My initial impression of this app was good. Dixie was very excited to be getting her own app. I think the concept is brilliant. It is fun and educational at the same time. We found it very easy to download and use. The instructions were simple and easy to follow. This app was very easy for Dixie to use. She loves it. I think the age range this is intended is perfect. Dixie had no problems with it and she loved using it. Her little cousin has used it too with no problems. My daughter just loved this App. I would consider buying the print magazine this app is based on now. I think the quality is excellent; you get so much in just 1 app. definitely worth the money and a great educational app. Excellent value for money. How can you improve what is already fantastic. I would consider buying it, definitely. I have already recommended it to friends with children of the same age. Plus I have recommended it to my cousin. We were really impressed with this app when we uploaded it. Loads of things to do. The concept of this app is excellent. It was very easy to download and use. The instructions were simple and easy to follow. My daughter loves this app; she found it really easy to use and kept her attention for quite some time. She would play with it on her own and we would look through it together. This is another one of her favourites. I think the age this is intended for is just about right. It has kept my daughters attention well. Willow really enjoyed using this app. It’s among one of her favourites now. I don’t think I would buy the print out version because she has never really been interested in them. I think the quality of this app is excellent. It is well worth the money. Great concept and juts right as it is. I would consider buying it, definitely. I work at a school and have already recommended it to friends and family. Lovely moving animations with clear visual directions on how to turn the page. This is a great concept to encourage more reading/listening to stories & also learning science/nature topics as well as the art of storytelling (especially when children are so keen on apps these days!). As soon as I understood where to input the code (for the free review) in the App store, it was very quick & easy to download the app. Whilst the instructions on the Help page were very useful for adults, it would have been helpful if the Worded Tabs/Icons had more visual icons (or verbal help) which non-reading children could have recognised e.g. Contents Tab to have a House Icon, Playback your recording icon have more obvious visual icon. Aside from the above, the children were easily able to work through the magazine. Both children, 3.5 and 5 years enjoyed the app greatly, so believe the age range is appropriate. Both children, 3.5 and 5 years enjoyed the app greatly. We like the variety: stories, science/nature topics, picture stories for children to learn to tell stories themselves and a game. We already subscribe to the printed magazine, so it was interesting to compare the two. The quality is superb, great animations, super to be able to personalise by recording your own voice for the stories. I expect this is an average price for a children’s app. I would have preferred there to be as much content in the app as there is in the printed version though (the printed version has A LOT of content). As suggested above; to make instructions more child-friendly and to include more of the content available on the printed versions. On the dot-to-dot game it would have been useful if the undo button just undid one stroke at a time (speaking as a parent of a perfectionist child!). My children are such fans of the printed version, that I wouldn’t plan on buying the app until further interactive content is added. For children who love technology more than printed books, this is a great app and on that basis I would recommend it. Super interactive stories & additional topics of learning.
