great and my son loves Thomas. Also, the instructions on the back made it look so easy that I was happy to give it a go after work, and I didn’t feel like I had to wait till the weekend and spend four hours doing it! The packaging was really bright and attractive, with a good, accurate picture of the finished cakes on the front. The back of the packaging had all the instructions, which were really simple and easy-to-read. Inside, there was plenty of room for the ingredients, but not so much that you felt it was a waste of packaging! The instructions were great. They were simple and really easy to follow. Also, following the instructions exactly produced fantastic cakes! My son helped me make the cakes. He really enjoyed it, particularly the decorations. He found the mix and icing a little hard to stir, but he’s only four, so that can be forgiven! Also, the cakes cooked so quickly that he didn’t have time to get distracted and lose interest. I found the mix extremely easy to prepare. I don’t often make cakes because I can’t be bothered, but this mix was right up my alley. Since it was more or less instant, my son and I could concentrate on the making and the eating, rather than on the measuring of everything. The cakes cooked exactly as I expected by following the instructions. They were actually quite forgiving for the cups being filled pretty unevenly! My son and I both found the cakes easy to decorate, and it was a bonus that there were three different types of decorations: little sugar train shapes, wafers with pictures of Thomas on them, and red fruity gel. The cakes were vanilla, so nothing special, but they tasted lovely! The quality was great, exactly as I expected. I’d never seen these cakes in the supermarket before, so I didn’t know how much they cost; I would have thought they’d be over £2, so when I found out they were only £1.50, I thought it was a bargain! I would definitely buy this product! (And the others in the range.) Considering how little I care for baking normally, this is probably the best and only way for my son to get home-baked cakes. I was really pleased to get the chance to trial these cakes as I might not have tried them otherwise and they feel like a real find! Alison Pitt – Jim 4 Years

Tracy Awarded Awarded the Thomas the Tank Engine cake mix 4/5
The cake mix looked promising, a fun and nice design on the box that was easy to get into. I liked that the instructions were clear and basic, my son helped me make it and he enjoyed it too. The mix was really simple to prepare and the cakes cooked as I expected them to. We didn’t decorate the cakes because when we went to open the icing sugar, it went everywhere and I didn’t have any more at home, so we had the cakes without icing and decorations. But even without this the cakes tasted really good and I think its good quality. Overall, simple to make and taste great, a good buy! Tracy Daniel – Christopher 4 Years

Lydia Awarded the Thomas the Tank Engine cake mix 4/5
The cake mix looked really good and I thought it would be fun to make. The instructions were clear and simple to follow and harry loved making the cakes. The cakes took longer than I thought they would to firm up but not too long. We made more icing from my own supply because there wasn’t enough for all of the cakes. Once cooked they tasted nice but wasn’t fluffy enough for my liking. For a quick and simple something to keep kids entertained for an hour it’s great. Lydia Price – Harry 6 Years
