History Heroes Sports Heroes Card Game

Our pack of Sports Heroes contains individual cards of History Heroes’ forty greatest Sports Heroes. Each card is fantastically illustrated to represent the individual sportsperson and shows their dates, their flag of birthplace and seven gripping facts about them. Our Sports Heroes start with the first century BCE Athenian, Pheidippides, said to be the first person to run the marathon. We then charge forwards with heroes like Captain Webb, WG Grace, de Coubertin, who helped devise the modern Olympics, Suzanne Lenglen, Jesse Owens,  Sonia Henie, Don Bradman, Juan Fangio, Tanni Grey-Thompson and many more. Our heroes in Sports Heroes come from a range of sports, such as athletics, boxing, football, golf, F1 racing, tennis, rugby, baseball, cricket, basketball, gymnastics, ice skating and squash. There are many different ways of playing the game – and you can make up your own rules, as long as everyone playing agrees to them! – but the aim is simple: you take it in turns to test each other on the facts, and/or image, and if you know the facts and can name the Sports Hero, you win the card(s).There are seven gripping facts for each sportsperson: six range in difficulty from green, easiest, to red, most difficult. If you choose, you can use the seventh, the Joker Fact, to overrule them all!

History Heroes Sports Heroes Card Game Reviews

Product Tested By Lorna Williams – Cameron 8 Years and Jodie 7 Years

Lorna Awarded The History Heroes Sports Heroes Card Game 4.6/5

This looks like a very interesting game to play with the kids. The box had loads of images on regarding different sports. The game concept is really good. Both Cameron and Jodie enjoyed playing with these cards. Each card is very informative too. They both understood what they had to do and played nicely together and took turns asking questions and answering them. It definitely kept them both amused for some time and got them thinking. This game is great in teaching them to take it in turns. They did play with these cards quite a lot without losing interest. Looking at the cards, the quality is great. I think £8.99 is a great price for something like this. I would buy this sort of thing again. I have told friends about this product. This is a great educational game that was fun to play with for both my children and their friends. Lorna Williams – Cameron 8 Years and Jodie 7 Years

Upon opening the product, my first impression is that it’ll appeal to both adults and children alike. The packaging was nice colours with
various sporting items to draw the attention from a foam finger to a medal, very quirky. The concept of the game is great although it’s trickier for younger players. My youngest who is 7 found it trickier to grasp where as my oldest who is 11 found it more straightforward. My son lost interest quite quickly as he was finding it difficult, my daughter on the other hand was the opposite that may be because she found the concept easier to understand. The quality is excellent; I myself found it very, very interesting. It gives lesser known facts such as Sir Steve Redgrave being a type 1 diabetic and Mohamad Ali being so afraid of flying that he insisted on wearing his parachute to the
Olympics. It offers great value for money; fantastic quality, fun fact filled cards. I’d consider buying again although I may go for a different theme. I’ve recommended this to a family with older children. We struggled to engage our son in the game, but to be fair his attention span can be low if not grabbed straight away. This could be a fun way to pass a car journey or on these wet dark nights that are drawing in; child willing of course! Gillian Leitch – Kyle 7 Years

I really liked the look of this game. The box was full of sports images that Micky really liked. The game is really easy to play and get the hang of. We played with the cards in a few different ways which kept my son interested. He knew how to play and could easily read the information on each card. He really liked this game; he gets this game out when his older cousins come round. They seemed to enjoy the game too. The quality of the cards is really good; they seem like they will last. They have been used quite a few times already and still look in good condition. I will be buying the same game for my nephew soon and maybe one of the other subjects that they do online. I
have already showed this to others and will continue to recommend too. Overall, this is a great learning game with loads of fun facts for you and your child to learn. Andrea Jones – Micky 9 Years
